    Beautiful, I broke my wrist it's been about 5,6, and just going to get back into my beading. I have so many supplies to keep 20 to 40 people busy for many year's .😅😊

    Great idea! As a jewelry maker I have tons of mismatched, slightly scratched or deformed glass beads. This is a wonderful use for them! Thanks for sharing your technique! I'm going to make one for me and both my sisters!

      And… the heavier the beads, the more it weighs down the wire, so it gets longer. I’ve also done them with charms hung throughout. Super versatile. Enjoy!

    I've been designing and making jewelry for many years. I've worked with memory wire before. I was not familiar with the "knee" technique for relaxing and extending memory wire. That is a great technique. Thanks!💜

    When I tie fishing line or use elastic to make bracelets zi drop one drop of glue on the knot to hold it.

    I actually made one of these before I ran across your video. I guess the beads I used must've been heavier because I didn't need to stretch the memory wire out. Still got some pretty good ideas from your video though so thank you for sharing. Love new inspiration for an idea.

      The wire is 6 'rings' long

  • @user-NELZZ

    Just what I was looking for. I have 1,000 6mm bicones that are too rough for bracelets. I wondered how to make my memory wire stay stretched out. Now I'm on a mission. Thank you!

    • @user-NELZZ
      @user-NELZZ 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I tried stretching like you said, obviously a wind-up. I guess you knew we'd realise all we needed to do was add a bit of weight to the bottom of the spiral. I used large glass pendants. Thanks anyway got all the beads used up.

    • @DragonflyShops
      @DragonflyShops  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Such a great way to use up extra beads. And the heavier the beads, the longer it stretches, even if they are incorporated throughout.

    A suggestion...I would put a itty bitty dot of E6000 on the fishing line knots to secure the knots from coming apart.

    Hello, thank you for sharing. I was wondering does the cording act as the holder? Meaning is that how you hang it? I’m not a jewelry maker, but I love sun catchers. I want to replicate it and make one for my sister. I appreciate your answers.

    • @DragonflyShops

    What kind of mat do you have on the table that you are working on? I have a small living space so really don't have a work area and now that the weather is nicer, I can work outside.

    Thank you for sharing! I ran straight to the shop and made a small one but the curl is off balance (like your black one in the intro video). Do you know how to correct this?

    • @DragonflyShops
      @DragonflyShops  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Sometimes, if I 'over' straighten it, or it's too wonky, I'll run the wire between my thumb and index finger, the this seems to return a lot of the curl to it. Try that, and let me know if that works.

    What size or gauge is the wire you use? And how long is the wire?

    • @GroovyWorx
      @GroovyWorx ปีที่แล้ว

      Use 20 to 24 gauge... The higher the number the thinner the wire... Maybe start with 22g

  • @clorenzo8942

    I tried your method and the wire got all tangled up, and misshapen.

    I love these sun catchers and have ordered another round of 3 today! My question is what is the best way to hang these from the trees or branches or wherever, i can't really tell from the intro part of your tutorial. I guess I can use a long piece of fishing line and tie it to the sun catcher and then tie to the branch. Just curious what you used. Thanks again for these kits!

    • @DragonflyShops
      @DragonflyShops  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I typically use fishing line to hang them. Glad you like them.

  • @Disneylover024

    If I made this which I will for a gift I would tie the fishing line as if I was putting a fishing hook on it. Yep! My father taught me everything about fishing.

    • @DragonflyShops
      @DragonflyShops  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi. Regular memory wire. Bracelet size. I don't thin the heavy duty would provide enough 'stretch'.

    I'm going to try this using acrylic beads

    • @DragonflyShops
      @DragonflyShops  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Since acrylic beads aren't as heavy as glass beads, you might want to try adding something heavier at the very bottom of the wire to hold it down. Either way, it will be pretty. Enjoy.
