    I suspect the gold bracelet uses the same size screws as the regular stainless steel one, but the PVD coating makes the tolerances much tighter. It would be interesting to know how much wear-and-tear the watch can take before the 'gold' starts to wear off.

    Another great video my friend! I`m happy that you`re still around. I`ve made a few Namoki builds lately, and I love their parts. I made the SPB297, 299, & 301 Glacier dial trio, and they turned out amazing! So far, DLW and Namoki seem to have the best parts at the best prices. Thank you for not editing out the parts where you had difficulties. We have all been there, and it makes it more real to see someone else struggle the way we all do sometimes. looking forward to you next video already! Cheers from Canada!

    You are now responsible for me choosing one of these ! I have done a bit of watch repairing before, swapping movements on a broken Citizen ladies watch and a real Omega Seamaster Quartz, so hope I can get this together when it arrives. Nice content and I went for the base kit plus the display case back and bracelet as your video showed these parts off and I think the end result is great. I am new to Seiko mods but looks like a good way to build some good and unique watches.

    Great video! I’m glad you gave an honest account of your problems with Namoki’s products. I have had problems with almost every item I have purchased from them, and while they have tried to fix things, I will no longer purchase products from them. It’s just not worth the hassle and disappointment.

    Upon watching your video I think perhaps the gold coating that is being applied is messing with the threads of the screws.
    No guarantee but it would make sense to me.

    Nice one Dan your vids are compulsive viewing . I recently did a build using the namoki mm300 case and the Spb207 dial . I found the lug fit on their bracelet to be quite good , I’m a bit undecided on the the taper to 16mm though 🤔. Keep up the good work I keep going back to your old vids for inspiration.

    These videos a great and (for me at least) the reason is because you don't manage this without a mistake here and there. You have to adjust your plans on the fly sometimes and that's what everyone learning how to do this has to do. Hopefully less often as we learn more of course but still it's nice to see that perfection isn't an absolute requirement right out of the gate. I love watching the channels where guys with amazing skills seem to get everything right the first go around as much as the next person but it will be long time before I'm one of those guys (if ever). My builds still seem to go together more like yours appear to and that makes me feel like this isn't a hopeless effort. Thank you!

    16:08 Might not have firmly seated the dial. Seiko movements usually give good hand clearance, so the hour hand should not have hit the indice.

  • @joshuabulman5748
    @joshuabulman5748 27 วันที่ผ่านมา

    The dial came loose because the crown tube sticks into that case. You have to install and remove the assembly on a slight angle to get the dial under the tube.
    Instead of bending the hands, use spacers slightly higher than the indices when pressing the hour hand. Same with minute hand. Put your dial protector over hour and press minute hand so it just kisses the protector. If you bend the hands too much at some point you pop the lume out.

    Great vids mate, good to see you back!
    Is the ELP 4k camera your main camera for most shots?

    • @ItsAnotherWatch
      @ItsAnotherWatch  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I use the ELP 4K camera for some of the top down shots and the build process. Its pretty good at getting sharp picture when zoomed in a lot, but its not that great at the wide shots. The NX500 that I use for the Wide shot and all the ending BRoll is so much better in sharpness and colour accuracy to name a couple.
      I've actually been questioning the quality of the ELP 4K for a while now, since it especially suffers in low light. As much as it wants to be a "4K camera" its just a webcam with a small sensor and is limited by that. I'd like to upgrade it in the future, since its really good HALF the time and really BAD the other half of the time and I don't like the inconsistency. Sometimes I think about going back to using the NX500 for everything because of how much better it is and I probably would if it didn't run the risk of overheating and shutting off when recording for more than an hour.

      @@ItsAnotherWatch Amazing info, thank you. I’m just starting into watch making/modding and want to film and document my progress. I’m going to film mainly from iPhone 14pro but was thinking of adding a second angle.

    Great video! Tip 1: Maybe use a pin vise instead of pliers when adjusting the stem? Tip 2: Get an adhesive swab from Bergeon to remove dust an small particles from the dial and hands. It does not leave smudges or prints.

  • @commentjedi
    @commentjedi ปีที่แล้ว

    21:33 Just plop it on there with tweezers, then press down with a big, flat, smooth object like the movement case. It becomes intuitive with practice.

  • @GarryJakes-gl9sw
    @GarryJakes-gl9sw ปีที่แล้ว

    Black Bay is my next project, once all the parts have arrived. I've gone for gold accent dial and hands but had to order the dial with a date window ( dial cost and availability issues made me make a decision). Fortunately I found a movement with a black date ring with gold numbers so I'm hoping it will blend in.
    Thanks for you video posts as they encouraged me to start watch moding a few months ago and I now have a growing collection of unique watches all with my on twist.

    not sure if anyone else has said this, but if are building a watch with no date function, I would heavily recommend the nh38 movement. As it you won't have the "ghost" date function on the crown. (It is also cheaper than the nh71).

  • @sotgee
    @sotgee ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Hi great builds you got there ! Quick question? How does that nh71 movement in the vid at (1:07.18) HAVE SUCH A SMOOTH SWEEP OMG!!?!🤯🤯❤ is it an edit or what the hogwarts is going on please - you made it look like a springdrive! Thx great video!

    • @ItsAnotherWatch
      @ItsAnotherWatch  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks very much! Haha thats just sped up footage. I wanted the camera sweep of that shot to go faster for the montage so I increased the speed of it.

  • @MaartenAnna
    @MaartenAnna ปีที่แล้ว

    Indeed, good to see you back!
    I've done that "trick" bending the hands, and sent my hands flying through the room a number of times 😂😂😂
    I scream all the time as well when I mess up.
    BTW, I really like the NH71 from the front as well, why don't you try it without the dial?
    Also, a gold bezel on the silver case would look awesome as well.

  • @D0ct0RCh4NDR4

    Hi Dan and thanks for another great video.
    I often recommend your content to people interested in modding because you show an authentic experience with all the frustrations and little victories that are part of building a watch. I had the same issues cutting the stem when I built my Namoki BB58. Have I fixed it? Nah! I’ll do it some day.
    I think you set the hands a little too far down on their pinions and that’s why they conflicted with each other so much.

    You can soak the bracelet in oil to rid it of squeaks. People in the watch community often do this, especially with fakes. They call it the oil bath.

    On the second ready made watch, there appears to be a problem with the bezel at 10-11 o clock on the marker. Might be fluff, might not. Other than that, nice build..? If not fraught with problems.

    Namoki mods is WAY too expensive for what they sell. As an example they have a prebuilt NMK08 watch on their page for £255, that contains parts for £80. They also use silly parts for their prebuilts. This one for instance uses a NH36A movement, which is a day-date movement, but the dial doesn't have windows for either of them, for a build like this, the NH38 movement would be the one to choose. They sell this for £295 but it only contains parts for $85.

    Next time try use a small hand held butane torch to heat up the screw, 2 second blast and will beg to come out. This also works very well to remove Cyclopses aka date magnifiers
