Maybe it's all fake but it blows my mind to see Mitch training in a regular gym considering his accolades. There's a bunch of videos of Eddie in commercial gyms I know everyone starts off that way, but I can't think of other top strongmen still grinding it out next to your average gym bro and cardio bunny.
At the end of the day as long as the gym has the necessary equipment which can hold a lot of weight, then it doesn't really matter. Pick big weight up and put big weight down. It's not that complicated, it's all that's necessary for getting strong.
Lots of strongmen train like powerlifters the majority of the year, only training with implements in preparation for a show. This is less common recently with home equipment and strongman gyms. The OG strongman comps had guys walking in who had likely never used some of the implements before.
It’s not really a commercial gym. It’s geared towards bodybuilding and powerlifting. I don’t know if any commercial gyms with atlas stones and 200lb dumbbells.
Perks of having a good relationship with my local gym is I'm able to bring my personal equipment in! But going into my first World's Strongest Man comp I only had access to standard equipment
@@mitchellhooperstrongman you're a G! Love your content, you keep on getting funnier, more informative, and better at strongman. You're an inspiration.
@@luisore7281 maybe if I started lifting weights when I was a teenager I could do an amateur division or something like that but I just started 2 years ago. Too much time to make up for.

Lunaticshyamihere tbf you can start by gaining like 60lbs
if you're 5'11 you can get to like 200 lbs, that bodyweight can easily be raised, its not a static factor like your height
