      Hey! Thank you! 🙂 As of now, the main card I’m using is the UOB Absolute AMEX. Only because I’m overseas, but when i’m in SG - HSBC Revolution :) another no minimum spend with higher cashback. Only use the UOB EVOL if I know in that month I’d be able to hit the $600 min spend.

    I will reach out to the customer support of the credit card inside the app and ask them what MCC that transaction is. I never tried that for UOB but I did so for the other cards I have.

    Thanks so much for your video, Demi! Have a few questions:
    1. Does UOB evol earn cash back with simply go? Or can you earn cashback on bus/train rides just by using contactless payment?
    2. Apologies if this was covered but are grab transport / food payments (e.g. food delivery, self pick up) considered online spending?
    3. What are some examples of 'other' payments - the last $100 for min spend? (Couldn't really find info on this). Would grab wallet top ups fall in this category?

    • @DemiZhuang
      @DemiZhuang  ปีที่แล้ว

      1. Yes
      2. Yes
      3. Terms and conditions exclude top up to grab. Do read the T&C as it covers the exact things that are excluded from earning cashback. The $100 left to spend on can fall into paywave / online.

    Is there a way to monitor how much i have spend under online, contactless and others rather than looking at the transaction made in the UOB app ?

      I'd say track meticulously with a budgeting app or an excel spreadsheet and check every other day. That way you won't miss out on the cashback.

    just a general question why do banks likes to make things so complicated, if they willing to give cash back for $600 just give, why they want to make it different card having different rules? For example if i take bus/mrt using the card is consider others, if i take it to apple pay and pay via phone or apple watch is consider mobile. however to the bank so long i charge to the card they would earn from the merchant right? why would they want to differentiate between card or mobile? what is the rational?

To give some background i did call the UOB hotline to ask these question but even their CSO cannot answer the questions, they told me i have to make the transaction then for each transaction they can check and advice.... by the way i only get this card because i want to hit the 500 for UOB One account getting the cashback or not is a bonus not my main objective.
