- The Muslim man who originally wanted to kill Larry looks into his past to see if he's not as bad as presumed.
Curb Your Enthusiasm, Season 9 Episode 8. - ภาพยนตร์และแอนิเมชัน
This is honestly my favorite piece of television of all time. Years and years of Larry being vilified only to be vindicated by the Fatwa investigator is genius writing.
Fatwa?
@@josephscarborough8888 What? What do you know about _fatwa_ or Islam or Muslims for that matter? You think it is all about Ayatullah issuing a fatwa three decades ago?
My brother, inform rather than berate.
@@waryaawariiri1812 for fucks sake, No. I gave the barebones, technical meaning of what a fatwa is. If you mean I'm technically incorrect, then by all means, explain what it is.
You should have simply googled before speaking out of your behind of what you have no knowledge of. Here is the very first sentence of the google result:
*Fatwa, in Islam, a formal ruling or interpretation on a point of Islamic law given by a qualified legal scholar (known as a mufti). Fatwas are usually issued in response to questions from individuals or Islamic courts.*
This actor totally nailed this scene. What a gorgeous voice.
He could make a career out of that persona like Philip Baker Hall does as a hard boiled detective.
Love this guy. Clicked half for the title half for him
I feel like it was his destiny to be an Iranian James Bond.
@@ValensBellator I remember thinking this guy looks like an Iranian Timothy Dalton when I watched this episode.
Watch legion and u will truly see how great he is
“So he refused to follow the laws of Jewish orthodox?”
“Yes”
Big smile “I see”
@Al Saqib Majumder kamon achhen?

@@ABARTSPRODUCTIONS Lol you're deaf? He says "commendable". I'm Persian as well and I can perfectly understand what he says with his accent
Commendable= deserving praise, legit he says it bro haha
This actors demeanor , voice and looks gives this episode so much more . One of my favs
jays0909 the accent is so damn cool
He's of Iranian descent. His name is Navid Negahban and he played the shadow king's role...
He feels like someone straight out of Seinfeld, and I don't mean that as an insult.
Yeah, Iranian accent is awesome. Great for acting. he could easily play the role of a secret agent or a street vendor selling roasted peanuts in New York City.
He's great in Legion
I love how the investigator sees everything Larry’s way
nickys34 pretty sure it’s about being misunderstood and how peoples perspectives and emotional involvement in a situation cloud their judgement and an impartial party would usually see things the way they are.. Larry doesn’t give into societies preconceived notions of what is proper etiquette in social situations but he is usually in the right because societies norms usually contain at least some bullsht and people just do not question it. It comes down to comfort most people aren’t going against society and what’s considered normal because it’s uncomfortable to do so.but this guy doesn’t have the preconceived corrupt American value system to alter his judgement on sed social situations. So when he sees Larry was usually a victim of misunderstandings and societies need to fit everyone into a box that he won’t fit into. It makes people uncomfortable to question things most people accept as normal. The one who questions these norms will usually catch the brunt of societies backlash.
*Claps slowly*
@@infinitelybetterthannothin1077 I agree mostly, sometimes Larry is in the wrong and watching it backfire is hilarious.
nickys34 No. jesus is the antichrist. Dummy.
@@anydaynow im sure you are trolling hoping the guy gets offended but you probably don't even know that Muslims Jesus was a good man of God, just not the son of God.
Finally on the other side of the spectrum, Larry's wrongdoings look noble as they should.

VINDICATION!!!
@liam Anderson because hes helping larry get rid of his fatwa
@liam Anderson I mean it is important to the show, you can hear the maqamat in the background.
I agree with everything Larry did except for stopping Sammy from singing. That was truly mean
That guy is just so dang suave lol
He could be a Persian James Bond.
@a a Well, Sean Connery is bald. And he wore a wig in every Bond movie.
James Bond never took notes.
Green Mills yeah. Sean connery actually started balding very early, especially for the time period in which he was born. He started balding before or around the age of 20.
@@WarlordMoA didn't he take notes in skyfall?
@@tzeege Not in the early ones.
As an Iranian, it's so nice to see one of us portrayed so well. And on curb of all places 😂.
His glee when he finds out Larry refused to follow the tenets of Jewish orthodoxy... Brilliant.
☺️
Took me until just now to get that idk why. I thought he was smiling because he finally got one piece of evidence against Larry rather than admiring him for doing it lmao
Yes really highlights the raging antisemitism of Muslims
@@highviewbarbell you re not alone 😅
Love how Michael Fox has such a pained expression on his face when he finally admits to shaking the can on purpose, as though he has been hiding this dark secret for many years and can find release when he can admit the truth to someone. Great acting by MF.
And then immediately tried to get the investigator with the same trick lol

xen0g3n well, he could have been born before the kamikaze run
He tried to commit suicide.

This is like the end of seinfeld when all the people they made fun of condemned them in court. Except larry wins here
copy paste concept
My thoughts precisely!
They did "The Opposite" lol
….Except, this was actually funny.
Bingo
The soulful exhale at 2:42 after Fox admits to shaking the soda, years after the release of the episode in question. It's like we as the audience are finally taking a breath of relief after holding in frustration on Larry's behalf for so long. The perfect touch after a string of satisfying confessions regarding times Larry was previously wronged.
If I were Michael J Fox in this scene, I would have had a very hard time making it through without bursting into laughs!

Yeah like he literally just admitted his guilt but he has the urge to do it again immediately after
It's honestly damn impressive to make a character this distinct and memorable in under 3 minutes.
Up there with the library cop from Seinfeld
He has other scenes
@@basehead617 Most people don't watch the show just the clips off yt same with Sopranos.
Most of these characters are all memorable and appeared in only 1 ep. That's the genius of both Seinfeld and Curb, where you got roles like The Soup Nazi or Greg The Famboyant Kid that you'd see a few minutes but you'll never forget
Best scene of the entire season.
Zachary I agree, favorite scene so far. "The Big Vagina, yes it's big"
Somehow I liked this but not the Seinfeld finale
The whole fatwa shit was Brilliant
@@biensur I thought this scene was a brilliant inversion of the Seinfeld finale.

It's what Larry said to him when they met, in response to 'you're my n*gga' but as a reversal. Crazy Eyes was confused at the time but I'm glad to see he remembered!
Been using it for years now lol
The investigator is truth serum personified, he's so calm and authoritative, they all just admit what Larry accused them of. Brilliant acting all around.
This guy is so good for this role. The casting director for Curb should get an award every season.
This is just the best. This sequence rewards loyal followers of the show and actually gave a definitive answer to a previously vague situation with Michael J Fox. So great!
"I'm confused, how can your father be a kamikaze pilot if he's still alive"

It's nice how Michael and Larry came together to laugh through Parkinson's. Comedy certainly is a gift!
I love how Krazee Eyez Killa still respects Larry after all these years, and is the only one not complaining about him.
This is so classic for this show! Michael j fox was doing it on purpose lol
Ben Castonia Head shake? Parkinsons. Shoosh? Parkinsons. Soda? Parkinsons. Clumping? Parkinsons xD
Nate Drake -I always thought Fox was a prick, and tried to fuck up LD

He's very handsome. And that voice

The mark of respect in the eyes of the investigator is genuine.
I love how they all crumble, and partially give reason to Larry 😂
The investigator being so skilled that he deduced that the woman with the wide V stole the baseball and that MJF was indeed clomping is hilarious

Us Curb fans waited 6 years for this season and to say it was worth the wait is an understatement.
Larry David is his own league when it comes to quality
Michael J Fox is easily my favorite cameo. The fact he's cool enough to do a whole episode and plotline around his Parkinsons is god tier.

I don't even get that. A can won't behave the same way as a bottle. If you shake the can it will only overflow a lil bit. You might get your hands wet, that's all. You can tap the can on the side to get rid of that.
@@mclera8566 According to ~some~ sciencists, the tapping thing doesn't work that way edition.cnn.com/2019/12/12/world/beer-can-tapping-frothing-intl-scli-scn/index.html but obviously there is much more research to be done on that topic

Honestly, one of the funniest scenes on this show.
Whomever played the girl on the ski-lift episode was incredible - she was so funny 😂 🤣🤣
I haven’t seen this episode but I time and again come back to this clip. It’s almost perfect.
That smile after the ski lift interview, just kills me.
I love this sequence .. timeless classic!!
I havent seen this episode but this scene is gold. So many great lines in one scene. Great writing!
this scene could literally go for hours and hours, the irony is after all he was given justice by a Muslim invistegator, no wonder why I can relate to almost everything larry does 🤣🤣
This is such a brilliant way to do a recap of great bits and get more mileage out of them.
What I love about this is that it shows you can look at things so differently based on your perspective
Perspective is not everything nor should it ever be. It's important to remember that there is _a lot_ of black and white out there in the world. On most of these occasions, Larry was in the right and the other party was in the wrong.
This is like in Seinfeld with all the characters coming back for th trial, except it's the opposite cause it all reflects well on Larry.
This is such a brilliant idea. They did a great job. The actor was on point. Sad the series is coming to an end. Larry David is the man- he’s had such a huge impact on everything that goes into a good show. Always revisit Curb Your Enthusiasm. So relatable.
I love how there's an episode devoted to showing that Larry was always right
Awesome scene. I love when shows reference previous seasons. And its funny how a lot of the scenes, Larry was wrong, but he looked good to the Muslim.
Zodi77 yeah this guy loved that he didn't follow Jewish law lol
Zodi77 the genius is that sometimes he wasn’t wrong . Like mjf doing shit on purpose . The rapper, the ski lift scene . Larry wasn’t wrong
Ben Castonia The face he makes after he discovers it is priceless
It's funny how Larry wasn't wrong and finally someone else saw it. Where was Larry wrong?
Especially the ski lift thing! It wasn't Larry's fault the lift broke so why would he have to abide by someone else's law? That's the equivalent of a Muslim telling me I can't eat during their Ramadan? That would be absurd even to a Muslim.
Who didn't know Fox was doing it on purpose? Of course he was.
this is an amazing clip. makes me want to watch the season
This is the best bit on a show with a long history of really great bits. So good.
"... Commendable" Hahahaha, the genuine admiration kills me.
i like to think that music actually plays when he questions someone, and everyone else can hear it too but just kinda ignores it
Love this sooo much always worth rewatching
This has to be my favorite sequence in the series, such an indulgent diversion from the formula of kvetching about restaurants
When he was interviewing the Jew and finds out Larry didn’t follow the tenants of the religion lol
This reminds me of the last episode of Seinfeld... but in a different way?
Exactly, the scene with the Islamic High Council (or something) felt like straight Larry David writing.
It's "The Opposite"! Lol instead of being condemned in retrospect he's praised for his actions
These are perhaps the best 3 minutes in Curb Your Enthusiasm's illustrious history!
“HELL NAW! He could’ve had ALLL THIS!” LMAO
I got a red snapper that talks to ya!
