When I made this, I used first painted the ball, made it a kind of marble poured on the paint with glue in it, more than one color. after it was all dried, bottle strips in the ball I mixed glue with a LOT of glitter. Poured it all over the ball (in the garbage can) and it filled in the holes , securely held in the ball strips and then I did the same thing last pour over the ball was the glow in dark paint mixed with the glue. It worked amazingly. water down the glue to make it pour better if necessary. Dry each pour before adding another . Awesome Also when you melt the bottle strips you can twist them wow that is a great effect. Or you can cut them into different shapes. You really got me inspired and thank you so much . Oh ya I cut large leaf type things for the very bottom and had them melted toward the ground like bent over. Looks so cool Wish I could upload a pic here. Again thanks for your inspiration :-)
Hi Louise! Thank you for all of the great tips! You have me thinking of making a bigger leafed one now! If you are on Facebook, be sure to follow me facebook.com/craftklatch1 and be sure to join the Creating With Craft Klatch Group. You can share you pics at both places. facebook.com/groups/CreatingWithCraftKlatch/ I can't wait to see them!
Crazy fun, I thought maybe it was going to be trashy looking but was pleasantly surprised at how cute it is and the glow in the dark was worth it ! In the dark it really looks fun!!!!
To get the heat you ned without all the soot, just find a butane type lighter/torch. The butane burns cleaner, but also hotter, so keep that in mind. You can probably hold the pieces about 3 inches above the visible flame and achieve the same effect without all the mess. Of course, a heat gun will do the trick as well and can be bought for as little as $15-25...and once you have one, you would be amazed how often you will find uses for itl
This has been an adorable project and I will try it. Thank you for this tutorial.I am not seeing as well anymore, and lost some of the desire to continue with crafting, but, mistakenly I got on some of the TH-cam.com sites and this has opened up an entirely new world for me. I appreciate all of these lovely tutorials and the products sheets where I can just order everything I need to make these beauties. Thank you, Thank you. Keep up the beautiful crafting.
When I first saw it I thought I looked like a globe allium, Perhaps one in purple would look neat. I think this could be a fun rainy day project even for kids as long as the heating part is already completed! Lots of cutting.
Dip the plastic in glue before poking in to the foam mix the glow into you glue on ball you can also paint the spikes with pain so in day you can put yor glow on after ❤ very nice and smart looking 💖👍🏾
Just discovered ur channel, & I am impressed & excited about learning a LOT more from you! THANK YOU for giving/sharing your precious time, talent, creativity, resources, & knowledge with ALL of us!😊
Doris This is the first time seeing your craft klatch withmona and i simply loved it. It is truly an adventure to see crafts real crafts. Thank you, thank you i will continue to watch and use your ideas..
just a hint if you ever need it, Ultimate glue works even better if you apply it to both surfaces and let it sit to become tacky before putting they together. (like a contact cement) Love your videos, especially the recycling ones!!!
LOVED YOUR INFO and your creativity…thought maybe if you added some SOLAR LIGHTS at the base of your beautiful creation. It will absolutely add to your incredible creation. ❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉
Oh MONA....these are sooooo verrry, verrry AWESOME.....right up MY alley...LOL!!! It's beautiful and I like it BOTH ways~~~outside and inside...BRAAAAVO!!!! Hope ur Memorial weekend is more exciting than mine...altho I kinda like hangin out with my BFF(my hubby!) just chillin' love ya Lynda A.
This is lovely and creative! I am wondering if this would work out somehow by glueing onto one of those solar light orbs? When I first saw it glowing thats what I thought you did, so just wondering? Hmmm, Ima have to think on this some. TFS!
I made a Dandelion ball a couple of years ago. But I used kebab skewers painted yellow. If you’re going to put this outside, please use silicone construction adhesive.
Can u paint, glue, glow in dark paint w glitter b4 adding the bottle strips into Styrofoam? It seems that it wud b easier an the the plastic strips last.
What sort of glue is it so rain doesn't wash it off? Pva isn't waterproof. The paint also is it just acrylic as it's not waterproof. Was thinking about a coat of outdoor Matt varnish to protect?
Can anyone tell what size waTer bottles you use. I have 16 oz but they don't look near as long as the ones in the video.. This is such a cute idea. Tia 😍
Awesome! I think it is so fantastic! Love love love it! I am a new subscriber Thank you for sharing your wonderful video 🦋💜🦋💜 How many bottles did you use?
Who would have thought that a old dandelion would give someone inspiration. This is awesome, i love it, have to try it. TFS
If you wrapped a string of those tiny fairy lights around threstyrofoam ball I bet they would really make it sparkle!

Thank you Maritza! I'm glad you have found some inspiration again.
This is amazing! It is hard to believe this dandelion is made out of recycled plastic bottles. Great job!
Amazing to thing that was water bottles!! Your so creative!! Super cute!!!!
Thanks Lori!!

Hi Linda - I did a blue flower with thumbtacks that reminds me of a allium. It didn't involve cutting, but sharp pushpins.
If you use 2 pair of tweezers to hold the strips of the bottle it works great
Great tip, Tina! Thanks!
my fav colour looks awesome a whole garden patch of these all different sizes shapes would be so much fun TFS
Cute. Love the glow in the dark effect
Just need to craft a small fairy climbing that Dandelion!
"RIGHT" !😀
That is so cool. That one shot toward the end of the video was pretty good showing how it glows. TFS
Thank you! I'm glad you got a sense of it glowing, but it is so much brighter in person!

Looks really neat. I was worrying about toxic plastic fumes the whole time you were melting all those things. Hope I am wrong.
Thanks! 🙏🏻
The final result is so nice!
Use an iron instead of the candle. Works better. Safer for kids.
How do you use a iron for this project?
I'm going to try freezer paper
Think the thing she was talking about was recycling, and I'm wondering how you'd go about it with freezer paper.😏@@joanrule8152
Great craft! can't wait to make my own glow-in-the-dark flower garden!

Very cool, after my hand heals I will have to try making some with Kaitlynn!
What happened to your hand Aimee? Hope it's okay. I think Kaitlynn would be the perfect helper on a project like this!
I have a hairline fracture of my left hand :( Tripped going up concrete stairs and hit the edge of the step trying to catch myself.
Looks pretty cool!!!
Thank you!

If it's going into the ground, wouldn't you want to cover the entire dowel in waterproof resin so it doesn't rot?
