I saw John on his 2017 tour in Portland, Oregon. Either we caught him on a great night of he's just that good all of the time. None of us the seven of us who were there will ever forget Isaiah Sharkey's solo on "If I Ever Get Around To Living." Simply stunning. The place went off the trails when he was done. I've seen close to 100 live shows over the years beginning with The Beach Boys in 1964, Led Zeppelin twice and The Beatles in 1965. Point being, I've been around the block a few times and I've never seen anything quite like this. An all-time concert moment.
I love watching John's concert videos because he let's so much of himself shine through for his fans to see and enjoy. He's a real down cat and a groovy kinda fella. Love him and the band! All authentic, genuine articles❣❣❣
The way the theme song of "The search for everything" started to play and then "The End" display in the screen...... is heartwarming but heartbreaking at the same time. :'))))))
I'm seeing him live tomorrow in Albuquerque. I'm so excited. It's one of his summer shows so I don't know what to expect as the track list, but i don't care, I'm excited just to get to see him live :D
Haha, true man. But I actually use that one to look at where his inspiration is at theese days, and at what level. The guitar and groove on that song is constantly evolving and changing. He obviously "is not done changing" :p
Really good concert. Although Vultures was a little rough for him, i don’t blame him though. The higher notes are out of his vocal range now a days due to to his surgery.

Was this with full band, acoustic or Trio? The lyrics you are describing don't appear in any JM song, and he also didn't do any covers that night. Do you have a link to the instagram video?
Only thing I can still think of is Slow Dancing In a Burning Room. Other wise I wouldn't know, sorry! Paul has the complete playlist in the description.. You could check the originals of all those songs yourself as a last resort.
