    I know a lot of Americans think Instagram Reels are dumb but for Indians they're the perfect replacement of tiktok. Tiktok and other Chinese apps like shein, Rowme was banned in some time ago because of national security reasons and we respect our government's decision. Instagram launched Reels around the same time and we're grateful. Yes we can't watch the trends around the exact same time as you all but we're happy :)

    Room service is a “we went out to dinner but ate too early and now it’s 10 pm and I’m hungry again and also want chocolate cake” sort of thing.

    As a person who worked at a hotel, the amount of room service calls for breakfast is insane ! I remember when the front desk ( my position) had to help the kitchen take room service calls because they couldn’t keep up with the amount of guests calling literally from 7-10AM especially on the weekends

    Ugh I love y’all so much. Eric doing the late trend is not only so millennial and relatable but how precious he does it with no hesitation 🤣🤣🤣 my Relax is always pant sizes… why am I one day a 6 and the next a 12??!?! And why does this make me feel insecure???!! I hate it all

    • @sngray11

      It has happened to me, in a store, the SAME EXACT model of jeans, in the SAME size, sometimes fit and sometimes don't. How can that happen?! They just don't care about the labels I think? It seems so random. I don't know what's going on

    • @ashleymandina6139
      @ashleymandina6139 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I always want Colleen to be so excited when Erik wants to do a trend or anything like that. Mainly because we have watched him grow in front of our eyes from a super shy pretty quiet , didn’t really have to many ideas in the beginning and now he is so comfortable. And I just love that he wanted to do this trend. Lmao. I know she isn’t being mean in anyway. I just want to see her get excited because he wants to do something from social media.
      Ps. I have a 20 year old son and I really think he is going to be a man like Erik. It’s pretty cool to me

    I really love how Eric and Colleen are so supportive with eachother. when eric was doing the trend after he paused to talk for a minute he didnt really know how to get back into the rhythm and Colleen said "you got this". And eric got right back into it. The first time Colleen tried out the trend Colleen was feeling very nervous. Then Eric was said "hey there's no pressure, You can do a short one." and when Colleen tried again she gained her confidence and my heart just melted on how much Eric was just hyping her up while she was doing the trend. God bless this family ❤️

I LOVE long form content… hence I’m watching your podcast.

    I don’t think you need to be embarrassed that people ask if you’re eating all the plates of food that you order, because that sounds like you think they are calling you “fat” when you obviously aren’t. It would be nice if there was a way you could get the food you are craving instantly though, so you wouldn’t waste so much food.

    I recently got pulled by security screening at the airport because I had a change purse with change in it!! The security guy scolded me and asked me why I had sooooo much change!! I told him that I had change in case I wanted things at the hotel in the vending machines. He looked at me like I was crazy and informed me that vending machines take credit cards and debit cards. By the way, I DID use my change for snacks and drinks at the hotel vending machines. He was such an Asshat!!!!🤣🤣

  • @iWuvHuskys
    @iWuvHuskys 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Colleen you have to take into consideration that probably the majority of the time when you're in a hotel it's for tour, so you're not like on a vacation and dont have the time to go out and get dinner. I'm sure it's common that people on business trips order room service dinner, but when other people think of being in hotels they think of being on vacation so they are going out and checking the area out and to eat dinner. I see each perspective and why y'all would have different opinions 😊

    Eric’s relax about the playground really triggered me. I work with a non verbal autistic child and always get anxiety when we go to the playground because he loves to throw things and do many other things that other parents/kids find inappropriate or inconvenient. He isn’t throwing things to hurt ppl, he just really enjoys the whole process of gathering, climbing, throwing things etc. I try to find ways for the activities to be safe for everyone involved, but it makes me sad for him that he is do misunderstood. The kid he was talking about may very well have been neurodiverse.

    • @marybawkward789

      The thing is, being neurodiverse in no way excuses the behavior if people are at risk of getting hurt. I had a child roll up on me at a busy park grabbing and pulling at my friend’s newborn screeching Baby! Baby! She wouldn’t listen to anything we said to stop her and kept stalking us and creeping up at different angles. When her mom showed up we were beyond pissed and she apologized, explaining her daughter is autistic and has thing for babies. No excuse!
      He was annoyed that he and his son could not safely use the slide because the child was unattended, whether autistic or not. It is not his job to consider all of the reasons the kid could be acting that way. That is for the caregiver. If children exhibit behaviors that put others at risk they must be supervised at all times.
      And really people don’t have to give disclaimers every time they discuss their experiences. You’re filling in the blanks with assumptions since he omitted stating the kid could be autistic and we should be mindful and accepting of their differences. True. But it’s also not his job nor his place to educate the public on this. Because really, he is just a dude talking to his wife about an annoying playground encounter and we happen to be listening. He stated himself nothing against the kid and that’s it’s on the adult.

      I work with two kids with autism and it’s my job as an adult to correct their behavior and/or inform the people that the kids have autism. When I apologize and inform people that the kids are neurodivergent they are kind and understanding. Keep an eye on the kids and you’ll be find. Those destructive kids lack supervision. You can’t expect people to know. It’s okay and normal for people to be annoyed by them.

      @@marybawkward789 you shouldn’t have to say sorry for them. Your explanation is sadly the way it is in a society where it doesn’t “take a village”. Everyone should feel responsible or at least protective of children. No neutodiverse child or caretaker should have to apologize for being themselves. The child’s behavior was not dangerous that you described to me, but typical of uptight ppl who get equally frustrated by autistic children, as the autistic children do by being misunderstood. I’m sorry for you, that you feel that way. I’m also sorry for the kid you care for though, living in the prison you’re making for them. Patience and parenting is required from everyone who steps on the playground. It’s a test run of real life and we are supposed to exhibit kindness and acceptance! Let me Stress NON VERBAL autism. This child cannot be corrected in the moment of chaos, as many children are with hyperactivity or meltdowns. First you have to calm down or release some energy. He is in another world and I can try all I want but “corrected” cannot be done at this time. It’s just insensitive of you and all involved.

      @@laurasharp9455 It takes a village is a difficult model to live by in such a large society with vast differences in parenting approaches. I certainly would never stand idly by if a child needs help. I will also gently but firmly hold boundaries with children that are not my own if they cross a line with a child whom can’t or won’t speak for themself. But there are lines that I am uncomfortable crossing with children I don’t know. I do feel responsible for and protective of children which is why I do not tolerate behavior that puts others at risk.
      If it sounds as though I was being unnecessarily uptight during my encounter with the child at the park, let me paint the scene a little more clearly. We were at a large and extremely busy downtown park on a Saturday morning. Two moms were with the younger children while the dads monitored the older kids. Maybe it was a toddler you envisioned approaching us but this was not the case. This child was at least 8yo. And when I say touching the baby I mean she was attempting to grab and pull at a 3 month old baby. Myself and my friend barely clear 5 foot 2 and it took both of us to block the child from the baby for the nearly 2 minutes that she followed us around. It was intense to say the least.
      My frustration and anger was toward a parent that brought their child who tends to uncontrollably reach for babies to a park where there are obviously families with babies present and lost sight of her long enough for an encounter to occur. If that was a child in my care that would be the number one scenario I would ensure we avoid. If that doesn’t sound like a dangerous situation then we can agree to disagree.
      As for the children I care for I would hardly describe them as imprisoned. I’m no where near a perfect parent but I do provide plenty autonomy and freedom of choice, even at a very young age. I attempt to ready them for the real world through validation, modeling behavior, and encouragement. I teach them to be kind and accepting of others no matter the differences but I also teach them uphold boundaries for themselves, which includes inappropriate physical or verbal treatment by others at the park. I am no stranger to meltdowns and I am aware they can often last longer and be more intense for non verbal individuals. However, the point is, caregivers need to be present AND supportive. They can also give cues or instructions to others on ways they can help. But leaving a child to do as they wish at a park with other children present when they are known to cross boundaries is not ok.
      If my older son had witnessed the encounter at the park I would have explained the situation and my feelings around it in an inclusive way. We 100% should be accepting and supportive of neurodiverse individuals but that does not invalidate any of the frustration and anger I felt in that situation.
      And I suppose apologies are not necessary but they are kind.

It was horrible, we ended up getting it all to go because we were tired of him.
