(2020) Yamaha XMAX 300 Top Speed Run With GPS Speedometer | 4K

- What's up everyone!
Here's my 2018 Yamaha XMAX 300, fully stock except for the mirrors. The top speed for my XMAX 300 is 94/95mph on the clock. However, I decided to cross-check this with a speed app on my phone to see if it was accurate.
The app says the top speed is 89mph. So there's a difference of around 6mph in the measurements. This was me fully tucked and throttle wide open with the road going slightly downhill. Although it felt like the wind was going against me.
Let me know in the comments if you guys have the same speed or experienced a different result!
Anyway, this will be my last top speed attempt on this bike unless I decide to change anything with the exhaust or engine components.

That's awesome bro. Yea looks like it will go over 90 if you had a longer straight away thats flat. Looked like some of the road was slightly up incline. Does the Xmax have the adjustable windshield? I remember one bike not sure if it was Xmax or the Burghman but you can hit a control and move the windscrean up or down? Yea on my helix the windscreen isn't quite high enough and I get wind in my face so I have to diuck a little. I always liked the Xmax. Thx for video I liked and subscribed
Yeah the windscreen is adjustable and has 2 positions. You would need yo unscrew bolts to adjust because it’s not electric or mechanically adjustable
I wanted the Xmax 300 so bad, but budget kept me at an Smax 155 for now. Outperforms the 150 size class quite decisively, IMO, but damn do I love everything about the Xmax. Next goal, torn between new Smax or used, parallel-twin Tmax or Burgman. Thanks for the great videos.
Ridin' Montana 4K I think if I were to move on from the XMAX 300, I’d probably get TMAX or the Honda X ADV! I’m not really a fan of the burgman’s looks, reminds me of a Beluga Whale 🐳
@@tapecknows Haha, funny you mention that because when in Bali, I've seen maybe 3 Burgmans in 4 years. They're too damned fat to to be slicing between lines of cars and the sidewalk, which is a must for SE Asia riding. PCX and Nmax are Indonesia's top touring and sport-touring scoots by sales, and have all the power you need. With there engine size capped by regulation at 250cc, it's a waste of money even to go Forza or Xmax.

Great video. It was close. I ended up getting a Vespa 300. I love it. The Yamaha’s are very nice scooters. I guess it came down to i was more into the classic look opposed to the sport scooters. Maybe my next one will be this style.
Good choice! I would love a Vespa 300 as well, I may even swap my XMAX now that I work from home most of the time, I no longer need a true commuting machine :)
@@tapecknows its incredible. I got the white racing 60’s. It’s awesome. To be fair there is 1 thing i don’t like. I can't fit anything but a half helmet under the seat. I do just hang my helmet on the inside. Aside from that its incredible.

It’s the stock colour from Yamaha, ot sure about the name, maybe Midnight Blue? The colour was available from 2016 - 2019 I think

Idk if this is a thing in your country but do you guys have like motorcycle clubs for the same motorcycle? Ours have xmax owners association and have annual meet up and rides
We have some Facebook groups and owners groups but I don’t think we have have an established association where we have organised rides. It’s a shame though because that would be I something I’d join! Where are you based?
I was debating on getting a muscle car, SUV, motorcycle or a scooter, I have to say I’m definitely going with the scooter, I don’t have much money and due to the Pandemic public transportation in New York is horrible, you’re basicly putting yourself at risk of catching the virus, I’m an essential worker so I’m still working, I’m not receiving unemployment checks like everyone else, so I still have to go to work, a Scooter is perfect for me, I was gonna go for the Honda ADV 150 but I think I read that I can’t go on the highway with a 149CC scooter, and that is definitely a necessity for me because the only way to get to my job is to take the highway, there’s no regular streets around it and I’m convinced that the Yamaha XMax is way better, I’m sorry to trouble you but could you give me an idea of how much Insurance is for this Scooter in your area? And do you need a motercycle license? I just have no idea how to start on buying one of these
Oh I see, yeah a scooter is very practical especially during these times. I'm curious about the Honda ADV 150 actually, as I like the looks of that as well. Since you need the larger engine, you can't go wrong with the XMAX 300. I live in London and insurance is around £400 for the year. I'm not sure if that figure will help you in New York. Over here, you need to have a motorcycle licence to ride this, but in the US I'd imagine you need to take the MSF course.

My 2019 XMAX had a top speed of 87 mph on my GPS. The speedometer showed 92 mph. Only tried it once but based on what others have gotten I would say it’s about average. The speedometer on the XMAX reads about 5 mph optimistic.
Yeahh very similar to mine! I’m planning on fitting the malossi variator and clutch kit on mine once the 12,000 mile service comes around. Would be good to see the difference it makes, if any!

honda forza 300 has the same 90 on speedo but only 85mph
How's the vibration around 120-150 kph?
Any discomfort on the handling?
None at all, feels smooth to me

85mpg is pretty close to top speed
did it reach 140kph top speed with OBR and just u alone sir?
Yes it reached 153km/h just me. I haven't tested it with an OBR.
@@tapecknows tried it top speed and has 5km/hr discrepancy. I haven't tried removing the windshield yet and have it on full throttle

Hey, how tall are you and can you touch the floor ok? I'm 5.6ft. Some say the seat is wide.
5ft 8 and yeah the seat is quite wide. I can’t flat foot on both feet. I can only flat foot on 1 side when I’m leant slightly on one side

@@darkelf1000 Ahh yeah, they're closed right now. I think at 5' 6" you can still ride the XMAX, but you have to shift to the front of the seat to put both legs down. Your leg measurement will make a difference as well and not just height
tapec.. what is the top speed on kph?
The top speed on the bike was 95mph (153km/h) but on the app it says 89mph (145km/h)
I want to get the xmax 400/500 but they are hard to find in my area!
I think the 500s are in the TMAX range and definitely a different breed! Where do you live?

Here to ask a stupid question. What’s the real difference between a motorcycle and this scooter? Are scooters just a throttle and that’s it? I want one but I don’t want something complicated like a motorcycle where you have to switch gears and all that. Are scooters just a twist throttle and your good to go?
Yeah essentially, scooters are automatic motorcyles. So if you wanted something that's twist-and-go, you'd be looking at scooters
tapecknows now what exactly should I do in terms of licenses? I have a driver’s license. But I don’t want to have to take a motorcycle class and take a motorcycle test when I don’t want to ride a motorcycle. What’s the correct process to get a permit or whatever? Do I HAVE to take a motorcycle class/test?

Ahh I don’t know how the licensing works there but I’d imagine you have to take the Motorcycle Safety Course (MSF)

Nice bike for sure and plenty fast enough, but man does it have a steep price tag, i looked at one and the dealer wanted $5, 695 + $1,200 shipping fee + tax, + title + some kind of set up fee ! When all said and done they wanted just over $7,000 for a scooter, lmao, i bought a used suzuki gsxr 1000 instead 👍. (edited because of typo)

Here in Philippines our nmax is power than your 90kph or something shit on ur top speed video we have 170 -190 kph.
