Hey Mike, I gotta tip for you a #1 district 38 desert racer taught me. When you're riding hard and you think you are beginning to overheat, hold the throttle wide open and press the kill switch for a second or 2,...or 3. It floods the cylinder with raw, unburned fuel and cools it a few degrees. Will keep you from seizing your bike. Also, FYI, your deadman isn't doing what it's meant to do if you don't attach it to you. If you come off your quad and it stays on all 4 wheels, it won't stop until it hits something, or someone. And if for some reason the throttle gets stuck wide open...well, you can guess the carnage.
If you have a run away 2 stroke a kill switch won’t do anything. I blew up a jet ski when it ran away from me. At wide open 2 strokes run like a diesel and it does not need any electronics to continue running.
My 2 CENT The DYNO run got me little concerned. When revving that high and NOT pull the clutch direct instead leting it engine break, at MAX RPM its looking for trubble. Especially on highly tuned 2 stroke..
Awesome content as usual! I've heard that dirt tires can cause a lot of drag in the dunes. May be an idea in the future for a comparison video. Keep up the good work!!!
Mike sabo. I would love to see you pop up at the raptor rally this year. We will also be there in October. One year we actually shared the weekend with the 250f crew. Both the 250r and the raptor rally were at the same park shelter. Great guy’s. They are really fun to hang with.
Bummer on the R. Man I usto read and dream about riding in the dunes late 90 thru early 00 in dirtwheels magazine. I still would love to but no quads anymore and I dont know anyone that rides quads anymore. That's a truly amazing trip. You've been living the dream Mike.
I have watched two videos in a row and watched you got from 89.9k subs to 90k subs to 90.1k subs. I hope it continues to grow that quick. Great videos man!
I know that stuff is aftermarket and stuff by I always had issues running 2 kill switches , but I would just run the tether and hook it your your wrist, making the wiring simple helps a lot when your trying to diagnose an electrical issue
Just need to ride it man. If it breaks fix it again...lol no biggie. I grew up on those dunes from my 1982 Honda ATC 185s when I was 12 to now with my Polaris Rzr XP at 48.. lol love the dunes.. wish would've known yall were here in would've came and got some Autographs.. lol love the videos man.. keep it up.
Have you thought to try cerakoting the top of the Piston drag racers have been doing it to help keep the temperature of the combination chamber down I've seen it done with dirt bikes should be fine for a quad just a thought for you
My biggest question here is your fuel mixture ??? Break in depending on temperature of the area should be 24 to 28 to 1. Lube it let it smoke and foul plugs. Then if its in the 70s or low 80s move up to 28 to 32 to 1. Pull the plug often to get a reading. Very little hills should be taken it.
Jst is tripping on the dirt bikes at the dunes are dangerous. They ride so much smoother then anything else on the sand. Now I don’t know about a old cr250r. But my crf450r is a animal on the sand.
Sand is hard on shit! I've always been nervous running my shit in the sand. Love the build and I'm totally jealous of the quad click you guys run with!
I'm so used to not seeing the front wheels. It's weird with the cut fenders. I'm always looking ahead. But with the cut fenders I always looking at the tires
Bro, just run the thing. If it blows up, fix it. You're out there to have fun, not worry about your bike blowing up -- so have fun! I know that it's hard to let go sometimes when it's in your head, but it's a 2t... blowing it up ain't the end of the world. If you can't have fun unless the 2t is running primo, you need to just hang it up and get a 4t to ride... Plus, it sounds like you like to work on them anyway, so if it blows up you'll have fun fixing it. When you have a posse like that with you, you know you'll at least have a tow back to camp.
Love watching these videos. And if you michael sabo see this I noticed you dont wear your kill teather. Wearing mine has actually saved my life and also last time I went it helped too because I dislocated my shoulder and it almost ran away lol
Good video as always, some awesome stuff. Your not crazy Mike at 1 point I could hear motor noise, when you said about being nervous it def was piston slapping or something. It's hard to tell thru video and I'm no expert but built quite a few motors and been around alot of machines.
Never realized how bumpy the dunes are. My arms would of been dead for sure after a day of riding in that. Still tho looks like a lot of fun. Do you ride sleds in the winter? Come up to Canada and join us.
Sounds very crisp. Hey at least you know if it breaks down you got plenty of people around that aren't going to leave you hanging. I would ride it like you stole it if I was you but hey... you do what you do. Personally I don't mind running even a 15 tooth sprocket in the front but that's because I'm about top speed. Also I prefer to keep the airbox lid on because it quiets the engine just enough. What Reed did you decide to go with?
When my quad dies on me like that it always makes my heart sink so hard. Especially when I just drove hours to go ride somewhere, shits always a gamble
When are you going back to little Sahara? I’ve got a KFX450R also. And like to see yours in person. I’m located in Okc. Let me know. I’m racing my quad. Thanks bud keep up the good work 👊🏼👍🏼
man sometimes it takes a long time to iron out all the kinks . but when you do it will be the most reliable bike you will ever own . i posted a couple of videos of mine . i want to build a channel of my racing and riding . ill be getting a go pro soon . ive been out since 10-3 with a torn rotator cup . but im getting better
good stuff the money it takes to get these to run on sand is incredible, it’s so unforgiving. did you check your plug? it sounds like it’s perfect but right on the edge of pinking like a lean engine
"Your gas is off" was the biggest relief then goes five more feet then shuts off again got me like..fawwwkk😂😂
Justin has absolutely no filter when he speaks 🤣 definitely love the quads

District 38💪 You gonna be at the Veterans Race?
Thats right!

@@mikeyfaulknor9970if it’s done right a kill switch will save lives and money
In the 90’s and early 2000’s my buddies and I would go for a week to little Sahara like 5 times a year. Love that place
Nobody:
Micheal every time he takes the quad on sand "it keeps dying idk why"
Great video can't wait for part 2 🤙

Nobody is going to talk about the dune buggy doing a wheelie
Ikr it was sick
Right! It was so casual in the back...so sick
Anything under 200 degrees should be golden
I love it out there I’m from Oklahoma! Being able to ride 24hrs is the best cannot beat the feelings riding at night through the dunes!!!
Buen trabajo amigo, muy buenas esas motos para andar en la brecha
So worth the wait man. Always good videos when you post something. Looks like a really great place

Thats a cute little sandbox...Glamis is where you want to ride sand dunes. Pismo beach in central coast is awesome kinda same size as little sarah
What a dream. Almost too jealous to watch, but I owe it to you to watch, since you took us along. That takes a lot of effort. Thanks
Man I love watching your videos Man you rock man you give me good inspiration man motivation thanks for everything God bless you have a good day man
You can tell it's running lean. It revs up after he let's up on the gas.
I have to get out there man. I freakin love that R you built, can’t wait to see another one in the future

Nice work! love the 250r videos. I wish we had sand domes in Canada. Lol.
me too 😂
Lets get you out here to the other Little Sahara in Utah. It's defiantly a blast out here
Mike, my first ride in the dunes, down at Silver Lake I left my fuel off as well. Made for a good laugh. Pretty relieved though.
Yay!. Finally the Little Sahara Video :)
Also good job on tuning your carb. Check out ceramic coatings. You can do this for your piston as well as your transmission.
Been waiting for this! I remember the first time I went to little sahara earlier this year, what a great time. The 250r looks awesome dude!
Never be scared of what your bike is going to do
Your right. If something goes wrong it's going to go wrong.
0:22 the stock 250r gorgeous

So sad I didn’t make the trip to meet you that was my dad on the zilla with Andrew jean who is a good friend of mine both my bikes were down this year
Have you thought to try cerakoting the top of the Piston drag racers have been doing it to help keep the temperature of the combination chamber down I've seen it done with dirt bikes should be fine for a quad just a thought for you
Thats a good idea for him. I thought about that too.
I just really hope you get that figured out and I'm 99% sure that's stupid valve is stopping your gas from flowing properly
Nice vid looks like a great time I’m about 4 hrs from little Sahara and made it a mission to get out there!
Looks like hell of a great time. I'm in Va so I'll probably never get to ride there but there's always hope. Live Fast, Ride Smooth 👍

I'm so used to not seeing the front wheels. It's weird with the cut fenders. I'm always looking ahead. But with the cut fenders I always looking at the tires
Looking forward to going next year.
When did you cut the fenders!
I believe they are maier fenders that already come with the race cut look
@@GBDunknRollCD ah nice. I saw the whole build, for some reason I didn't remember that. I prefer standard fenders (08 raptor 700 grey)
Yeah that place has a weird driveway for trailers I stayed at the same place about a week ago loved the dunes my first but certainly not my last

The faster you go the less bumps there are if you cruise it kills, my advice is to stand up while cruising slow
