Those are great trucks take care have a bless one I have 260k on my Camry will tear it down at 300 to inspect internals for fun , only time I did a v8 engine on a tundra was cuz a shop failed at doing timing belt correctly and bent valves
@@WaltNasty as an owner of an 06 Sequoia...I would be so pissed that a shop eff up the timing belt replacement. Especially when they charge 1k+ to do it.
@@RonRussell-sj1zf I’m removing the whole engine I’ll take ever piece to the piston rings off to see if they were replace, Will see soon, check out the FRS I just posted blown engine take a guess at what you think, thanks
Hard to say but sounds similar to the clutch fan loose hitting shoud. Also one or two more sounds. Front exhaust with hole or lost a couple of bolts. Could be internal engine issue but engine continues to run. Interested reading more comments. Thanks
@ yeah that sucks sorry I had my transmission start to go in a 2014 Rav 4 which I had done fluid changes on new torque converter because of recall . So I sold it got a 2019 Tacoma first thing I did was diff fluid and transmission fluid and filter it was not that bad but I like to keep new fluids in my vehicles
Obviously a rod getting ready to launch ..but..I’m so surprised, that a Tacoma is having this issue to begin with!! What happened in the last 80,000 miles, that lead up to this? Was it burning oil due to lack of maintenance, and subsequently run out of oil and therefore in need of this 5k rip off repair? Or did the truck have 600,000 miles on it when it went in ???
Nice looking pickup, very nice. Damn shame about the engine.Dear God that's definitely gonna grenade! Friend should have come to you first! Your friend should visit the guy after dark that screwed him. Make certain he doesn't screw anyone ever again. Scumbags! Gotta be a roď
I would have gotten a different old truck for 5k. I have a 2004 Trundra with 360,000 miles on it and the engine still sounds very smooth.

Definitely wants to blow! I would remove oil filter and see what's inside and then go from there.

Metal on metal. Good job other shop. Heads of KNUCKLE

That’s pistons hitting valves. The engine has jumped time. A rod knock would be lower pitched.
@@brucecoleman7412 will see soon, Guess the FRS I just posted, Will surprise you what happen thanks
He could have bought a rebuilt short block for less than $3000.00
Short block would of been the best bet but I’m sure my friend didn’t know what he was paying for just wanted his truck back

Yep connecting rods I can hear that metal to metal
Sounds horrible will find out soon
@WaltNasty do a compression test that should tell you right away
Its a shame that the engine work was done incorrectly! Probably metal hitting metal.

I’ll let you know once I have it apart and we inspect to see if my friend got what he paid for, I have a bad feeling about this one

Timing is completely off?
Sheesh
They spent 5k rebuilding the engine? 😱
That’s what I said, I feel so bad for him, But we going to find out if it’s part failure or if they even did what they charged him,
connecting rod
Do you think it’s a part failure? Not torque correctly? I’m wondering if they even did it, will find out soon
Maybe it's a diesel
