You said that doing FUE removal of transplanted grafts on the hairline leaves scars. I'm in Australia and they did just that, but after they removed the grafts, they filled the holes with skin grafts taken from behind each ear. The skin heals very well from there. Quite simple, they FUE'd the bad graft out, and then fue'd a skin graft of a matching hole size. When they healed it was impossible to see where the grafts were taken. The skin grafts had to be very specially cared for by me ensuring they weren't bumped and I didn't wash my hair for a week as they can be easily knocked out. So it's absolutely possible to take out bad grafts from the hairline and it's commonly done here. Cheers.
Not only is the US way more expensive, but they’re are also fewer good doctors/clinics. Turkey has some of the best doctors and clinics if you look well (note: not saying everywhere in Turkey is good)
According to your statement at 4:45 about the age of a hair transplant and based on your clinical practice, what is the average age for a hair transplant for someone already under medical therapy?
Definitely! It’s like they just use a stencil for everyone’s hairline and pack it with doubles and triples lol I rarely see a Turkish hairline that looks natural with single grafts at the front
It’s becoming more common hopefully the prices eventually start to come down in America. You could make a case that there’s some emotional damage by losing your hair. Maybe insurance companies will start covering it.
There is a reason why the prices in Turkey are the way they are. I’ve had a hair transplant in Turkey, and in the US. And the experience is night and day. I had a good experience on Turkey. And my doctor in Turkey actually did do all incisions, which is incredibly rare in Turkey for the doctor to really do much more than just draw a hairline and then dip out. But my doctor in the US was available from the beginning. He FaceTimed me prior to my appointment, me with me for like 45 minutes to talk about everything before the surgery. We went back and forth and how we both through the hairline should look. And when it came to the actual surgery, the doctor did the entire thing. He had help with implanting the graphs, but he never left the room the entire time. He called and texted me the next day. The doctors in the US (at least the good ones) are way more involved. You can go to Turkey for a hair transplant, and I’m not against. But you have to do research and pay extra for the doctor to at least create all the incisions for you. That is the most important part, because that is what is actually creating your hair pattern.
wish I could go with you for my hair transplant Dr. Linkov, but it’s just so expensive 😞 I’ll probably end up going to turkey. Love your content though, Doc!
Maybe I'm being ignorant, but I have a weird question... how come instead of using people's own hair follicles, medicine don't make use of hair donor from deceased people? as long as you find a suitable matching donor just like it would be the case with organs, find a suitable hair donor and collect the hair, allowing for more hair to be transplanted. Also, as option two, how come there are no "hair farms" using a person's own cells?
Organ transplants from another person ain't easy. I'm pretty sure you have to be on immunosuppressants for the rest of your life, because your immune system naturally wants to reject the organ since its cells are foreign. Would you be willing to go on immunosuppressants for the sake of hair? I wouldn't. Lol.
Decades ago they tried to transplant hair grafts from other people and it never worked….the body rejects foreign grafts. I’ve always wondered if they used medicine they give organ transplant patients which suppresses the body’s immune response to foreign cells or used stem cells would work.
