That's exactly like my lap! Except, you know, 15 seconds faster, and with sensible commentary instead of me just saying "crap crap crap I'm going to die".
Average Nordschleife experience for most people to be honest 😂 It is a real challenge in ACC to get every corner nailed on such a long lap, but the track does drive really well, and I am sure with more seat time and practice, you'll get there and replace the "i'm going to die" with "I so nailed that" 💪
@@CoachDaveAcademy It really is amazing that track, especially when you get a longer section of corners just right and feel like an absolute chad! First time holding the car flat through the Pflanzgarten section felt insane in the sim. Mad that people do this in real life!
Incredible lap! But while providing commentary… professional and gifted by the gods… god bless you good sir! And thank you coach Dave for providing this excellent content. Your sim drivers are stellar and true class acts. Cheers!
Can't believe you comment this hotlap live lol. It's one thing to be quick, but to divide brain power to also explain while you're driving this track is wild
So you are able to produce laptime like me (well it was a bit slower, I did 8:08.7, but with McLaren and +14kgs from BOP and I cut the GP layout to start the lap), while talking about how to do a lap. Thats impressive. I about the video - you provided me a lot of information, I might be able to take my laptimes below 10s consistently thanks to this.
I've been doing Nordschleife hotlaps for some time now (in the original AC and also in AMS2) with VR. After a few laps of concentration and immersion in VR I'm spent... I cannot fathom how real drivers do this for multiple hours in a real car without crashing. It's supernatural.
Had the same feeling when doing a single lap IRL there. Ofc you have to concentrate on the track, but the G forces from both turns and elevation changes really take a toll, and i'm doing a single ~9mn lap of BTG at a time. I can't imagine how they are doing sub 9mn of the 24h track for 90+ minutes. Insane physical and mental condition.
Yeah the real drivers doing these kinds of lap times, whilst dodging traffic, experiencing every weather type known to man and racing door to door for 24 hours are real heroes 💪
@@eincutr I once did a paid Ring Taxi with a Porsche GT3 RS and a pro driver. Cost me 300 euro back in those days (i think it was around 2015 or something). I was very quiet for a while after getting out of the car. Impressive stuff.
12 minutes 15 for lap 2. Something to aim at! 😁 Thanks for a such a detailed guide, it should give me confidence to go flat out in areas I was lifting. 👍
Loads of room for improvement in there then! You've got this, it might take a load of laps to begin with to start to string the weaker sectors together, but you'll definitely start taking seconds off when it starts to click together 💪 Glad the lap guide has helped you out, best of luck with your practice 😎
I've watched hundreds of real life laps being driven around there. What I don't understand is why I feel like I'm bouncing all over the planet in ACC yet the irl laps look like they are smooth as hell
Gregor, I preferred the first version, where you showed that even the best drivers can make mistakes. The rawness of it was also very refreshing to see as it felt that we were kind of learning it with you. Nice video though generally.
Nice first lap. I drive the same line but in total your are 28sec faster. From start to the brigde begin of the foxhole 7 sec faster. Second orange barrier after bergwerk right before kesselchen 14sec faster. Braking point karrosel 16sec. Audi sign dottinger hohe 26 sec start finish 28sec. You have so much more corner speed in every corner. Need to improve allot😅.
The higher minimum ride heights definitely makes some of the cars feel vague. With less downforce to play with from the floor, they will feel more floaty. Getting into the low 8's is all about seat time and practice. Gregor has done so many laps of Nords in AC1 as well racing at the top level, stick at it and the more laps you do, the more comfortable you'll feel! Before you know it you'd have knocked seconds off that 8:22 💪
I would like to switch from AC to ACC, but there is no FFB for ABS and TC in ACC which makes it unplayable when these features are turned off - is there any fix for that?
The fact that you weren't smooth in some corners like after fuchsrohre or hohe acht and doing that 08:09 is making me crazy. I can't lower a 8:16 (with a bmw in lfmp servers)...
I have been anything between number 1 and like number 22 in laptime around the nordschleife in GT cars. I really love this video, but when you said in some cars flugplatz is flat. What cars are you talking? Not GT cars I assume? Because even in my fastest cars (R8/F1 GT/F50GT) I don't even come close to doing it flatout. You are talking single seaters right?
@@CoachDaveAcademy That was never the case before on any sims I've tried. Do we know of GT cars IRL that go flat out there? It seems impossible for me to. I just checked, my actual best lap around there is a 8.05.855 and as I said, I don't come close to flatout there, a full release of the throttle and even a slight touch of the break to stabilize upon entry. Will try ACC when I am home and see if I can do it, and what it will mean for my laptime.
Is this comparison with ACC directly though or other sims? Comparing across sims is really not ideal as the physics of each sim is completely different and therefore lap time and car behaviour is also unique. But in ACC it is possible. A lot of the GT3's running the N24 and VLN series in real life incidentally can also take that flat, an example is Kevin Estre here from last year at Flugplatz at 2:26 he's flat to the floor: th-cam.com/video/_lxt7BpFtiQ/w-d-xo.html
Krass was kleine Veränderungen ausmachen. Später vor dem Karussell bremsen. Dadurch schneller rein und man hält mehr Speed im Karussell. Direkt 2,5 Sekunden schneller.
@@snippidippi i think low wing is better because lesser downforce means more speed i guess, but that is the question :) spa is also a low downforce track
you know you can just press 1 then f1 instead of spamming f1 multiple times to go back to dash view haha. press f1 then 1 to go back to default cockpit view
Fun to see how your car can brake 25-50m later and make a turn comfortably, while any setup I use will end up in the wall. ACC is the worst Sim out there.

Boggles the mind the real guys going at it for the 24 whilst dodging traffic multiple seconds per lap off 🤯
me testing the braking zone coming out of foxhole, first time I tried to brake at the white board and immediately floor it I almost lost my hands 💀

A by product of the ACC physics engine I am afraid, cars are extremely bouncy in ACC.
I’ve been trying to tackle this for the past two weeks. This will be a big help when I get home tonight. Let’s see what I can do!

Ive noticed it you set your head movement to 10% move with wheel you dont get that weird FOV glitch
Thanks!
why are you changing your camera view at 4:56? and is that why im still doing 24s?😅
proper alien
The game sometimes will reset your view settings at that spot)
it’s a bug as far as I know
Yeah sometimes the camera resets the view position in ACC so a quick switcheroo through the camera helps reset it 💪
Brilliant thanks
You're welcome! Hope it has helped you out with learning the track Craig 💪
@CoachDaveAcademy it definitely has, free guidance is always welcome imo, no matter if I already know 🤝
Great to hear 🔥
setting up the car is def a pain here... consistently doing "fast" 8:22s and idk how he casually does a 8:09 but hopefully this will help

Unplayable? Cmon now. Go play it and you'll see how much more difficult and realistic it is. It makes GT3 in AC look like child's play.
FFB in terms of feeling ABS or TC kicking in? Unless you'd have a vibrating brake pedal simulating ABS kicking in then no, not in ACC.
@@CoachDaveAcademy Yeah, in AC i feel it in the steering wheel (Thrustmaster T150 RS), but in ACC there is nothing.
@@MyRealName This has nothing to do with difficulty, its just unplayable when you have ZERO information when the wheels are locking or spinning.

Just about more seat time. With the Nordschliefe being so long, optimising just 1 or 2 areas of the track can yield seconds in lap time!

The Porsche 992, M4 and a couple of others are flat with the right setup on a qualifying lap right now in ACC 🙏
