Hey Colleen! I didn’t understand traffic until I heard that traffic is like a hourglass. The skinny part of the glass acts as the lanes and cars are the sand; the skinny space is big enough to let in a lot of sand but it just can’t let every piece through at once. The rest of the sand that is just sitting and waiting to go through the skinny outlet are the cars either stuck in traffic or going into traffic from the on ramps. So it doesn’t matter how fast the cars (sand) move through the skinny outlet. If there are too many cars then there will be traffic!

colleen, each picture has a code that puts colors together in a certain way to make a photo. When you save a photo, it takes up space because each photo has its own code. This is why "back in the day" photos were saved via physical developed photos, then hard drives that hold a bunch of code for photos. the cloud allows you to save the code onto googles or apples servers, they charge you because youre using their computers to save your photos. If you dont want to pay someone else for space, buy an external hard drive and keep in in a safe place. I keep my photos saved on multiple hard drives just in case one gets ruined or corrupted, i store one in my emergency backpack in my house, and one in my emergency backpack in my car.
As an IT support person married to a network engineer the whole cloud and wifi don’t make sense was so frustrating 😂😂 I’ve never wanted to be able to talk to you through the screen so badly hahah
For the 100th episode you should hire a hair stylist to come to your house and cut your hair. Then you guys should record an episode while they are cutting your hair.

I don’t even wear glasses or have like an actual eyeglass prescription, I just have to have something that makes it so the sun isn’t forcing my eyes shut or to become entirely full of tears. Driving without sunglasses is way more dangerous for a lot of us

i feel like those pranks of celebrities dying are so mean. i understand the where people would think it’s funny but one time i saw a fake announcement about the celebrity i hold dear and my heart immediately sank to the bottom of my stomach and i started crying. maybe it’s a ridiculous reaction for someone i don’t actually know but it feels heartbreaking just the same.
Yeah. Unfortunately I told my mom that a celebrity died, for real, and she cried, which she rarely did. To this day I wish I hadn't been so casual about telling her. It's not a joke.

Colleen I’d been stuck on the traffic thing for year but I recently noticed that when there’s traffic when there’s no accident it’s because of the cars merging onto the freeway. If there’s a lot of people driving at one time then there’s more people merging making everyone else slow down causing traffic! You’re welcome :)
You are correct - it's partially due to people changing lanes to get on or get off the freeway. It's also due to the people the are the road rage drivers that are going faster than the flow of traffic and keep slamming on the brakes because they're driving too fast & riding another car's ass.

Hey Colleen, I strongly encourage you to wear sunglasses. My nana died from melanoma that she got at the back of her eye from not wearing sunglasses. It's a bigger concern than other areas because it's unlikely to be spotted until it's too late, and it's so close to important organs. They make computer glasses that are clear but still provide UV protection. Perhaps try those to start with?
I loved listening to them being confused about WiFi and clouds .... it makes sense to me but I loved Erik explain with the mechanics analogy. That made me feel better about the whole conversation lol

My deal when wearing sunglasses? Sensory issues. I get headaches and my eyes hurt, the muscles around my eyes hurt if I don't wear sunnies. I even wear them in Winter. I cannot go outside without them. Even some white sunny rooms, I HAVE to wear them or it can trigger a migraine. Also, I truly believe Maisy has a sensitivity. I've said it before but please get that little girl some sunnies. I know how hard it was for me as a kid... I still remember the utter relief when I got my first sunglasses. I loved them!

Cappuccino in Ireland (and a lot of Europe) have chocolate powder on top. Big brand coffee shops or trendy coffee shops, you ask for your specific coffee but your less fancy places you'd just say coffee and add your own milk. Also in Ireland, if you ask for tea, you'd be given regular breakfast tea, usually in a teapot, anything else is fancy so you would need to specify if you want anything different........not that anyone asked 🤭

I usually back all of my photographs up onto external hard drives, I have two of them and I keep a copy of everything on both of them. It's pretty easy once you get into the habit of it.

My deal when wearing sunglasses? Sensory issues. I get headaches and my eyes hurt, the muscles around my eyes hurt if I don't wear sunnies. I even wear them in Winter. I cannot go outside without them. Even some white sunny rooms, I HAVE to wear them or it can trigger a migraine. Also, I truly believe Maisy has a sensitivity. I've said it before but please get that little girl some sunnies. I know how hard it was for me as a kid... I still remember the utter relief when I got my first sunglasses. I loved them!
My husband is the same at Starbucks. He'll order my grande latte and then immediately ask for a "large coffee" for himself.

Cappuccino in Ireland (and a lot of Europe) have chocolate powder on top. Big brand coffee shops or trendy coffee shops, you ask for your specific coffee but your less fancy places you'd just say coffee and add your own milk. Also in Ireland, if you ask for tea, you'd be given regular breakfast tea, usually in a teapot, anything else is fancy so you would need to specify if you want anything different........not that anyone asked 🤭

Omg I was just talking about the cloud with my husband the other day!! And I think I know whyyyy it doesn’t make any sense or at least I think this is why for me. Bc the cloud and the internet in general is like another dimension that humans have created. Like yes planes are an absolute wonder but as you said it’s still amazing engineering. But the cloud and internet?? Absolutely another dimension that we access with our phones and computers! I also wanted to thank you for talking so openly about your ADHD journey. It helped me realize that I have it as well and I'm not a total wacko (as I sometimes feel). My husband also has it, but it presents so differently in each of us.

I usually back all of my photographs up onto external hard drives, I have two of them and I keep a copy of everything on both of them. It's pretty easy once you get into the habit of it.
