I took a photography qualification when I was 16, & actually won a prize and got exhibited (I journeyed into the roughest part of Southampton with a Pentax P-30!..I wouldn’t do it now) sadly I never continued, but I still love books on photography.William Eggleston, Stephen Shore, Martin Parr, Bruce Gilbert,Diane Arbus among many others. Hi Malcolm, Happy New Year to you. Sorry to hear about Sound It Out - that was a great doc, and I still have it on DVD. Good choice of Leon Redbone, although I'm impressed you found him in your teens. As for fish, there's 'Fish Out of Water' and 'Fish Rising'. There'll be more. JG Windows in Newcastle must have massively over-ordered copies of 'Planet Waves' as they were selling it at a budget price for months.
So, you used to “get some stick” from your friends, regarding your musical choices and taste, when you were a kid? Almost impossible to believe and, thankfully, of course, no longer the case. Enjoyed that, Mal. Now off to listen to a virtually unknown album - rarer than even your James Leonard Hewitson album. This is the ultra rare collaboration between Eric Dolphy and Yoko Ono. As in the world of philately, occasionally the folk who press the vinyl get things wrong, with something ultra collectable being created as a result - as is the case with this album. Recorded in the 80’s, it was not until 2021 that an avid aficionado noticed that the entire album had, indeed, been recorded backwards. As it happens I’d picked up a copy at a garden centre where the owner had been doing a roaring trade, marketing them as a means of keeping starlings off newly seeded lawns.

I like your idea of having an 'Irish' theme to your dinner party, although calling it an Irish Dinner Party sounds like the beginning of a bad 70s joke. LOL And Ireland is a fantastic choice of the only country. I'd completely overlooked them myself, but when I think about it... I'd probably enjoy the limitations. Cheers.
