As a kid playing this game i tried to get through every single level and exit of this game. I had the most trouble with Valley Fortress and finding the entrance to Chocolate Secret respectively due to those pillars that squash you in an instant and my confusion of trying to find the key respectively. all impossible exits (credit to jackwsm): Donut Ghost House - Secret, Cheese Bridge Area - Secret, Soda Lake, Star World 1 - Both exits, Valley of Bowser 4 - Secret As well as the four switch Palaces, due to the category restriction
There’s also the one forest of illusion level where you have to break turn blocks to get to the keyhole underground if I am not mistaken. Haven’t watched the full TAS yet but that would be the tenth exit that’s missing
I like this particular take on the super mario speed run. If you're just going to grab a cape and fly off screen the entire time, what's there for me to watch?
Now here’s another challenge. Try beating the game without any power ups AND without glitching. I’ve tried. It’s impossible. You need a super mushroom to get the secret exit of Forest of Illusion 3, which is necessarily to get out of the Forest. You can also exit by using the secret exit in Forest of Illusion 4, which does not require a power up. That will take you to the Forest Secret and then the Fortress, and then Star Road, which will make you do Star Worlds 3 and 4, and it is not possible to get the secret exit of Star World 4 without a Cape Feather.
Can't get up high for secret ghost exit to unlock the secret items cache level. Can't use Yoshi to get Key to unlock secret path to Bowser Star Road. Can't get either exit on 1st Star Road level, because you need to be big to break any of the yellow bricks. And skipping 4 Switch Palaces. That's 8 exits I can think of off the top of my head. What are the other two? I'm thinking maybe a couple of other inaccessible Keys that are behind a wall (Yoshi) or under yellow bricks (Mushroom), but I can't remember.
I didnt realize that stars were considered ok. I thought that it was included in list of banned powerups. When i first watched this as it got to sunken ship i was like CHEATEEEEEER!!! LOL
@@arachnidz7750 That seems like a weird technicality. After all, even if you become small Mario at the end of the level, it still gives you an extra hit and special powers during the level.
