I enjoyed this video. I've done springs/shocks/struts a few times but never replaced control arms. Seems feasible now. However, I would like a follow up vid or comments on if you actually notice a difference in the ride, like was control arms actually worth the hassle to replace. Anyways, great vid!

Ironically the stamped OEM control arms are stronger than tubular despite what people say on the internet, you can just pull the control arms off and replace the bushings instead of the entire arm, saves money

Next time you have a bolt of some type that just spins like that control arm, apply pressure to it laterally against the threads, your tire iron would have worked perfectly. Common mechanic trick because tie rod ends always do that, you found out shocks do too.

The stock control arm bolt wasn’t spinning, I know I said it was but it wouldn’t move at all lol it was seized to the metal sleeve in the bushing unfortunately. Thanks for the tip

I'd be interested to know how in the world you torqued everything once on the ground. I'm about to get all of this done on my late father's car and there's no way I can get that far under there with a torque wrench lol!

Skip to 26:40 and listen for about 20 seconds. I explain how I use cribs to get the car under load while it’s in the air. I make them out of 2x4’s and show an example in the video

You could also simply drive it up on those plastic ramps you buy for oil changes or whatever. Cribs get it a good bit higher up in the air tho so that’s why I made them. You’ll spend about the same money for the ramps as you would for the 2x4’s

Those sprigs are very soft. With my motor and trans out the car still sits very low.

I’ve been driving on them for almost a year now.. still look brand new. I check everything on the car once a month or so

Dont need the quad shocks since you swapped to tubular arms.....

The quad shocks keep the axle housing in place under load, they're necessary unless you want your axles twisting all over
