Nice presentation! I've got a first run stainless 184 and later black 184. When you hold one, you feel like you could take on the world!!

Bought one today! With boxm and ALL the paperwork. Even the tissue paper! This will be my third. The first was at the navy exchange, Long Beach, 1980's $110. Today's was $450!

I have had my Buckmaster since Christmas 1984 when I was a senior in high school. I brought it on outings in the Everglades as well as shrimping in Miami. It's an awesome knife.

Cool video! I was fortunate enough to acquire a 1st generation BM prototype; a 2nd generation BM prototype w/experimental wire-cutter scabbard and a very early 1st generation production three-line BM with the early button snap style pouches. The snaps were soon done away with quickly (rare to see) and were reminiscent of the M9 bayonet pouch. I’ve also had the opportunity to acquire an XM9 bayonet … prototype to the M9 bayonet. The blades of the XM9 prototype bayonets were made with Buckmaster blade blanks.
Also, if I remember correctly, the scabbard for the original Phrobis XM9 prototype bayonets was also made from the Buckmaster BUCK 184 scabbard mold … I understand they literally taped over the “BUCK” of the original BM mold and the cutter plate recess for the M9 cutter plate was milled out manually. Production M9 bayonets had their own individual mold.

That’s awesome! I’ll have to see if I can find a xm9 now that I know about the BM blanks. Thanks for the intel!

I have a pre-paten model with both sizes of pouches attached to the sheath. The 184 holds an edge and can be made shaving sharp. Original owner.
