I can't recall ever seeing anyone else in Gundam tossing - than detonating - their own beam saber as an improvised grenade mid-combat. It's a neat tactic, especially when you think you're outmatched in close combat and only really have vulcans as a ranged option.

there been a few time pilot use their weapon out of box like star dust memory gato toss his beam saber to draw the gpo 1 fire away from him. though with vido nu gundam toss the saber away because it got damage.
Think Io did something similar in Bandit's Flower but he didn't fire on his own grenade but tossed it as an improvised flash bang. Either way, yes it is still very interesting seeing weapons used in unintended ways.
I've seen Char and Kamille do something called beam confuse where they throw their beam sabre and shoot it with a beam rifle for some reason it confuses funnels
Mad respect for that random ass pilot that took a run at Amuro in the middle of that duel. You miss every shot you don't take, and sometimes you miss every shot you do make, but that is still a heck of a way to go out.
Realistically he should've used a melee weapon, and tried to grab him from behind as well. Run it through the cockpit, and the fight is over. You'll notice how Amuro constantly is backing up, making sure Char can't get close.
@@Ultra04channel Amuro was backing out because Sazabi's saber output is stronger. After that mega particle shot though, Sazabi lost its power. And no, he wouldn't be able to grab Amuro from behind because of his newtype sense. That's how he dodged the shots in the first place.
@howardlam6181 Newtypes aren't immortal, and they don't have precognition, at least not at this point in UC. They only have heightened reflexes and a connection with other newtypes. That pilot could've done it, ironically enough, if he were a little more daring with a melee weapon.
This fight (and the one it's based on from the film for that matter) is a great illustration of what can make real robot shows distinct from super robot shows despite both being "mecha combat". Super robot shows operate on Rule of Cool and making battles a big spectacle with flashy and over-the-top weapons, whereas in reals you have a more tactical approach to fight scenes with stuff mostly grounded in a reality and a little bit of future science to make it work.
The cool thing is that it makes the machines seem more grounded which makes it easier to keep in line with "suspension of beleif", which makes it much better. When you see them fighting and using all of thier equipment which is readily destroyable, it gives a better impression of stakes and mortality - rather than a plot armored opera.
The attention to detail in UC gundam like this reanimation of CCA is just so amazing. They way they used dummies, the crampon like grip on their feet, the placement of thrusters for mobility, the use of fuel canisters, the panoramic monitor in the cockpit, the air bag to prevent pilot concussion, plus how they choreograph the fights. This is something inferior gundam shows like wing severely lack
well Amuro Never Try to prolong the fight and his goal is to stop Axis and try to finish the fight as fast as possible using fake out attack like how Amuro Using Bazooka Trick to kill Gyunei and failed to kill Char

I always love how beam saber work differently here, only when slashing (or attacking should i say) they're extended I guess this is for conserve energy?
And to avoid accidents like hitting yourself or allies. It's one of the counterarguments for laser swords/lightsabers and this is Gundam's answer to that. AFAIK they only started animating this in CCA.

And in 8th MS team Shiro adjusts the EZ8's BS power to its lowest setting which made it glow red instead of pink. But for the EZ8 Shiro had to adjust it from the arm itself like a mechanic would, rather than it being built into the MS cockpit like the GP02 and Nu.
Saw the whole clip! One of the best things I have ever seen from U.C. Engage! Mimicking the art syle of Char's Counterattack, more of Amuro and Char fighting! And the cherry on top is that in one of the rare occasions, we get an Engage cutscene of only Zeon/Neo Zeon units being destroyed, and Federation/Londo Bell units kicking ass!
this amazes me and frustrates me at the same time, and animation update to CCA is fantastic why does it have to be a short in the gacha though, like an origins style update to the og gundam series, a remake of CCA or make the Beltrochika's children as the modern update, do justice to F91 and continue on with crossbone

Char is not actually evil. He just lost faith in humanity and wants them to move out to space, so they can evolve to become NewTypes. As a fellow NewType, Amuro actually knows the feeling since he also got discriminated by humans after the One Year War. But he chose to give humanity a chance since he met so many kind humans like his friends Fraw Bow, Hayato, Bertolchika Irma, Bright Noa and his girlfriend Chan Agi.
In gundam evo, Zasabi can kill Nu in no time, and Nu to Sazabi with funnels, but when they are on the same team, sheeez its so cool to see. Their G maneuvers combined are craked af.
I m not a fan of remakes, but man how much quality could they add to a lot of the messed up productions of the late 80s/90s. Like CCA or Wing with full on production and actually good planning done before they start animating it, could actually be really damn good, especially with what kind of animation Gundam has available nowadays.
the best part is they managed to replicate the old style of animation of the actual movie using today's tech.
You can see how they given their best to emulate the animation, art style and direction of CCA while keeping it modern. Respect.
This needs to be done with a lot of the older Gundam animes specifically the original.

In F91, Seabook tossed his spare beam shield generator and then shot it to make it explode.

急造品のνガンダムがクエス,ギュネイその他を相手した後にシャアも捕獲とか戦果のコスパ良過ぎるw

それにシャアがアムロ抑えてなかったらアムロが無双して一瞬で兵が失われるからシャアが抑えるしかないんだ。

これの出来自体は決して悪くないけど改めて本編の殺陣がいかに凄いかがよく分かる。
鍔迫り合いみたいな演出的な静止すらなく矢継ぎ早にサーベルを振っては合わせの攻防、ダミーで作った隙にコックピット一点狙いの居合切りや敵の反応速度を利用して陽動からの狙撃といった必殺の小技乱用。この演劇感が全くないガチの殺し合いしてる感じはやっぱ簡単に表現出来るもんじゃない。
눈이 몇개달린 파일럿(들)의 순발력도 뛰어나지만, 기체 움직임조차 리얼해 정말 공감이되는 전투장면
