I stopped riding 25-30 years ago, the itch has been steadily building for the last few years to where it has hit the breaking point. I have always like the Shadow, but now, there will be a new one in the garage before the end of summer. Thanks for your content, it has only helped solidify my choice.
I think that it would be an excellent choice. Make sure that you test ride one first if you can before you purchase (if that's available to you, of course ).
I got one in 650 dlls. I removed the carburetor and cleaned it. I changed spark plugs, oil, antifreeze, air filter, brake oil, and ignition key switch, I added a new battery, I cleaned the tank I changed the gas filter and all those parts, and I changed the color. now it looks beautiful. It came with updated pipes and sounds so nice. A day ago, I removed the carburetor to rebuild it and change all the new pieces. I installed new hoses and a new cooler tank reserve, and I will change the bar's color and make another modification. I love this bike.

I've got an 04 Aero 750 with just over 35,000 miles and it's still running just like a new one. I also have a 15 Honda CRF250L dual sport I adventure on. Honda definitely makes a fine product that hasn't ever let me down. I live in Florida so the Aero 750 is my daily rider to and from work. I want a Magna 750 next but they are getting harder to find around where I live. I want that banana yellow one from 2000. I'll have one in the garage soon enough.
If Honda made a 1200 Shadow with the exact same styling as the 750, I think they’d sell a bunch. I bought my wife a new 2006 Shadow Aero and it was an excellent motorcycle. She had to stop riding, so we sold it a few years ago. My only fault with it was that it kinda ran out of steam on the interstate. To this day, I think the Aero is one of the best motorcycles ever made. Ride safe.

When we lived on UES of Manhattan there was this amazing redhead who would ride her Shadow down York Avenue. Braver than me. I kept my Yamaha Stratoliner upstate and rode it in the Catskills early on Sunday mornings before anyone woke up. I've never ridden a Shadow, but nonetheless, great hit for Honda. I trust Redhead is still doing fine.
I've been looking at other bikes, my wife asked me what I was going to do with Jelly(my shadow) I said "CHOPPER" and told her she could blame this guy I watch named Lucky ACES lmao
I bought a mint 1999 VT750 Shadow ACE with just over 7,000 miles on it. But I didn’t have the jack all the way under it and it fell against a pole in my garage and dented the tank😢
Dang, man, that really sucks. I'm sorry to hear that. Accidents do happen, and believe me, I have done my share of bone head maneuvers, lol. Hopefully, you can replace or get the dent fixed.
You know it, brother. Bikes going to be down for some maintenance this week. Chain replacement, oil and fluid change. Should be ready for some distance once the cooler weather arrives
We'll check out your friend's channel. RV/Camping is our thing haha.. I just started riding a few months ago. I already sold my first bike and I'm considering Honda for my next bike

I really do love my shadow... But here lately it's been a struggle to ride With working remote and really not having any place to go anymore... The hassle of getting all the gear on I'm actually putting on real pants and not sweatpants... Really gets to be an issue.
So, working remotely doesn't allow for any places to ride? I'm confused. Did you happen to move to a location where it's difficult? Not being a smart ass just trying to understand?
@@meandmyshadow7839 Oh not taken that way:) The issue is that with working remote I no longer have ride to the office. Ii Tim I hope all is well. I bought a 2004 Yamaha V-Star 1100 recently, needed an inexpensive second bike when my 2015 Honda Shadow Aero is in the shop for maintenance or repairs. So riders pick up a second older inexpensive bike so that your never are left without a bike. Keep up the good work. Go Bills!
I have a '98 750 ACE out in the shed I've been meaning to get back on the road. Fun little bike, way easier to handle in the parking lot than my road King. My only complaints about the shadow was it was a bit cramped on long trips, pegs would have helped there obviously, and not sure what year yours is, but the real early 750 Shadows have mechanical lifters that need adjustment every couple thousand miles, not impossible to DIY but it's a pita.
Mine is a 2003. I haven't had that issue. No adjustment needed. The 750 can be a bit cramped if your taller but your correct different pegs will definitely help.
At 6'2" I put 8 inch forward controls kit for around 50 bucks off ebay on my 99 750 ace and it is so comfortable now. Only problem is no one else can reach to ride it now lol .

How much older is old enough? I know I can’t take any Honda to my local dealer than 2000. They simply won’t work on it. I’m 76 and I can see well enough to get around, I can change my own oil but when it comes to all the buttons and pieces of plastic on my 2015 Goldwing is more than I have patience for. To me the oldest Shadow I’m looking at is 2011 when they started using fuel injection. I’ve been as far as central South Carolina, carrying money for the purchase and it turned out to be a scam. I was lucky to get the drop on these yokels or I would still be there. I’ve bought more than five vehicles on EBay and another marketplace with no trouble but that one stopped me cold.
That is a good question. I haven't had any trouble with dealers not working on my bike yet, however I have not had anything done except for new tires.
