Civic 2004, Rough Idle, low rpms - O2 Sensor suspect

  • Hi, first clarify that I do not speak english very well so I apologize if I mispelled something.
Well I have a 7th gen honda civic (2004 LX) with 80 km in it
The car has never given problems however a few months ago, began to have an annoying issue once the engine is warm
When I'm in traffic especially in slights accelerations the rpms get really low and the car shakes and sometimes stall
    The symptoms are:
    Low power
    Rough Idle
    Hesitation
    Reduced MPG
    Stalling
    Low RPMs
Having searched on the internet, advised to clean or replace the IAC valve, I have a familar that got me one second hand IAC worked perfectly, the car did not have problems in the early days, however unfortunately the faliure is back.
I take the car to workshop to check it but they did not find the cause since MIL never turn on so it was not scanned
A week later, I decided to take it to scanner just in case, and the computer showed a error code referring to the ECT Sensor. so that the sensor was replaced and the car gave no problems that day, but the next day the failure COME BACK
Yesterday I read on the internet that the O2 sensor is a common failure on this honda cars, so I decided to disconnect the sensor to see how the car reacted and my video is about that test.
I think it's very possible that the cause of the failure is the sensor. As you can see in the video, if l start the car with the sensor plugged, once the engine is warm and I make slights accelerations, the engine shakes (Water waves in the glass) almost stalling like everyday
However with the sensor unplugged, the car idle perfectly with 0 shakes, of course MIL turn on by lack of sensor ..
I'm thinking leave the sensor disconnected tomorrow and see how the car reacts ..
What do you think guys, may be the cause of failure?
    Already replaces parts:
    ECT Sensor
    IAC Valve

Its your o2 sensor, if you get that engine code read, it will tell you what exact sensor it is. My 2000 Mitsubishi eclipse o2 sensor bank 2 sensor one is bad and popped an engine code. My rpms go around 500 now so I'm gonna replace it in a few days so that should fix the problem. If you wait too long to replace it, you'll destroy your catalytic converter, I was told.

I had similar problem. Tried cleaning intake and all but the root cause of problem was needing a new Electric Load Detector. Sometimes it would go so low after coming out of gear engine would stall. On top of that clean your intake, throttle body, and check vacuum pressure. My car show check engine during these problems either.

I just had this exact same thing happen to me. . That's why i am here. Except in my case the Check Engine Light Code says to replace that specific Sensor. I believe the code was P0132 Oxygen Sensor High Voltage (Bank 1 Sensor 1) I'm quite sure it's the. Sensor that's causing my car to stall and seem as if it's going to shut off. It also has very low rpm.

02 sensor is for emissions it would only cause low MPG... seems like a spark plug problem really id replace all spark plugs and ignition coils if someone is having same issues.

I finally got my car fixed that had similar problem...it was a piston that was stucked. Some debri fell into the the piston "shaft" or hole and was preventing the piston from moving. We took the spark plug out and the debri flew out. Now it's running good!
