Ordered my first Hengst filter two days ago.. My usual source used to sell Mann but for some reason, the quality of parts offered has dropped drastically!! So I switched to another vendor and the lowest priced filter offered is Hengst and with the research I did was up to muster!! Can't wait to do my oil change this weekend!!

I had already come to the conclusion that the Hengst filters are the best. After seeing this, I am now even more impressed with their products 🙌

Never a disappointing video from Jamie. Super cool hopefully they can make filters for electric vehicle drivetrains as well so they don't go under when these cars ICE cars are no longer able to be sold as new in Germany.

In my VW 2.5 07k, their oil filters collapse on me and the orings leak oil from the housing. I’ve never had issues with MANN filters. Maybe it’s just this application. 🤷‍♂️

This is great for the actual company factory he is showing here.. but what they don't show you are the half azz contractor facilities, like for example in Mexico that make the Hengst for Honda etc... those are lower end QC for sure if you have ever seen them opened up.

  • @Camilllllllllle06296

Don't be fooled. OE Hengst ≠ afterm. Hengst !
Selling failed (per manufacturer specs.) filter without warning on the aftermarket is a good way to save some money on thoose rejection rates. Also rejected ones aren't crushed or something they have near invisible default you wont spot then assuming "oh it's the same, made in the same exact factory".
Ask you the question. If hengst sold the exact same filter per manufacturer specifications why they wouldn't have wrote it on the box ? "Same as manufacturer spec. lineup". Of course they would of tell it's massive selling point/advantage ! They are simply not the same. Reason they're playing ambiguous by their branding blinding the lines between OE and OEM...

The last 3x OE filters I bought for my car - from the main dealer - were made in different countries and had slightly different fonts/layouts.
An automotive company often carries several suppliers to keep them competitive and ensure consistency of supply
As for Hengst (Mann, Bosch etc) selling below par products in their own packaging... makes no sense. If anything I'd expect those to be better quality.
