@@user-jw9li9ew1u I'm pretty sure he says that, even tho I heard people say in "official" script versions or the book he says "this scene?" however it just sounds like another one of their silly tricks to try to make this movie less gay lmao, which is also prolly why this wasn't included in the movie, Peter Weir was prolly like "nope Im overdoing the gay here, too much gay and this is 1989"
The scene where Todd and Neil are going over Neil's line on the dock on the lake explains why Todd runs down there when he finds out Neil is dead. It's the last place they were alone together and we're connecting 🥺🥺
I strongly believe that the play practice scene is significant to Todd’s reaction to go to the docks as Neil’s aliven’t settled in 😀♥️💔 I’m pretty sure it’s significant because of how Neil encouraged him to be confident and loud there, later on leading to Todd ✨rebelliously✨standing on his desk for one last goodbye to dear Mr. Keating ☺️💔 It irritates me the rehearsal scene isn’t included for context.

Todd trying to a speak is me in any social situation, ever. The minute a teacher calls on me I just *freeze* and stutter my way through a sentence. I relate to him because I too am a gay ball of anxiety who likes to write poetry but refuses to let anyone read it
I’m legitimately aaaaaah at the left handed scene because my grandmother and I are both left handed and she would tell me stories about how when she was in school her teacher wouldn’t even say anything she would just s n a t c h the pencil right out of her left hand and smack it into her right hand- Then of course in elementary school one year I pretended to be right handed to be like my friends and I legitimately wrote like that for 1/2-2/3 of the school year and then the teacher found out and was like “I know you’re left handed but you can write with your right hand I’ve seen you do it so try.” And that’s how I got stuck with that. Did anyone ask? No, absolutely not but I’m sharing anyway.
ARE WE NOT GOING TO TALK ABT THE TRANSITION IN THE ORIGINAL CUT VIDEO WHERE MR. KEATING ASKED NEIL IF HE TOLD HIS DAD ABT THE PLAY AND NEIL IS LIKE NO 🙂♥️ THEN IMMEDIATELY CUTS TO MR. KEATING CRYING AT NEILS DESK BECAUSE OF THE THING??
Okay but these deleted scenes really showcase just how psychologically abusive this school was. Choosing their extracurricular activities for them? Dictating which hand they should eat with? Considering Neil had to deal with that AND his abusive father, is it any wonder he did what he did? 😭
the one about the eating w/ your left hand really annoy me because your meant to eat w/ your fork in your left hand (i guess in america they don't follow that rule but still)
all of these are in the book but they removed the flying desk set scene and the im being chased by walt whitman scene. also knox is more annoying in the book
ARE YOU TELLING ME THAT THE FIRST UNMANNED FLYING DESK SET DOESN'T EXIST ON THE BOOK AND THAT IT IS POSSIBLE TO MAKE KNOX OVERSTREET MORE ANNOYING THAN HE ALREADY IS?
@@sprachen7122 I‘m two years too late, but I think they are talking about the scene where Neil tells Todd that he needs to speak up. He sounds kind of harsh in that scene, probably because he is in a bad mood from his father

the dock scene being cut is single handedly the most homophobic thing ever. u rlly killed off a gay AND cut a scene of him with his bf????
One of the most homophobic things in one of the most gay movies

Thr scene with Neil and Todd practicing lines would have been perfect since when Neil died Todd runs to the dock that they practiced on 😭😭
