Have tried just about every recipe out there for keto bread and have not liked any of them, so many times you read the comments and people still say it was really good but it wasn’t this time. This recipe is a winner after I sliced it I cooked it in my toaster oven a couple times because it is quite moist but all in all this is the best keto bread I’ve ever had.

Hi Maya, first I would like to say how much I enjoy watching you making wonderful foods that I can eat. You see I am diabetic and until now I have been struggling in finding the right foods I can eat without raising my blood glucose. I was introduced to your channel by Pastor Dennis Pollock and his lovely wife Benedicta’s channel “Beat Diabetes”. I have not been eating bread for a very long time. I do miss it tremendously until now. I tried making your bread today and was amazed by the outcome. My husband, too, commented on how it looks, taste and feels like regular bread. Thanks so much. I think that I needed to cook it a bit longer as there were two soft spots in it but nothing the toaster oven would not fix. I will try again soon and let you know how it turns out. Thanks again. I have also tried your chaffle recipe. Many thanks again! Writing from 🇨🇦
Thank you so much for the kind words, Xena! I’m so glad you and your husband liked the bread. :) I hope you’ll subscribe to my channel if you like recipes like this - I’ll be posting more - if you haven’t already?
We are also new to the keto world and diabetes. Keto diet has done wonders for my husband blood sugars. They put him on different medication‘s and nothing worked As effectively as a very low carb diet. I wish you well on your journey.
I haven't made this yet but I'm trying to help out a LOT of commenters - the flavor in an egg is in the egg yolk. This recipe uses only the egg whites. Egg-white-only omelets are pretty tasteless and dull. This bread shouldn't be overly eggy like many other keto bread recipes are, simply because she doesn't use the yolks. Also, all of her recipes are amazing! Her website is my Keto recipe go-to. And I LOVE her almond crackers (maybe a little too much..lol). :)
THANK YOU! I made a loaf of this today and it tastes really good. I was using bought pure egg whites (pasteurised) and my new Bamix and I was worried about over whipping them and having to throw them out. I had 2 variables so next time I will use fresh egg whites and hopefully get them to whip up properly. The size ended up about a regular slice of bread cut in half. I have an oven that the on knob is also a time and it only makes a quiet "ding" when it goes off and I missed it (is fairly new and I have baked much in it). I was very thankful that you had included the inside temp (and I had received my thermometer a few weeks ago) but I only ended up getting it to between 190-195 and lost my patience. But when I cut it in the middle there was only the tiniest patch that was a little bit moister than the rest so I consider myself very lucky. I'm looking forward to having a ham, tomato and cheese sandwich for tea tonight.
First off I love the video and just tried this recipe turned out great compared to a lot of the other keto breads I've tried, I use all of the optional ingredients + some various herbs and spices and the bread turned out fantastic! The thing I miss most as a kid being on keto now is Cinnamon toast Crunch, I'd love to see a keto version I know it won't be easy but totally would be worth it! Stay safe! Cheers 🇨🇦

Very roughly, a guideline 1/4 cup coconut flour can be replaced with 1 cup almond flour and reducing an egg, but I’m not sure that it would work in this recipe. This one has only a little coconut flour so you couldn’t be about to taste it at all. I don’t like my breads tasting like coconut, either. Thank you for subscribing! ❤️
Interesting vid but it is so much work... and eggs! Is there a simpler one please? I'm not on keto but I'm mostly looking for breads without sugar and wanted to try to this one. Thanks
Hi Kathy, This low carb bread is simpler: www.wholesomeyum.com/recipes/low-carb-bread-recipe-almond-flour-bread-paleo-gluten-free/ or if you want super quick, try 90 second bread: www.wholesomeyum.com/keto-90-second-bread-recipe/
Can you believe a nice Cubano sandwich, Cuban Mix, is over 60 carbs, but without the bread it is 6g of carbs. Shocking! They used lard to make them in Key West and around 4 in the morning when they baked the bread all of White Street smelled so nice. They were also baking guava treats so it was very nice going in to work smelling your neighborhood. Can you make keto Cuban buns? The real ones that they don't make anymore had a center line of dough down the length that we would eat first.
Wow, what a difference! I have never tried to make Cuban buns, but I do have a recipe for regular keto buns in my cookbook here: www.wholesomeyum.com/keto-carbs-cookbook/ and you can watch a video showing how they look here: th-cam.com/users/shortsIlyJKzaeya4
I will be making this for sure. But ill have to use different brands of flours . I'll let u know how it comes out. BTW can u do this in a stand mixer. I don't have a food processor?
I've enjoyed all the recipes of yours for the last 3 yrs whenever I go keto. Always hit the spot! But, now I'm looking to resume my keto journey but have no food processor. Can I mix this any other way? By hand or hand mixer or sth? Dont want t obuy a food processor. I'm a student.
Thank you so much for the kind words, Sarah! I'm sorry, I haven't tried making this without a food processor so am not sure. A hand mixer or stand mixer might work if you're able to pulse it, or possibly you could try by hand. Let me know how it goes if you try any of these methods.
Sorry, eggs are a key component of this recipe so it wouldn't work without eggs. I have other keto bread recipes here, most of them have eggs but flax eggs might work as a substitute in some of them (not in this one though): www.wholesomeyum.com/category/low-carb-bread/
Do you have a recipe with cassava flour? I am not able to use almond flour because of the lectins. I typically use cassava and coconut flour combo for keto pancake. I understand cassava is higher carb but I cannot consume almond flour. Other nut flours are a bit too flavorful for breads. Thanks!
One of my least favorite things to do in the kitchen is separate egg whites from egg yolks. Can carton egg whites be used in place of fresh? They work fine in the PSMF bread I make, but that recipe doesn't have any flours in it, so I don't know if that makes a difference. Thank you.
Yes, egg whites in a carton will work. Just make sure you measure out measurement equivalent to what this recipe calls for. I hate using actual eggs to separate if I don't have a recipe lined up to use all those yolks!
Hi Patty, Yes, you can use carton egg whites, just make sure they are at room temperature and it may take a bit longer for them to reach peaks. The cream of tartar is also more crucial when using carton egg whites.
I tried this, made couole small changes like olive oil instead of butter and a few drios of apple cider vinegar in the egg white and a bit of yeast for bread like flavor, it turned out good, a tiny bit eggy but not so bad, however the thing I didn't like is tagt it's not chewy or holding together I wander if adding more xanthan gum would fix that? 🤔
Hi Asmaa, I haven't tried it with those changes so that may be the reason it didn't hold together, I'm not sure. You could try adding more xanthan gum, but I found that when I added more it started to taste kind of gummy. With the loaf you already have, popping it in the toaster can make it more sturdy.
Hi Tracy, I haven’t tried this recipe with egg substitutes, but aquafaba would be a closer substitute for the whites, I don’t think a flax egg would work to replace those. You can learn more about different egg substitutes and what they are best for here: www.wholesomeyum.com/egg-substitutes/
Hi! Can this bread recipe be used as a banana bread as well? My dad is diabetic and your recipes work amazingly well for his strict no carb diet. He does miss a good old banana loaf though...
Though my loaf turned out tasty, it was only the height of a half loaf. Good texture and could make decent mini sandwiches but not wide enough for a hamburger. How could I have gotten more height? It was a familiar taste but couldn’t place it until the third slice, cornbread. Is this the approximate flavor or did I do something wrong?
It's possible that the egg whites broke down a little too much, or it needed to be baked for longer and fell. You could also use a smaller loaf pan next time to make it taller. Hope this helps and glad it still tasted good!
I have some ideas for using the yolks in the description below the video! Pasting them for you here: ► Keto lava cake: www.wholesomeyum.com/keto-lava-cake/ ► Keto flan: www.wholesomeyum.com/keto-flan-recipe/ ► Low carb coconut cream pie: www.wholesomeyum.com/keto-coconut-cream-pie-recipe/ ► Almond milk ice cream: www.wholesomeyum.com/almond-milk-ice-cream-recipe/ ► Hollandaise sauce: www.wholesomeyum.com/hollandaise-sauce/
Ummm...breakfast! :) I often fry up just yolks for bfast because I've used the whites for something else. Add some veggies and make an omelet. Or, you could try dipping the bread in them for some french toast. Yolks are easy to use when low-carbing.
Hi Janet, The egg whites deflate more easily with those tools, but you could try it to see how it goes. Or try mixing by hand with a spatula, being careful not to deflate the whites but still get the batter uniform like the video.
A lil tip for muslims who are hesitant to use cream of tartar. Just use your sweetener in beating the eggs instead of adding it to the dry ingredients. Woks the same
I don't think that would work in this recipe, though I haven't tried it. If you prefer not to use xanthan gum, for this recipe it's better to just omit it rather than replace with something else.
Yes, you can use liquid egg whites. To help them whip well, I recommend adding a pinch of cream of tartar and bring the egg whites to room temperature. I have not tried egg white protein powder, not sure if that would work.
I wouldn’t recommend that for this recipe, but I have a yeast bread recipe coming up in my second cookbook! It’s available for preorder here: amzn.to/3GCBRZJ
Hi Diana, No, I don't think it tastes or smells eggy at all. You can read the reviews here at the bottom of the page: www.wholesomeyum.com/recipes/easy-paleo-keto-bread-recipe/
Hello there! New subscribers here and we tried to make your 5 ingredient white bread. Followed recipe carefully and cut very fluffy egg white peaks, very "firm" but the bread did not rise at all ! We used egg whites from the carton but they were labeled as cage free egg whites with no other ingredients. We live in Southeast Florida - but have had AC on all day so don't think it is climate related. HELP! We so want this to work!
Just attempted this and knew soon as added butter to flour mix & pulse blend it made more doughy bits than any crumbling. However carried on and at the end when tried to fold in whites, really struggled to conform together and could see bits of dry bits in the mix,not streaks tho. And like you said it will bake with flour bits in bread something like that. I'm baking it anyway and will report back. Just so frustrating when u do everything to a video and batter doesn't look the same etc.
Ok, I have to comment. This is the best keto bread I have ever had. Truelly you just made my weight loss far easier. A word of advice for Europeans. If you want more traditionally tasting bread just skip the sweatener entirely.

I am definitely trying this! I hate chaffles!
Let me know what you think when you try it!
What is Besti composed of?
Monk fruit and allulose. You can learn more here: www.wholesomeyumfoods.com/shop/sweeteners/monk-fruit/monk-fruit-allulose-blend/
Just subscribed from sunny London.
Thank you for subscribing, Uma!
I will be making this for sure. But ill have to use different brands of flours . I'll let u know how it comes out. BTW can u do this in a stand mixer. I don't have a food processor?
Hi Jennifer, I haven't tried it in a stand mixer, but in theory that should work as long as you are able to pulse it.
What to substitute egg whites for
I've enjoyed all the recipes of yours for the last 3 yrs whenever I go keto.
Could you please suggest the recipe for an eggless version of this?
Sorry, eggs are a key component of this recipe so it wouldn't work without eggs. I have other keto bread recipes here, most of them have eggs but flax eggs might work as a substitute in some of them (not in this one though): www.wholesomeyum.com/category/low-carb-bread/
Do you have a recipe with cassava flour? I am not able to use almond flour because of the lectins. I typically use cassava and coconut flour combo for keto pancake. I understand cassava is higher carb but I cannot consume almond flour. Other nut flours are a bit too flavorful for breads. Thanks!
Thank u
I’m allergic to almonds. Is there something else I could use that would be comparable?
Can you double the recipe and bake at the same time?
Anyone ever try vegan egg? Usually that is a flax based viscose. I guess if I can whip them they might work.
If you don’t have a food processor, can a blender be used?
Saludos desde Puerto Rico. Puedo hacerlo con las claras de huevo q vienen ya ready? Cuanto seria la medida? Me encanto esta receta y quisiera hacerla.
Thank you so much for your comment! I’m sorry, my Spanish is very limited!
Otra persona hizo tu pregunta en inglés y le dijeron que sí.
I am searching for an Almond bread 🍞 recipe eggless using Xanthan Gum please please please I can't find one am pleading for one 😢 🙏
Looks great. does it taste eggy?
Thank you! Nope, it doesn't since it's just the whites.
Thank you
You're very welcome, Stacy! Hope you'll subscribe :)
@@WholesomeYum Done.
Hi! Can this bread recipe be used as a banana bread as well? My dad is diabetic and your recipes work amazingly well for his strict no carb diet. He does miss a good old banana loaf though...
Not from this recipe but you can make low carb banana bread like this: th-cam.com/video/nKNi8tnx6qw/w-d-xo.html
Looks great! I can’t tolerate xanthum gum, are there any substitutes I could use?
Another gum would work but you could also omit
Glucomannon would work.
@@maddisonbythesea3015 yes!
@@WholesomeYum would psyllium husk work and if so, would you still use 1/2 tsp?
Though my loaf turned out tasty, it was only the height of a half loaf. Good texture and could make decent mini sandwiches but not wide enough for a hamburger. How could I have gotten more height?
It was a familiar taste but couldn’t place it until the third slice, cornbread. Is this the approximate flavor or did I do something wrong?
It's possible that the egg whites broke down a little too much, or it needed to be baked for longer and fell. You could also use a smaller loaf pan next time to make it taller. Hope this helps and glad it still tasted good!
I’ll try your recipe tomorrow. But I’m just thinking, what am I gonna do with the egg yolks? Flan maybe 🤔 for dessert 🍮 ??
You could make mayo with the egg yolks.
I have some ideas for using the yolks in the description below the video! Pasting them for you here:
► Keto lava cake: www.wholesomeyum.com/keto-lava-cake/
► Keto flan: www.wholesomeyum.com/keto-flan-recipe/
► Low carb coconut cream pie: www.wholesomeyum.com/keto-coconut-cream-pie-recipe/
► Almond milk ice cream: www.wholesomeyum.com/almond-milk-ice-cream-recipe/
► Hollandaise sauce: www.wholesomeyum.com/hollandaise-sauce/
I decided to cook them for my doggie
Ummm...breakfast! :) I often fry up just yolks for bfast because I've used the whites for something else. Add some veggies and make an omelet. Or, you could try dipping the bread in them for some french toast. Yolks are easy to use when low-carbing.
Can you use egg whites from supermarket instead of separating all those eggs?
Hi, i really enjoy your videos, but tell me is there a version of this bread that does use that many eggs?
Hi Nadeen, Not for this one, but my keto yeast bread only needs 4 eggs: th-cam.com/video/shk2RNGcWIc/w-d-xo.html
Hi! could we only use covonut flour? cause nut allergie thank you.
Not for this recipe, but I have a nut-free coconut flour bread recipe here: www.wholesomeyum.com/keto-low-carb-coconut-flour-bread-recipe/
Tasty Recipe
Thank you!
Just subcribed...want to learn more i'm on keto diet🥰
Thank you, Cloise! Welcome!
Do you have any good recipes for really crusty baguettes?
Not yet but I'll add this to my list!
Can you use your stand mixer for this, or do you have to use the food processor?
Hi Shannon, Stand mixer might work, if you're able to pulse it the way I did with the food processor.
Can I bake it in the air fryer? If I can, would you have a recommendation for temp and baking time?
I haven't tried that, sorry! It might work of you can fit the plan in there and would expect to need a lower temp but not sure how long it would take.
@@WholesomeYum Thank you! Yes, I think it needs a lower temp.
How many carbs in a slice. Thank you
Hi Yolanda, Full macros are on the recipe card here: www.wholesomeyum.com/recipes/easy-paleo-keto-bread-recipe/
I don’t have a food processor. Can this be made without one? I do have a stand mixer and large blender.
Hi Janet, The egg whites deflate more easily with those tools, but you could try it to see how it goes. Or try mixing by hand with a spatula, being careful not to deflate the whites but still get the batter uniform like the video.
Can we use egg white powder instead of egg whites? And if I can use egg white powder, how much quantity it can replace?
Hi Kavitha, I’ve never tried that but don’t think so. I assume you can’t get that to peaks? If you can, it would work, but I’m not sure what amount.
@@WholesomeYum so what you would do with the leftover yolks?
A lil tip for muslims who are hesitant to use cream of tartar. Just use your sweetener in beating the eggs instead of adding it to the dry ingredients. Woks the same
Thanks for the tip, Samiya! You could also leave out the cream of tartar, as it's optional, but does help the whites create peaks more quickly.
Can I use carton egg whites pls? How ma y gramms of egg whites. Thanks😊
Yes, you can. It's about 1 1/2 cups of egg whites.
What can we dowiththe yolks.?
I have ideas listed in the video description above :)
Can I use flax instead of xanthan gum?
I don't think that would work in this recipe, though I haven't tried it. If you prefer not to use xanthan gum, for this recipe it's better to just omit it rather than replace with something else.
Is it possible to make this with egg white protein powder instead?
I haven’t tried that but I don’t think so, sorry.
Can I use liquid egg whites or egg white protein powder?
Yes, you can use liquid egg whites. To help them whip well, I recommend adding a pinch of cream of tartar and bring the egg whites to room temperature. I have not tried egg white protein powder, not sure if that would work.
@@WholesomeYum thanks
Can you use carton egg whites?
Yes, you can. Make sure they are at room temp and use the cream of Tartar. They might take longer to whip.
If i buy the white eggs, like how much i have to use?
Hi Luis, It's 1 1/2 cups if you measure out carton egg whites.
I don’t need a food processor to mix this and it will still be good bread?
You can try without, it’s just harder to mix evenly without breaking down the whites.
I know you have a bread mix, not available in Australia. Can you add the yeast to this recipe, and get a similar result ?
I wouldn’t recommend that for this recipe, but I have a yeast bread recipe coming up in my second cookbook! It’s available for preorder here: amzn.to/3GCBRZJ
I made a Leto bread with whipped eggs white and it stunk like eggs. I didn’t even eat it. Does this smell or taste eggy?
I tried a couple keto bread recipes as well. I couldn't take the smell either. I think this one will be the same because of the amount of egg whites.
Hi Diana, No, I don't think it tastes or smells eggy at all. You can read the reviews here at the bottom of the page: www.wholesomeyum.com/recipes/easy-paleo-keto-bread-recipe/
You make your own flour ?
Yes! It’s available here: www.wholesomeyumfoods.com/shop/flours/almond-flour/
What if you can't use coconut flour?
How can i substitute it?
There isn't a substitute for this recipe, but I have other keto bread recipes here: www.wholesomeyum.com/category/low-carb-bread/
Can you tell me carbs/calories/fat/protein please?
Full nutrition info is in the post here : www.wholesomeyum.com/recipes/easy-paleo-keto-bread-recipe/ (on the recipe card)
Does it have to be that many eggs?
Yes, it does.
Can I use almond meal instead ?
Hi Satheesh, I don't recommend using almond meal. The texture will be gritty.
@@WholesomeYum Thank you
What to do if the batter consistency is a little runny compared to that shown in the video?
Hi Deepa, that means the whipped egg whites broke down. Try either whipping them for longer or folding more gently next time.
Wow ..a lot of egg whites
Yes! It makes the bread light and fluffy.
How many total carbs are there per slice
Hi Pam, Full macros are here: www.wholesomeyum.com/recipes/easy-paleo-keto-bread-recipe/
What was the end result like?
🤩
