      Same here, we have the wet and heavy snow that sticks to just about anything that's not heated, I need a pair of LED bulbs that produces heat to heat up the entire lamp or at least the lenses.

      I bought these bulbs, they do not heat enough to melt anything. The heat difference between these bulbs and other LEDs is negligible. I was highly disappointed, they just sit in a box now in the trunk unused, waste of money. I installed halogens back in. These LED bulbs are not even as bright as the halogens. Again, huge disappointment and waste of money.

    • @aidensmith1054

      @@rsreidy I would agree, a major dissapointment on the actual usability of the concept. They have the concept right but as for how well it works, it needed another couple years of RND.... The beam pattern is awesome though, just as advertised

    • @rsreidy
      @rsreidy 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@aidensmith1054 the weather is a bit warmer now so I swapped these bulbs back in. Agreed, beam pattern is spot on. But still disappointed about not generating enough heat for the housing. That was 50% of the reason I bought them. I do have to say they were simple to adjust too. So I’m like 50/50 on them.

You have to send in a proof of destruction photo within 60 days of replacement though but that's a great return policy. I use the sv4s as fog lights and they are nice and bright. I'd use the sv4s as my drl and low/highs but that Morimoto horizon line it throws is a competition killer. Seeing that on the road is bad ass.

    Been running these for about a month on my 2013 f150 with stock halogen headlight.
    Before they arrived I was worried I was just doing a LED bulb and not a whole light replacement.
    But the results blew my mind. The difference between the stock halogen and these morimotos is incredible. I have mine adjusted and the beam pattern does match the stock a lot but its significantly brighter. Its also got a very white temp with very little blue or yellow. So far no on-coming traffic has flashed me so im assuming they dont cause as much blinding as some other led/hid options.

    2017 Chevy Cruze here with projectors. Ended up returning these bulbs.
    I half baked measured the light output with my phone and the leds were brighter but not by a whole lot (roughly 1200 vs 1500). Visually they weren’t much brighter either. Their color had a hint of blue which matched my daytime running lights perfectly but I actually wish they were just pure white or as close as can be. Beam pattern was very close to stock. But on the road they seemed to make odd patterns sort of like you’d see when light passes through shaped glass. Didn’t help me see much more than OEM at night. Fan was not loud at all. It did help heat up the projector housing so I’m confident it would partially melt snow off of your headlight. Because bulb sticks out more than halogen my dust caps would not fit.
    Headlight Revolution was a pleasure to deal with. 8 out of 10 will most likely love these headlights.

    I was getting really excited hearing about how it mimics factory beam pattern since that’s priority #1 for me, but my dreams were quickly dashed when I heard it’s still not DOT compliant 😢. I try to always operate above board and it’s a major bummer these aren’t legal for on-road use.
    I replaced my factory halogen bulbs with Sylvania Silver Star Ultras which was a big improvement yielding brighter & whiter light, but the light output down the road at distance from the factory halogen projectors in my ‘11 Porsche Cayman pales in comparison to the factory HIDs in my ‘04 Lexus LS430 (not surprising) so I’ve been researching drop-in LEDs for months. The beam pattern and distribution of light is great, it just needs to be brighter!
    Why are LEDs like these not DOT compliant if they reproduce the factory beam pattern, and don’t blind other drivers by scattering light every which way??? 😤😤😤

    • @HeadlightRevolution
      @HeadlightRevolution  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      These bulbs are totally able to produce a OEM quality beam pattern. The only thing that makes them not "DOT Approved" is just that they are not the same bulb that came with the headlight from the factory. They do not mesure it at all, nor do they take the time to test it to see if it will perform safely, they just say it is not legal. Let us know if you have any other questions, we are here to help!

    Based on morimoto specs these are 2600lm at 25 degrees Celsius. Compared to Morimoto HID at 3200lm. Problem with LEDs are once they get to temperature they loose 25-30% brightness. So if my math is right morimoto hid kit is still 80-85% brighter than the their own led in actual use.
    Would like to see them compared though at temperature. If the Morimoto led Hotspot is better than hid then this could negate the difference though.

    • @yoshiishida6577
      @yoshiishida6577 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      This LED bulb is not to replace the HID bulb, it is around 2,100lm at the upper working temperature also described in the spec. Hot spot strength is all dependent on optics, and the general tendency is studied very strongly with low beam reflector optics. 2,100lm distribution of 2stroke 3.0 and HID bulb is completely different. LED has Lambertian emission and center 50% peak emission hit the far outer segment of the reflector, which generally creates a hot spot. Nearly half of the emission power is hitting the hot spot corresponding segment of the reflector, it can display reasonably stronger peak intensity relative to light source lumen volume. It's a bit more complicated than comparing point light source lumen to lumen. In projector optics, 2 stroke3.0 hotspot increase is mild. This is the nature of the projector optics because the projector uses direct above and below ( 12 and 6 o'clock) engle emission to create a hotspot. And 2ST3.0 uses high density LED, it has a less accidental overlap to create beam center intensity compare to larger LED chip LED bulb, which can have accidental beam overlap to increase beam center intensity but do compromise beam quality by shifting the hotspot or adding a significant level of foreground illumination.

    But, the important thing is...the location of the LED chips in relation to the original halogen in the headlight reflector itself.

    • @yoshiishida6577
      @yoshiishida6577 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Reference distance was the first priority to begin with in this bulb development, emitter positioning is consistent to standard specification of halogen bulbs. H4 shade cup in this bulb is Not only just average cutoff generator as specification defined. But it also act as virtual secondary illumination point generator by manipulating the ray group which was traditionally blocked to be waisted. By recycling the waited ray group into direct above range illumination ability. it is more than the cutoff shade cup, it is special optical component to achieve illumination angle range enhancer to cover direct above range from the typical 2 sided LED layout design. This helps much better vertical beam gradient and balanced foreground illumination distribution. What is the concern you may have? Feel free to ask me any question about features.

    I have these in the hi and low in my 2019 Impreza sport and they work well. This is because my High beams are not also the DRL's, the Sport has a separate DRL lamp assembly where most Impreza's have Fog Lights. I also have a set of low beams in my 2013 Outback Limited. I tried them in the Outback's High beams which also double as the DRL's. I could not get them to work in the high beams without flicker. I tried anti flicker modules in line but the bulbs would not turn on so I had to go back to the halogen bulbs in the high beams. I was hoping they would operate at a lower power as the DRL's but it would not do that for some reason as like they said they would.

    Most snowmobiles and many ATVs use the H4 bulb. The 3.0 does not use the new chip but has that new reflector cup. Everyone seems to be testing using single filaments, H11, 9005s but what about us? Rarely do you see an H4 review other then by some private individual. We are strictly off-road and ride at night and the dim yellow halogens can hide the next corner or tree you need to go around. Heck maybe even test in a sled as that is never ever done. Could use a skidoo as they have yet to go to led headlights.
    For the record, even though they are less raw lumens I just ordered up a set of these new 2stroke 3.0s versus a $50 10000 lumen chinese or the GTR csp minis for my newer skidoo. I am hoping for a big improvement over stock in both hi and low beam and not blinding everyone on the trail. Plus now the polaris guys will quit razing me about yellow headlights.

    To perfectly mimic a halogen bulb, the actual led chip setup should be as thin as the actual filament.
    If you are to take a ultrasonic cutter and cut one of these bulbs in half to see the profile and take a filament and see from the side, would they be similar in tightness!?
    Using this led chip is just an advantage for size/power/reliability but doesn't guarantee anything else because the led chips must be designed with the reflector unit where they shine the light.
    And for the halogen replacement bulbs, if they are not exactly as thin as the filament, well, they aren't doing it right 100%

    • @yoshiishida6577
      @yoshiishida6577 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      There is no LED bulb currently that mimic filament, but as far as intervals between 2 emission surface, this build is the thinnest in the market.
      The filament tolerance box is 1.8mm in diameter, 2 stroke 3.0 emission surface interval is about 1.9~2.0mm ( which includes dielectric layer thickness and solder thickness in consideration) Axial reference distance is adjusted to the critical center tolerance zone of the halogen filament specification. It is not a chip that must be designed with a reflector. The reflector is designed around the filament, and to make LED placement as close as the filament is the direct first effort should be made. No matter how accurate you place the LED chip at halogen filament, it still won't display the same behavior as filament. LED has Lambertian distribution, it can not be compared just by positioning. The optical detail is much deeper than that. However, what I can say is no other LED bulb that paid close attention to filament tolerance box size and emission character. HKL emission area is smaller than filament overall YZ cross-section, which is important. Because filament edge does no emit as strong emission as critical tolerance box. 2 stroke 3.0 mimic YZ plane of filament critical tolerance box most accurately. Filament YZ plain cross-section size is 1.4mm x 4.5mm HKL emitter is 1.03mm x 4.33mm

    Ok, your videos keep popping up on my feed so I’ll ask the question. After seeing a few of your videos, it’s clear you do your homework but also clear is that you focus on car applications. What about motorcycles? Have spent hundreds on different sets of led bulbs but never found any that I was completely happy with. What I’d like is a defined beam pattern, good amount of light output and the ability to project that light down the road. I’ve had bright bulbs but they didn’t cast it very far. Also had lights that cast it a good distance but the beam pattern was useless. Never found a set that tick all the boxes.
    Now the more complicated part. Firstly, I’m using a reflector housing, so unless the bulbs mimic the beam pattern of the H7 halogens perfectly, they’re not going to be any use. Then there’s the issue with waterproofing. There’s an adapter that plugs onto the back of the H7 bulbs which makes the pins wider. Then there’s a rubber boot that has a watertight seal around that adapter. The wiring loom has a rubber surround and when pushed onto the back of the pins, creates a waterproof seal. With led bulbs, because they have a wire with the connector on the end, this means that the wiring loom doesn’t push into the back of the bulb to make the connection watertight. Hope all of that makes sense and if it does, any bulb suggestions?

    Just curious now how these compare to the GTR Lighting Ultra 2.0 that I was about to pull the trigger on and order? Other than warranty cause I don't think you can beat the GTR warranty. I really like the way they cool which is what I worry about with the fans as they see a lot of dust. Hopefully you will have a vid soon comparing these to the GTR lights.

    I have a 2016 civic and 2017 impreza both with h11 halogens. Would these be the best bulb for both cars?

    Are these as an h4 single bulb on a motorcycle a good upgrade?

    • @HeadlightRevolution

      They are a fantastic upgrade for motorcycles! I ride myself, and have been using the 2Stroke bulbs in both my Yamaha MT07 & my Ducati Monster! Great width on the beam pattern and plenty of hotspot for riding, I highly recommend them!

    Hey guys I have a question
    I bought these but the lights seem to be “whiter” but not “brighter”. What could that be?
    They are installed in a 2014 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid Limited

    will these work in my 2019 f250 as headlights, it uses halogen headlights stock. I ask because I can't find a kit recommended for my f250 on your website that uses these morimoto 3.0 leds.
    Also, if the pwm module dies but the led unit still works is there any option other than buying a whole new kit since the pwm module on these appears to be hardwired to the led.?

    Curious what these would look like on a 4runner with projectors instead of reflectors.

    I haven’t any knowledge of led headlights. I have a bulb with two wires coming out. From what I looked up it’s 2 waterproof connectors. It says OPT7 on the side. Could you recommend anything?

    Shame they do not do a H1. Q. In your opinion, what is the Best overall LED H1 headlight bulb replacement ?. I tried some NightEye H1's and they were terrible, so im back with Osram Nightbreaker Laser halogens at the moment.

    I just bought an electric moped and the LED headlight is not very strong. I noticed it is one-sided and casting light up only. Can you recommend a LED light which is 2-sided which will help brighten up my headlight? Thanks. Any advice would be appreciated.

    Great video. Thanks. Could you provide recommendations for 9006 low beam led type for 2013 Honda Civic? My daughter’s car’s low beams are dangerously dim.
    Thanks for your help!

    Great video!
    Will the 3 work in a nissan maxima 2018 sv as a headlight as a low beam?
    It currently has a halogen in a projector housing! If it doesn't fit what do you suggest? Hid or Led!?

    Can You Make A Comparison Of The GTR Lighting 2.0 Vs Morimoto 2Stroke 3.0??? What Would Your Preference Be And Why??? Asking For A Potential Future Car.

    • @HeadlightRevolution
      @HeadlightRevolution  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      GTR are brighter, while the Morimoto bulbs have a better overall beam pattern. The GTR bulbs have a lifetime warranty, Morimoto has a 3 year.
      There are trade-offs to each. I would personally go with the GTR bulbs!
