- I am starting a vlog about Walmart’s Associate to Driver Program. I have not seen anyone make videos about the program so I am going to talk about my experience along the way. February 4 2024 is the first day of the vlog as I go through orientation until Friday at the Pottsville Transportation Office.

They are about to start over-lapping classes so the applicants should be showing up a lot more and maybe they will accept more people. Because you work at Pottsville already you’d get the “week zero” heads start from everyone else at Dover, Delaware.

@@jritefrom56 If the applications come out one month before your year you will have a chance to be accepted into the program as well because it’ll take a month or so before the program actually starts

What kind of assessment you take at the time of application and do you loose seniority with Walmart if you don’t pass after the program ends?

Hi! I am looking into the Associate to Driver Program. I’m currently doing some research when I found your channel. A few questions if that’s ok.
1) does the program apply to full and part-time associates? Does it apply to only full-time associates?
2) I have my CDL, how soon could I apply to the program? From what I gathered, an associate has to be working for Walmart for a year before they can apply to the program.

You can apply to the program 2 months before your year and anytime after your year.
Both full and part time associates can apply to the program, however, once you get into the program you will be paid as a full time associate. You'll be in training 8 hours a day Monday - Thursday with a half day on Friday.
If you have an inactive CDL and are a current Walmart associate and have been at your store/dc for a year you can apply.
If you work for a trucking company currently you are not eligible for the program and have to apply at drive4walmart for a regular truck driver position.
@@Bianka_Taylor thank you for taking time to answer my questions. One last question, according to an article I found, Walmart is changing the mileage range an associate needs to live within in order to be eligible for the program. That range is 50 miles increasing to 250 miles. Have you heard of this is correct? I’m not sure if the article will copy and paste into the comments.
I applied and did the assessment, but I’m going to make a year in October. The program starts in November do you think they are going to accept me in the program?
Yes, you can apply and be accepted into the program 3 months before your year so you should be ok! Good luck!

I can’t post that link because it is only for Walmart associates. You have to go to one.walmart.com sign in with your username and password and go to career search and click driver positions.

How many DC’s did you apply to? Are you within the 250 miles limit? When I applied to too many DC’s they didn’t accept me.
@@Bianka_TaylorI applied to the Dc I work at in Lagrange, but what I did was applied again because I applied 2 days before my one year anniversary. Let’s see how it goes.

It could take up to a month and a half to hear anything back.

Hi, do you have any information regarding the assessment that is required as soon as you submit your application
Hey! The assessment should come right up on the bell icon once you apply. It could take a few days to get it but it should be there right away. It’s like the one you take when you applied for Walmart.
As long as it’s 6 months after your first transfer and you’ve been with Walmart for a year total, you’re eligible for the program. That’s not true?
You have to be in your current position for a year as well as be working for the company for a year. When you get accepted into the program it is considered as a transfer. The rules change a lot so it depends on what the requirements are on the application.
Can you tell me the locations of the centers? I’m in Virginia and I want to know if I’m close enough to apply. I work at the distribution center but the application is closed rn so it won’t show the locations. I don’t want to wait if I’m too far anyway.

Is 30 months of driving experience required?
If you are already a truck driver you need 30 months/3 years experience to apply to work for Walmart. If you want to join the program and don’t work for a trucking company you have to work for Walmart for 1 years to apply.
Hey, how long after job offer before you have to go in for physical and drug test?
You have to get it done before the program starts.
Will they provide transportation to the training site or would I have to take my car?
You can sign up even if you have a CDL already?
Yes, as long as you have worked for Walmart for a year in the store or dc.
Did you ever get the $10000 bonus?
You don’t get the bonus if you came from the A2D program I believe. I think that is for previous truck drivers.
What kind of questions did they ask you during the interview?
They asked like 4 questionsss it’s basic too they asked what would you do to fix a mistake? What would you do with distractions and things like that
They ask you questions like what do you do to not get distracted while driving name something that you wish you could’ve done better like that nothing hard as the other person commented they asked for questions two questions per person. Sometimes you might have three people during your interview.
Do they pay for rooming and if so, do you have room with someone?
Your rooms are paid by Walmart and you don’t share rooms with anyone. You will never share a room with anyone and when you sleep one night in the truck you’ll be by yourself.
Thanks!!! One more question so will they allow your spouse to be in the room with you. I go to training in Aug.
They should just let them know ahead of time.
When do they do the dot drug test?
You do one for your DOT physical and one at the start of the program I believe the first or second day

What if you already have a CDL?
If you have a CDL but it’s not active and you are working at a Walmart DC/Store you can apply to the program. If you already have a trucking job you’d have to go through onboarding and apply on drive4walmart

I don’t have anymore advice on the interview unfortunately because I don’t want to get into things you should say. Everything has to be genuine so it’s important to think about why you want to be apart of the program.

@@KH-ji7bn A month and a half to hear back for the interview and about a week after my interview to know that I was accepted into the program.
