    For same labor and material cost, you should have done much better. Get a hot water pressure washer with some degreaser - an hour does wonders (you probably own one - and if not, get one to get rid of that salt). Then hit bad rust with mechanical abrasive, then rust inhibitor. Then cheapo sprayer with a couple gallons paint. Some quick masking and you'd end up with something that looks almost new, with far thicker/durable paint that won't rust in 2 years. Spray paint in cans doesn't cover well and is thin, so weathers/rusts quickly

    Was doing some research Meyer has a 10.5 ft V with Wings would be a 12.5 ft V. Yes Meyer also makes Wings for the V plows now.

    Not trying to be real critical, but if you paid your man for 3-4 days of readying it for paint, why not at least put some "good" paint on it, or spend another half day taping and papering and do it right? In the long run it'll pay back.

    The paint cost is usually the low cost of the project . its the grinding ,sanding, and all the labor that goes into doing all the prep.., Is where the real cost is....

    Nice. I'd like to paint the backhoe at work. It needs to be fixed up first before we do anything cosmetic to it.

Is there a Sq foot prices and a hour rates range for trucks and equipment rates and sizes. Would like to talk more I know your busy but your a people person and so am i.

    three and a half days labor made it economical to have someone else shoot it for 800, unless it's a slow time for you.

    totally agree with you about a cheap paint job.

      i have a jacobsen commercial 36(my first commercial mower) and it definitely made a difference,i honestly think customers dont care if you have new machines/trucks or not as long as they dont look like crap or bother the neighbors because they run so badly they smoke.

    • @PrimoLandscaping
      @PrimoLandscaping 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +fixt100 I agree with keeping your machines running tip top. Some customers do care about the condition or look of the machines. I kid you not that the first customer I got in a very expensive neighbourhood came to inspect the cleanliness of my machines before signing a contract with me. They were all clean and we signed. That was 3 years ago. They're still my clients and I now have 6 regulars in that area :-)

      i have to wash mine before i go to a certain customers house because they told me they had another company bring mushrooms and dandylion seeds on their machines to their house and it contaminated their yard. (i honestly could easily see this happening and um ya they have a nice lawn that they spend decent money on keeping nice).

    I'm a 15 year equipment painter. Queuing in on "Lawnfarmer"'s comment below, and, he's right. Let's say you're paying your yardmonkey, $15 an hour. Over 3 days, that's $360. then, you factor in, another $150 for paint and supplies. that's $510. the problem is, you paid all that, for a rattle can job, and I'm sorry, it's not going to hold up, as much as a $1,600 paint job, which would have used better paint. I've got a better, and proven, idea. Go to Harbor Freight, pick up a paint gun for $15(And those do a great job!), I know you have a compressor on site, so, not cost for that. Go to Tractor Supply and drop $40 on paint and $18 on acetone. tape, around $25 . Labor, around 180(based on $15 hr). So for around $268 smackers, you'll get a FAAARRRR superior paint job, and, it should take you, one, long day. $510 for poop...$268 for better.

    I have just purchased a kobelco sk200lc I will use it for demo for my county how do you come up with your equipment rate with fuel, labor and markup thanks

    • @Dirtmonkey
      @Dirtmonkey  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Eugene Stephens jr Market price dictates what you will be able to ultimately get. You need to match what other people in your area are charging and then give better service. Ie-just return phone calls, communicate better etc. That one move will set you apart from the others.
