About this game:
Enter the Gungeon is a bullet hell dungeon crawler following a band of misfits seeking to shoot, loot, dodge roll and table-flip their way to personal absolution by reaching the legendary Gungeon’s ultimate treasure: the gun that can kill the past. Select a hero [or team up in co-op] and battle your way to the bottom of the Gungeon by surviving a challenging and evolving series of floors filled with the dangerously adorable Gundead and fearsome Gungeon bosses armed to the teeth. Gather precious loot, discover hidden secrets, and chat with opportunistic merchants and shopkeepers to purchase powerful items to gain an edge.

Fun run. I think Gungeon is pretty much exactly at my ideal for skill/difficulty for you, because it's hard enough that runs aren't a cakewalk, but easy enough that you're not slamming face-first into failure every time (as in Slay the Spire A20).
He never spends the extra money he has after dragun. 129 spare casings and not a single one to the amour in the shop.
@1RidiculousBoi If he'd bought full metal jacket it would definitely have saved him from the gunjurer scrambler shots cause it would have blanked when he got hit, clearing the screen and preventing him from taking half a dozen hits in less than 3 seconds. Also would have made the dragun flawless less stressful.

Man, the red wizard dudes absolutely destroyed him, and he didn't know it was coming because they were jammed :))

i think austin is wrong though , the blackhole gun swallows ennemy bullets which lets you stand in place and drool on yourself and still flawless bosses .

Some thoughts (spoilers ahead):
> Well, if NL sounds this confident at the beginning of the episode, I'm *sure* this will end in a victory!
> So Bubble Blaster is a really cool gun! When you reload it, the bubbles near you are expelled at a decent velocity. The biggest downside to the gun is that you can only have 10 bubbles on the screen at a time. After you fire more shots, bubbles start disappearing. Scattershot and Backup Gun (along with other items) make it worse because 10 bubbles doesn't go that far when every bubble is worse (or fired in the wrong direction). I'm making a mod for Gungeon, and one of the first things I did was increase this on-screen bubble limit!
> Black Hole Gun *is* a fantastic room clearing gun, *but* any enemy that you kill with it doesn't drop casings. Black Hole Gun *can* be used for bosses, but it's not a gun that's going to be doing the damage to a boss itself, it's a gun that will keep you safe while you kill the boss. The hardest part of this is just trying to aim your shots through the gravity of the black hole. Most (?) beams are immune, so they work well with the black holes.

(Mutant Bullet Kin, Poisbulons, the Rat phase 1, Chancebulons when they roll poison shots, and the mini Fungun mushrooms.)

Egg very fun very good run. Very glad to hear there will be much more Gungeon in future.
Just to clarify what happened on the wizard room in bullet hell. There were two bullet catchers (one of them was jammed) and they were desynchronized. So one would hit you, then the bees from your honeycomb would get caught by the other, and they would throw superfast homing jammed bee bullets back at you. Absolutely among the most hellish scenarios I've ever seen in a room fight. No surprise at all you got melted. No justice!
I feel like Austin is the final boss, considering how hard he seems to be trying to misinform eggdad.

@@moonrazk This justifys nothing. Even if they were the same level, Black Hole Gun is not only useful for clearing rooms, and flipping tables is not a bad idea.
@Brick Studios Except table techs, which sell cheap in shops and have piwerful effects, counters that. Its also not hard to just walk out from behind a table, shoot, and return
@Brick Studios I think flipping tables is worth it for enemies that shoot a large spread of bullets that are tough to dodge. I've winced every time nl's been hit multiple times by the spiders or the skeletons while right next to a table. Austin doesn't flip tables but he's also one of the top gungeon players in the entire world so I'm not sure his advice works for everyone
@@moonrazk Time played does not justify bad advice. Table flipping is not as much of a problem as you're making it sound, and blackhole gun is crazy good for bosses.
im really happy hearing NL rave about gungeon, it's seriously a great game and i'm glad he sees the isaac inspiration as something informative and not a copy.

You overvalue gunforcing. Passives are more fun in my opinion and you had enough guns already on the 3rd floor.

i just did a clone paradox run ( so basically 2 runs) into a gunslinger unlock run, only to realize i forgot to get the bullet that can kill the past the moment i cross over to the end bit where you can't go back any more.

23:06 - Austin is incorrect here, especially on your current run. You have GuNNER, which spits out a blue skull and loses 40 ammo on hit. Collect the skull to refund 1 half heart or 1 armor on Robot. Holey Grail is a D-quality item that refunds 50% ammo for all guns and activates a blank effect when you're hit. This combination is infinite ammo, infinite health if you collect the skull, and infinite on-hit and blank effects, so you want to avoid gun forcing brown chests when you have GuNNER to break the game.
Edit: There IS a D-quality gun unlock that Austin is likely thinking about, but that also comes with high risk and may have made this run more difficult. No spoilers.
Which gun? Is it the one you get for completing the ammonomicon? Because IMO just that doesn't qualify "gun force brown chests every time"

but now a good passive can make your basic pistol into a great boss killer, so would turn your great boss killer into death destroyer of worlds

Gungeon being a mainstay would be amazing, I love the content you're putting out with it.
Flipping tables is so useful, you dont even have to face the bullets to be protected, you get invincibility frames and bullets get destroyed around the table, you aint just making an obstacle!
Idk man Ive got a decent amount of time in this game, all achievements and finished ammonomican and I almost never flip tables. By moving around bullets u can constantly keep shooting while flipping tables makes it so u lose line of sight on the enemy and ur dps drops cuz u have to maneuver around the table to shoot now. It's usually better just to try to kill the enemy as fast as possible. Also wen u flip tables u gotta now focus on cover that has the potential to break and wen ur on the later floors the enemies are shooting so many bullets its hard to keep track of wen the tables gonna break.
The trick is not actively go for tableflips, its situational and can save your ass

I wouldn’t say the black hole gun is only for room clearing. It is also amazing for boss fights, not for the damage but because it gets rid of every enemy bullet.
after watching a recent 10 chamber run of his on stream, i can confirm he has learned how amazing the black hole gun is in basically every situation with lots of bullets
edit: my bad i hadn't reached the part of the video where he just mentions he got it on stream hahahasorry
edit 2: but he did use it a lot during bosses during that run as well, so i think he was just repeating what austin told him specifically on stream
I'm glad you're sticking with Gungeon; it's one of my favourite series on YT right now, and I love playing it myself in my spare time now. Got the Robot's past clear a couple of hours ago on a kickass rainbow run!

Keeping a curse from 3-6 is actually good because it will make more ammo and casing drop
+4.5 curse for 2 HP and 15% fire rate up? Always a good deal to me
And occasionally a charmed enemy will get you out of a jam no pun intended

NL buying monster blood instead of yellow chamber hurt so much dude
I haven't watched further than this yet, but it's not necessarily a bad play in terms of curse management. The mirror chest gives 3.5 curse, Cursula gives 2.5 on purchase (only 1 on theft), and Yellow Chamber gives 2 curse. That's 6 vs 8 total curse by this point, which avoids jammed bosses, allows you to pick up more cursed items going forward, and keeps the option of future theft safer.
I would have probably not opened the mirror chest at all and just purchased Yellow Chamber (or looked for a stealing item first for just 3 instead of 4.5 curse), but I'm also trying to keep curse below 5 unless I can build for it to keep Finished Gun (+5 while held) and zane-enabling Dice Shrines (which have a chance to give you +5) on the table.
NL brother, plz do play as the paradox and the slinger in one episode.

Ryan, don't let Austin's advice about the black hole gun prevent you from using it on bosses. If you can get the black hole behind the boss, you can practically shoot him for free because all of his bullets will fly backwards while your bullets will still go forward.

I mean really why heal at all or blank because as you so rightfully pointed out it wouldn't of saved him in the end. Why even bother looting at all when those guns and passives did nothing to save him from death it's really all just a waste of his time and ours, really makes you wonder doesn't it.

I love that NL's learned how to use the Bubble Blaster. I also love that NL's having so much fun with this series, because I love watching it.
Chest Teleporter is also good because if you're pretty well kitted and gunforcing a boss or for some other reason not opening the chests, you can go ahead and teleport them to the next floor. They either get upgraded or you still open them before you start the next floor
You should rename this series to: "Austin told me..."
I think that NL is the type of person who tries to min-max very specific things and I don't know why... For one, Flipping tables _isn't_ the ideal form of avoiding bullets. Of course just positioning yourself well beats table flipping and dodging, but isn't that the equivalent to saying "just don't get hit"? Everything is situational... For example: you're sounded on all sides, you could easily flip the table right next to you to decrease the number of bullets coming at you. Or against attacks that are annoying or tough to avoid, like the _Phaser Spider,_ or the _Spectral Gun Nut,_ or the _Revolvenant..._ You get it, there are times when, yes you _can_ just avoid the shots, but you can also just not put yourself into that situation, because "it's what the experts do". Again, it's situational. Don't do it _all the time,_ but know when and where you use it to give yourself an easier time when you need it.
Or that the black hole gun is _only_ good for room clearing. Yes, the black hole gun is best used to clear rooms, as it does almost no damage against bosses (excluding the synergy with the tentacle, which basically just means that you've won), but there _are_ times in which you _want_ to use the black hole gun on bosses. Namely, the second phase of the Dragun- or any time a boss becomes invincible while they attack you. It really just makes you invincible while the black hole is out. And as a note for anyone who doesn't know, the moment that a bullet starts getting pulled into the black hole, it _cannot_ hurt you. I don't, however, know if the bullets leaving the pull can, but I'd figure that to be the case.
What I'm saying is, NL seems to pick specific "advice", from people like Austin, like he's trying to min-max the game as though he breaths the game. Min-maxing isn't a problem, but it's like hitting 55 seconds on a microwave instead of 60 to save the time it takes to push the 0, when you're going to spend the next 10 minutes wondering what you're going to do for the rest of the day... It just makes _no_ sense. I'm not saying that you have to maximize _everything,_ but when you apply that to just a couple of things, but refuse to apply it to literally anything else, then what's the point?
Just realize, no matter who you are, that advice is advice, but take it with a grain of salt. Don't just _jump right into it,_ because your friend who happens to be an expert told you that it's the way to go, as though you know how to survive that way... Not saying that Austin is causing problems, but rather I just think that NL is hearing what they're saying and thinking, "well, I guess that I'll only do that now, man I'm glad these guys are here", then proceeds to do it the wrong way.
Everything is a learning experience (no, you don't _have_ to lose to learn, not sure who taught you that), but clouding yourself with information that you don't really understand doesn't make that happen. That said, it's not like every mistake is caused by this, obviously, but it's just something that annoys me from things that he's said throughout some of his videos. I don't know what NL's _really_ thinking, no one does but him, but if what he says is to be believed, then I feel like what he really needs to do in Gungeon, is to just experiment- not to ask questions, and just assume that the answer is objectively correct, especially since play styles vary. What works for Austin, may not work for you, and that's regardless of the skill gap.
I'm not sure if the paradox can pick up the bullet that can kill the past, but it counts as an S tier item for Ring of the Resourceful Rat trades.

The drawback of the black hole gun is that it sucks up items and shell casings. Also it is a god tier boss fight gun because you can use it to draw away all the boss's bullets whilst shooting the boss (if the black hole is behind the boss or you have a beam weapon), also with duct tape it's practically gamebreaking
Old king is guaranteed to drop a synergy chest now in addition to his pedestal, if you didn't know

Chest teleporter would be good in cases where you don't have a key for the chest and you think that you could probably get enough keys to open them next floor instead of just shooting it open.
NL saying he doesn't get why gunner is good, then immediately gets saved hp by its special effect without noticing, but am happy that NL is getting better at noticing things
part of the room where u got hit a bunch on bullet hell was the enemy that steals ur bullets stealing ur scrambler shots. the other part was that he also stole the bees u released once u got hit and then the bees hit u
For future lich runs whenever you decide to do them (like this one), remember that the forge is the last shop so if you have any casings you might as well spend them. You could have bought armor, a decent passive, or one of two quite powerful weapons on this run but instead you just ended up with 129 casings that are now useless.
I unlocked the Gunslinger yesterday after like 10-ish attempts. If NL unlocks the Gunslinger in less attempts than me I'm gunna have to stop shitposting all over his videos, so I'm just going to say that he's NOT gunna unlock it today/tomorrow.
the black hole gun is one of the best room clearing guns in the game without a doubt, But it comes at a high cost, as it eats your casings as well. Just to keep that in mind.

I just have to say that NL is _still_ really bad at appeasing guns in this game. Like when he said that the _Winchester_ is "way worse" than the _unfinished gun._ The _Winchester_ may not be good, but at least you can _hit_ with it. The same applies with the _bubble blaster,_ and a while back, the _boxing glove._ He only just now found out that the _face melter_ doesn't suck, only because he never bothered to use it, rather he just _assumed_ that it sucked... Now you don't _have_ to look up _every_ gun/item you find (though it helps), but at least try it once.
I had a duct taped scrambler run where I filled the room with eggs, only to realize the hard way that red mages hard counter scrambler.
The mirror give him 3.5 curse + 2.5. From cursula, easy mistake to make if you don't check the wiki
That enemy that did so much damage to you was the plain old red mage, and it was so brutal because be shot back the mini homing bullets from your scrambler, And ive gotta say there is no shame in taking damage there it was brutal.

It hurts that you don't take the armor when there's literally no other means to spend your wealth of casings on Bullet Hell. Also, the Mass Shotgun + Scattershot would've been a good combo too.
i hadn't considered this before but if you take a hit on a boss fight and you have a teleporter, when you come back to the boss room is it reset? i imagine health would reset but does it not count the previous fight allowing you a second chance at a flawless?

I remember a few episodes ago, you got hit several times in one of the boss fights, and one of the items you got was a crutch that made all of the guns homing. What if you did this on purpose to get that item, and used that along side weapons that that shoot in multiple directions?
Pretty sure that was just a coincidence, since Crutch can also just show up in chests and shops.
I think Hades has a lot of polish and potential :)

"Black hole gun isn't good for bosses" huh? Usually has good boss value for me, it's just a matter of using another gun alongside it. Though yeah more so for rooms I guess.
Can anyone explain why he spent the latter half of the episode complaining about the HP situation and didn’t buy the armor? Im not very well versed in gungeon tbh, especially the new updates so idk the meta but it seems like a no brainer to buyout the shop most of the time especially if you have the casings and ESPECIALLY if your HP is in question.

As for improvement - don't improve. It's your occasional blind moments and total fuck ups that keep me coming back. I live for the mental anguish, and you deliver it, all wrapped up in a beautiful aneurismic packaging.

Great work, but still you should never pass up yellow Chamber, its one of the best passives in the Game as it gives 1hp and halves all reload times
To further emphasize just how important reading the wiki is in Enter the Gungeon, lets list off some of the dumbest times NL has refused to look up an item:
1. Gray Mauser (didnt use to steal from shops)
2. 6th Chamber (didnt use to boost coolness when already cursed)
3. The Exotic (didnt know it could reveal contents of chests)
4. Orange (actually did look it up, but WASTES IT EVERY TIME ANYWAYS)
5. Composite Gun (wasting ammo by not charging)
6. Heck Blaster (still doesnt know it can cure jammed enemies, though to be fair i would never have assumed that either)
7. Dark Marker (i cant tell if he always uses the gun wrong or just picks up passives that break the gun, but he has never used it right)
He doesn't know you can charge Dark Marker. He accidentally charged it once, but didn't realize what happened and has never tried to charge it since.

If you're talking about the eyeball room, there's an extremely tiny chance Teleporter Prototype will get you there on use.
There is no express purpose for that room. It does nothing, other than being extremely rare and unsettling.
@@luhsvideodump1300 Oh well that kinda reminds me of error room in isaac that you could only get there by teleporting but it has a purpose so I'm thinking that it is a direct refference to that?

Also a slight correction on what i said: It DOES have a purpose! Unlocking the Yellow Chamber, if you hadn't already.
Now that you actually know what some of the items are you should do a rainbow run after unlocking the gunslinger
