    @Hairline Confessions Why at the end Did You prefer Mwamba to Couto? Do you put them at the same level about temple and hairline?

    • @HairlineConfessions
      @HairlineConfessions  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I think we can all agree that Dr. Couto is probably the best out there if all his results look like the select cases he shows off on his TH-cam channel. Price was a big factor for me. I’ve paid less than half of what Couto quoted me. I’ve also preserved some grafts. Fingers crossed I made the right decision!

      @@HairlineConfessions Really? Dr Couto proposed you more graft than Mwamba? Usually Couto in their works tends to use a few grafts than other surgeons, sounds interesing! Have You also been conditionated by the long waiting list after the consultation with Doc Couto?

    • @HairlineConfessions
      @HairlineConfessions  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      To be honest I was surprised at the number from Dr. Couto. I had a third face to face consultation with another top surgeon who quoted me 1000 grafts. Will have to wait and see if I have the density I need from the 1200!

      @@andreatonti1487 In one of the videos Couto even quoted him 2000 grafts which is insane for a touch up, before reducing it to 1600. I was very surprised by the fact that Couto wasn't conservative at all. We see his best results on TH-cam, but not the difficult cases. I don't understand why such a world class surgeon is quoting so many grafts when the patient can lose more hair on the top in the future.

      @@hyperpedro2868 Actually is the first time I saw Couto exaggerate with the graft.
      If You take a lot inside the major forum in the web You can admire how He is able to resolve many cases with only 3000-3500 grafts. The same patient if was gone to another surgeon He would have received at least 5000 graft... I'm glad if other colleagues are capable to do a great job with a few graft as well

    The attention to detail these top surgeons give is incredible. I’ve heard great things about Mwamba, no doubt you’ll get great results.

    14 hours for 1200 grafts, shows the precision the doctor had when doing this surgery. Bravo!
    If you don't mind me asking, how much did you pay for this second transplant?

    • @HairlineConfessions
      @HairlineConfessions  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well, it’s worth noting that Dr. Mwamba performs on 2 patients per day.
      I paid less than half of what I was quoted by Dr. Couto. Obviously I’ve got less grafts, but it was also cheaper.

      @@HairlineConfessions 1200 grafts sounds like plenty, I assume it was around 5 Euro per graft? Did they tell you how many grafts was used at the temple areas?

    Wow I am incredibly surprised you exactly did what I commented a month ago. I suspected doctor Couto was quoting too many grafts. I think you will get great results while saving a good amount of money and also hundred of grafts for the rainy days. Very good choice. The price is actually pretty good for a 14 hours world class work. I am actually considering him for a touch up in the future as I know every graft will be used in the best possible way with doctor Mwamba. And for smaller procedures, it is not that expensive for top quality.

    Nice job! Always watching your video’s from the first HT.
    I had contact with the clinic a few weeks ago, can’t wait for a consultation. I would like to know how they homogenize the donor area, can you explain that in a next video?
    Good luck with the recovery!

    • @HairlineConfessions
      @HairlineConfessions  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well they’ve taken from areas that hadn’t been overharvested. Mostly from the left side, because that was in the best condition after the first transplant.

    • @ZeoWorks
      @ZeoWorks ปีที่แล้ว

      @@HairlineConfessions Did they mention the quality of your donor area after the first transplant?
      Would they say it looks overharvested for 3500 grafts?

    • @HairlineConfessions
      @HairlineConfessions  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Dr. Couto was more critical of it than Dr. Mwamba was. No question that it’s overharvested. If you look at 1:08 it doesn’t look good at all. Obviously when my hair was longer it was nowhere near as noticeable though. Mwamba drew an image of how grafts should be extracted. Think of a 3x3 grid. Grafts should be taken as a diamond. So top row in the middle, left and right on second row (not middle), then middle on bottom row. Does that make sense? When grafts are taken too closely together it leaves a patch. So his method is to never take them side by side.

    • @ZeoWorks
      @ZeoWorks ปีที่แล้ว

      @@HairlineConfessions Ah I see, makes sense. I suppose that's the downside of picking a place that had technicians do all the work, I feel like my donor has the same overharvested issue as yours (especially given we both went to Elithair). Dr. Mwamba's work looks so clean, you're going to get some terrific results!
      There is a discussion within the hair transplant community as to wither or not Elithair actually extracts & implants the amount of hairs they quote, but hey.. given how cheap Elithair was; we have some very incredible results!

      @HairlineConfessions  ปีที่แล้ว

      Prices are on his website. I did get a bit of a discount for agreeing to send back pictures and videos. Always worth enquiring about that.
      From my memory, I would say that Dr Mwamba performed around 25% of the extractions, 100% of the punching and then roughly 60% of the implantation. He works on two patients a day.
