    Great video and appreciate the attention to detail! Thanks for helping to make my first window tinting rodeo a pretty decent success. The only commentary I have is regarding the 3rd brake light. Squeegeeing around it may work, but I'd encourage removal first, if possible. Typically they are just held in place with a couple of screws or clips.

    The squeegees have a semi firm rubber edge. when using them, you need to spray the film with your soap and water solution so that the squeegee will move smoothly across the film without sticking. water on the outside of the film is ok at this point; you are just trying to force the water solution out from between the window and the film.

    This was a great video, one of the best I've seen actually. Here's a question...what if you screw up after applying to the inside I.e. big hair, dirt or rip in film. How do you remove the film without breaking the rear de-mister lines?

    • @InstallProz
      @InstallProz  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Chris Roberts we recommend using a steamer. This video shows you how we remove window film. If the film was recently put on, you shouldn’t have an issue with it the film pulling apart or having much glue left behind. Once the tint is removed, you can use an adhesive remove to get any glue remaining off. m.th-cam.com/video/aiCPdCxE9-U/w-d-xo.html

    Very detailed instruction on how to... Why is there an necessary use of dryer bounce sheet? My guess- Is it because of acting in somewhat waxy property so that makes easier to remove the sheet off the window?

    Here are some kits on amazon that we would recommend purchasing. There is an option to buy the kit with the tools we use in the video, you just need to select the kit you want to the right of the picture. Make sure you send an email with your vehicle information and shade of tint, as these ads are not vehicle specific and that information will be needed to cut the correct patterns.

    Thankyou

    • @InstallProz
      @InstallProz  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Most cars, you should be shrinking every window. How much curve there is in the window is the primary factor.

  • @louie000007
    @louie000007 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    In another video, you used the wet solution to shrink the tint on the side window. Why the different in method? If you don't mind me asking?

    • @InstallProz
      @InstallProz  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      louie000007 the back window has a lot more curve to it; this method helps keep the tint against the window while shrinking it. Without the bounce pad, the tint will want to lift off of the window.

  • @Eddie_adventures
    @Eddie_adventures 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hi, I have seen videos where they don't use a heat gun at all, is the heat gun completely necessary?
    Thanks in advance.

    • @InstallProz
      @InstallProz  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Douglas, for most back windows, the heat gun is necessary to avoid getting fingers (areas of the film that stick up). While a hair dryer could be used to accomplish the same thing, it doesn't work as quickly. Heat shrinking the tint will save you a lot of trouble when installing the film. Should you need some computer cut patterns, check out our website www.installproz.com

    Welp, I'm back again because I have a newish car (2016 ct200h). I've used your videos every time to tint my windows and your's are the only ones that go through everything in a clear and concise and in real time.
    I've shrunk the rear window film on other vehicles according to exactly what you have in this video and zero issues, however my new car has a rear windshield wiper... so I am unable to put the tint all the way on the back windshield due to that... Can the rear window tint be shrunk on the front windshield mainly because it's a nice big surface or will it not work right because it's technically not the rear windshield shape? I searched everywhere trying to find an answer and it doesn't appear to come up, so that's what makes me wonder why do you do in a case like this where physical access to the entire rear windshield is blocked by an item that can't be removed...etc.

    • @InstallProz
      @InstallProz  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The front windshield would not have the same curvature as the back windshield. We do one of two things--remove the back wiper, or pull it away from the window by attaching a string to it that is attached to something strong enough to hold it. Hopefully that makes sense. Unfortunately, you want to shrink the pattern on the back window.

    Do all pre cut kits need to be shrunk with heat gun?

    • @InstallProz
      @InstallProz  7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Whether or not you need to shrink your pre cut tint kit really depends on the vehicle. Vehicles with straight glass like a jeep wrangler do not need to be shrunk. Windows that have a lot of curve in them like a VW beetle will need to be shrunk to lay flat on the glass. Taking the time to shrink the film on the outside of the window will make your life a lot easier when you start to install the tint.

  • @emransampao9730
    @emransampao9730 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    How do you heat the tent.
    Do you turn on the heat gun to a max or low power.

    • @InstallProz
      @InstallProz  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      emran sampao it really just depends on the person using the heat gun. The higher you have the temperature, the faster you need to move the heat gun and the further you need to keep it away from the tint. The higher heat makes it easier to melt the film. If you haven’t tinted before, we would recommend starting out with the heat on low. If you find that it isn’t shrinking the film fast enough for you, turn up the heat. The film we include in our tint kits shrinks very well. You can check them out on our website www.installproz.com

    • @InstallProz
      @InstallProz  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If the curve in the window is not too great--a truck window can generally fall into this category--you wouldn't need to heat shrink the tint; however, heat shrinking the film will make the likely hood of getting "fingers" in the film much less likely.

    • @InstallProz

      A vetted rear window is certainly a challenging window to start shrinking tint on. Most professional shops use computer cut patterns to avoid cutting on expensivecars. They choose not to install computer cut patterns purchased on the internet because it cuts into their profit margin. Also, if they mess up a pattern, they can't just grab a piece of tint off of their roll in the shop, as it won't likely match.

      Jose Canoy if the haze hasn't gone away within a week, we would recommend taking it back to the dealer and asking them to fix it. If dirt or dust got behind the film during installation, you will need to remove the film, clean the window, and install new film to fix the problem.
