“Train to feel the pain. No more feeling numb” - Luke Stoltman. That is very quotable & frankly relatable. Please put it on a hoodie & t-shirt guys. Great stuff! Great effort by both of you. Very motivating.
HELLO Guys!!! Hello Luke and Tom , Riccardo here from italy big fan :) , what can i say .... History has introduced us to many stories of brothers..even the blues brothers .. but you guys are an inspiration in this present.. Big Love Stoltman brothers!
If the problem is static strength on deadlifts and squats then grab the thorny nettle and grind - thors incredible on the statics as is mich - wsm gives tom a little advantage as its not the heavyist comp but if tom wants to place at the arnolds rogue and shaw classic he needs the baseline strength to improve quite alot - good luck great to see them not just doing what theyve always done and seeking ways to get better - everyone wishs the stoltmans success and im no different two great fellas
Oh to have the confidence of a TH-cam commenter trying to tell the Stoltman brothers how to lift weights 😂 Useful video, stay spicy lads 💪🏴🌶️🌶️🌶️
Squats looked decent, just gotta work on the brace position. Pelvis wasn’t tucked very well and the upper back wasn’t as depressed as it could be. It will come fast though.
I love how Luke picked a 10 kg dumbbell for wrist curls and said it will do 😂 bro your pinky could curl more than that all day long Even I use more than that for wrist curls
Stoltman brothers are so strong without a proper diet. Just imagine how great they would have been with a proper diet and routine. They would be known as the greatest brothers alive.
@@JakeJensenGuitar did you even watch Tom stoltmans last post. He said it himself that he didn't take his deit seriously. If you don't know then shut up and watch his latest videos
Setting your pelvis into an anterior pelvic tilt at the start probably doesn't do you any favours. The butt wink at the bottom probably stems from that. A more neutral start, bracing ribs down could help. Ending my random guy tips here 😅
It depends on the intention; for muscle growth you focus on the eccentric, for strength and reducing muscle damage it's about applying force, I believe
Noooooo, video guy, please don't do what Hafþor's video guy does and cut little snippets out in between Tom's talking, to stitch it closer together. It's not an audio file. It's frustrating as Hell to watch.
It’s always puzzled me that a lot of strongmen seem to neglect squatting. I understand that deadlifting takes precedence as it’s a common event but surely it’d be more fruitful long-term to train both squat and deadlift more or less equally?
@@Joe-wt6eh Squats are one of the most functional exercises going and strongmen who excelled in static events (Eddie Hall, prime Thor, Big Z, JF Caron to name a few) were all monster squatters and all clearly invested a lot of training into it, regardless of how frequently the actual event comes up. In more recent times Mitchell Hooper also seems to train squats regularly and his progress has been astounding. If he sees value in regularly squatting there must be a benefit.
@mrgaudy1954 of course there's value in it.. but to invest an equal amount as deadlift is absolutely absurd. I hope you don't ever program athletes lol
@@mrgaudy1954 yeah just joking. Back squats are a good accessory for the deadlift but you'll typically see variations used in strongman training blocks such as front squats, SSBs, split squats etc because they cant be loaded as heavy but still offer specifically beneficial properties. If you trained back squats as a strength driver you would be taking up too much of your recovery resources for a non sport specific movement
Don't get me wrong, you didn't get where you are without knowing a thing or two ... but your squat and deadline form need some serious coaching, you ARE going to get a lower back problem unless you sort out a coach !!!

Scotland as a nation doesn’t give Luke and Tom enough credit or recognition imo
National hero’s 🏴💪🏻🇬🇧

If you're Scottish and a fan of strongman, then you love the Stoltmans. Weird comment..

Nice to see Luke deadlifting heavy again. Tom learning to love squats again is cool
Excellent chaps 👊🏻👊🏻🏴🏴

That sandbag squat has inspired me to create a new warm up routine that incorporates it. I'll go a touch lighter of course.

@@nigelvonshredmanlol losers trying to give the world's strongest man advice. Social media is definitely weird and wack.
Don't give unsolicited advice. He's a pro only taking advice from Dan hipkiss.
@@donniebrasco1364 Dan hipkiss is a numpty. The bro commenting is actually correct. That squat is atrocious
I've heard this butt wink thing a lot pre COVID. Not once in a long time til now. People get lol kinda of ideas.
Is the bar too high on Tommy’s traps? Bar weight is too far front.
Big Tom got something going on in left hip. Way his foot was placing on reverse lunges looked uncomfortable. Great session tho.
There should be more squatting in strongman
Tom please give me a heart
I thought I read that much of the benefit of training deadlift and overhead is controlling the down stroke rather than dropping the bar??
It depends on the intention; for muscle growth you focus on the eccentric, for strength and reducing muscle damage it's about applying force, I believe
Flat shoes/oly shoes. I think flat shoes the weight is more on your hips whereas oly shoes it's more knees? Don't quote me on that.
Raised heal increases ankle dorsiflexion and increases quad load.
