  • Installing race bodywork can be one of the more challenging mods a rider will do to their bike. With this install we wanted to highlight the process you could apply to almost any race bodywork install. If you follow the steps outlined in this video, add a little patience and a solid helper many riders will be able to get the end result they want.

    The Hotbodies Kit for the 11-18 Suzuki GSX-R600 and 750 fits this bike very well. When we were done the body lines all looked nice and the kit was pretty easy to remove and reinstall.

    What did you do to remove the evap canisters that are mounted in the tail? As I soon as I unplug them it throws an FI light.

    I don't mean to be a bug with questions Brian, I just noticed the Samco Coolant Hoses, I was told those hoses add 5 HP. I don't know how a couple/few Coolant Hoses could add 5 HP, but is that actual fact, or like I have already been thinking myself, they look good, and as my work is more Spring, Summer, Fall, I will be getting some of them anyway this season. Been snowed in here in Victoria for 2 weeks now, in the outer areas anyway, been riding the past couple days in town. It is odd to have snow more than a day or two here. Take care. :)

    Noticed there are quite a few bolts, spacers, plastic washers, etc. to get to install. Anywhere I can buy a package of all I need? Worried I'll have to waste time going back and forth to hardware store... I already bought D-sus rings and mirror blockers.

    • @sportbiketrackgear
      @sportbiketrackgear  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      We do sell the dzus in 6 packs. As for the other fasteners and spacers you can typically reuse the ones that help on the OEM bodywork. If you need other options I recommend hitting the hardware store. - Van

    This video was very helpful for my Hotbodies installation on an '07 Daytona 675. Ready for paint, but wondering if you have a video that recommends how much and where exactly I need to place the adhesive-backed heat shielding that came with my kit? (Besides, obviously, near the exhaust)... First track day this year is May 9, and I don't want to melt anything but my laptimes!

    • @sportbiketrackgear
      @sportbiketrackgear  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would take a look at the exhaust to determine the spots where this will be close to the bodywork (usually the right side and the bottom) and place it there. - Van

    What is the exhaust holder on that rear footpeg? Do you sell it?

    Nice work. What's the benefit over the two rear tail styles either superbike or stock seat?

    • @sportbiketrackgear
      @sportbiketrackgear  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That is all about personal preference. The stock seat is softer than the fiberglass seat pan of the superbike style and provides less feedback for this reason. Some riders prefer the additional feedback from the SBK tail. - Van

    Hi there, I have a 2011 gsxr-600 myself and converting it to a trackbike. I noticed the quickthrottle on this bike and was wondering what righthand controlpanel used? Since the gsxr-600 has 4 buttons instead of 2 on that side.

    • @sportbiketrackgear

      The stock twist throttle assembly on this model incorporates an on/ off switch, mode switch, and starter button. The Motion Pro accessory switch only has an on/ off switch and starter button, and cannot be used to replace the original switching functions on the stock throttle assembly. In order to install the Rev2 kit and retain all the necessary switching functions, owners of this model will need to install longer aftermarket handlebars (at least 50mm longer than stock on the right side) and use the stock throttle assembly mounted behind the Rev2 throttle housing. The stock twist throttle assembly can be modified to remove the throttle reel holder portion and leave just the necessary switches. This modification makes it narrower and uses less space on the handlebar. If you are building a track only bike we suggest installing the Motion Pro Enhanced Right Side Start/Stop Switch. When doing this you will no longer be able to switch the power modes and the bike will default to A mode which is the most powerful and the one most desired for track use.

    Question for jimmy, did you shim the rear shock? If so, by how many mm? I just purchased a 2016 gsxr 750 and took it to a track day. The bike ran wide in corners when I give it gas. Suspension is dialed in properly. Just wanted to know if you added shims to help with mid turn and exit

    • @sportbiketrackgear
      @sportbiketrackgear  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This bike is long gone now. Pretty sure he had an Ohlins rear shock on the bike which has adjustable length. If you have the OEM shock you can add shims to the shock clevis. With this bike you need to raise the front as well. - Van

      I have installed it on several different bikes at this point and would say it is a good value. It would be accurate to say there are other kits (which cost more) that are easier to install. If you plan to tackle this install yourself and do not have much experience you might be better served spending more. - Van

    Do these not require any extra heat shield? I didnt notice any in the video and am curious since this is the kit I will be ordering. Also what kind of fasteners are those and how many are needed?

      I like to use the Armour Bodies Heat Shield and Armour Bodies Fasteners. On this install I used the slip over style fasteners, we sell them in a 6 pack which is enough to get this install done. Below are links to these items on our site:

    Van is there any way to keep the kickstand? I imagine a little trimming on the belly pan and it would work?

    • @sportbiketrackgear
      @sportbiketrackgear  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      This bike has had the kickstand removed for the track. If you want to retain the kickstand on your bike you will need to trim the lower to accommodate it as needed. - Van
