Wow, I wish every young and not so young woman watches this video and see how a wife papers her husband with such love and care. Also, for young man and not so young men to see how much a man does for his family. You and your family are a good role model for present and future generations to imitate. Congratulations!!!!
March 2022, and I have posted my first videos. I am hesitant but at the same time I want to risk it all. I want to show you my world in Kenya. Hoping that you will love it. Hoping that I will enjoy it too.
Hi Abby, what another wonderful video. Your video's are so cozy I want to jump into the screen and join you when have your tea time. I know just what you mean about grandmothers wonderful memories. When we would spend the night we all looked forward to grandma's breakfasts as well. I remember her breakfasts were so wonderful. Just like your video today. She would also add side pork which I haven't had for years. There were no booster seats during that time so I sat on a pile of catalogs on a chair. Grandma's diningroom was small and looking back how a family of six and Grandma and my aunt all fit around that table I will never know, but we did! As we ate our breakfast I can remember one window in the diningroom that housed beautiful green plants that were so lush and green. Regarding old appliances, my parents bought a chest freezer in the 60's. When I got married in 1982 they gave me their freezer. I'm 63 and that beautiful Sears and Roebuck freezer stopped working just this last year. They don't make appliances to last anymore. So happy you found your waffle iron and thank you for taking me down memory lane.
Gail Ann, Grandma’s make the best breakfast ever! I love your sweet memories as well, gave me all the cozy feels. I love family stories 🥰 And that freezer was a gem 💎 they sure don’t make anything like that these days.
I’m a new subscriber to your channel and have watched many of your videos over the weekend while I’ve been sick in bed. Here’s my favorite thing about you, so far- the care with which you do each task. It’s not that you’re obsessed with doing it all perfectly, but you’re intentionally present in the moments and it’s lovely to see.
Oh my goodness… that is the exact waffle iron my Mother has. She has used it for many years. We as kids could not wait to come back from doing our chores on our 30 acre farm in the morning before school and waffles waiting on the kitchen table . You have brought back so many memories for me. Blessings Helena Montana. 😊
Don't ask me how? Or why? All I know is that I really enjoyed this video. For some reason, I felt as if I was participating in the family meal. Weird, but true. Wow!!! I can't explain it but it was unbelievable. I cannot even comprehend why this happened?

I’ve just worked an incredibly busy shift at my hospital and to come home, make a coffee and sit and listen to your soothing voice is so relaxing. Love how you preserve things. The bowl with the crack still serves a purpose and is worthy of a place on the table. The Japanese treasure broken things and repair and still use them. They call it waving Saba. Love that these ideas cross cultures and are a mindset.
Another memory… the bright tin cup of bacon grease with the pastry brush was painted on the square irons in the waffle maker and the waffles didn’t stick

I didn't have a waffle maker, had one for years never used it so I sold it. Your recipe made me want to make waffles, thought about it a few weeks, and I bought one at a trifth shop. Made your recipe, so yummy. Since I never made waffles before, it took three tries for them to finally come out, the first two got stuck to the waffle maker. thank you for your video and recipe.
I can imagine how wonderful your kitchen smelled that day from waffles, tea and coffee! Beautiful and cozy moments in your sweet home! I love that both recipes have simple ingredients. I can't wait to try the syrup! Lovely video as always! 💕
Loved this video. I use an old percolator from the 60's for coffee. To keep my coffee that I don't drink right away warm I use and old stanley thermos. When I want a cup in the afternoon it is still warm. Both thrift store finds. Always a joy to watch your videos. -Sue in GR MI
Over 35 years ago when I first got married I asked my parents for a waffle maker for Christmas. My father surprised me with our family's old waffle maker that Christmas - very similar to yours - which he had cleaned meticulously bearing beautiful, shiny chrome! It was such a wonderful surprise and I still enjoy using this quality appliance today!
Your videos are always so beautiful and relaxing Abby Jo. I love that you enjoy vintage appliances. I have a very old vintage iron for quilting and I just purchased an old krumkake iron (Norwegian cookie) for my sister. She loves it because it is like mine and not made anymore. They just don’t make appliances like they used to. I so appreciate that you honor your husband and treat him with his favorite things. It is what makes a marriage a beautiful covenant. Blessings to you and I can’t wait to see your wood cook stove. I must say……I am green with envy but so happy for you!
Thank you, Karen! Old appliances are a treasure and last forever. :) Kindred spirits. Yes, I do love making my husband special food and drink. He is very appreciative; we are defiantly a team and love to work together. I can't wait to show you the wood cookstove, it's pretty special, and I can't believe I have one.
Hi Ms. Abi! This is Perla from the Philippines. I love every video and every thing that you do in your home. I love cozy feel in every corner of your home. Would you mind doing a full home tour. Thank you very much and God bless! ❤️
Thats brunch looks amazing. Fun fact because we are subtropical our strawberries are in season in winter. Haha. The strawberry farm was a gorgeous place to take the family on cool morning and pick our containers full then have morning tea in the barn by a wood fire on well worn leather lounges. Beautiful. I haven't been to the new one that I buy from here because she meets us in a teeny town not far and we buy seconds already frozen but they are delicious anyway, even if we didn't pick them ourselves . How funny , the golden book of the little red hen is right next to me , it was this morning chosen by my little girl as our wake up book. My friend bought me a copy and gave me a chook shaped handbag the other day . She is so fun , always buying gifts that make me giggle. Totally agree with vintage being made to last. Have a beautiful day or night lovelies 🥰🥰
Awww, Girl you always make me smile with your descriptive pictures of what you are doing :) I would watch your youtube if you had one friend. And you would have that book next to you, I LOVE it! Blessings friend :)
Both my grandmother and mother had waffle makers like yours, and they made the best waffles! Your whole wheat waffles looked so good, especially with the homemade whipped cream and berries! I imagine my grandmother who made everything from scratch would be dismayed to see me eating grocery store frozen waffles from the toaster ☺️
You can also use your waffle iron to make hash browns plain, or spice them up with peppers and onions even cheese, place cheese in the middle hash browns on top and bottom. Yum
This was a absolute delight to watch and I love your voice! So calming and relaxing. You would make a great story teller!.I'm a waffle lover too as opposed to pancakes. Yours look so good and there are so many options for topping them.. Your table decor is warm, cozy and inviting. I'm sure everything tastes better in this setting. Thank you for sharing this special video! ❤
Awww 🥰 thank you. I never thought of my voice that way 😊 but people keep telling me that! Waffles are the best and so many topping options. Have a blessed day. ❤️
Sadly I wore one out like you describe. I got it from my mother in law years ago. I still have her original stand mixer and I don't use it but i just love it and my issue is I no longer bake. Thanks for sharing and I can smell them now. The bowl with the crack reminds me of Wabi/Sabi Japanese beauty in the imperfect, we toss these things instead of enjoying the beauty they hold with their flaws.
Keep going with your videos, your work is lovely. Those waffles seems amazing! I really don't understand why you don't have more views. More people would be happy watching them :)

Hi Abby Jo, love this homey & cozy in the kitchen cooking video.. those wheat waffles looked so yummy 😋 with all the trimmings on top, u made me so hungry… by the way you got a great buy $ on your waffle maker love the old stainless steel style.. you have great little appliances, and gadgets..❤️ anyway your whole video was perfect seemed like you had invited me there… I’ll eat that any time of day in your kitchen.. love your table setting as well.. your kiddos are so adorable.. and the way you made your hubby his special drink he’ll appreciate that dearly.. same way I do… have to say your family is so real… keep up the good work love❤️ your channel…
YUMMY!! 😋 Those waffles looks SO delicious!! I LOVE waffles!! I so agree with you about the Old Appliances. They do last a long time. I have my Mom's Waffle Iron and I love it so much! I can switch up the plates and it makes such delicious Grilled Cheese Sandwiches as well ☺️🧇🧀🍞
Beautiful, I donated mine a few years ago. One just like that. Wouldn’t it wonderful if it had been mine? It would be like being family 😘😘. I don’t make waffles anymore. No one wants any when I’d make them. Lovely table in your kitchen 💕 ~ Janet 😘
Thank you for sharing. Youre right about the waffle maker of today. Not good. I bought one and it didnt make golden chrispy ones instead they always looked undercooked. So i finally got rid of it. Now, i am so sceptical about getting one but i so love eating and still hope to make some for my family to enjoy. Youre lucky to get yours from the thrift store for cheap. Where i live, we dont have such stores. Perhaps i will need to eventually get one again specially to try out your recipie!
Thank you for sharing this beautiful video. So relaxing. Sitting here on a chilly winter day with a cup of ginger tea and saw this pop up. Made my day. Beautiful table set with the lovely Frankoma cups and depression glass.
Aw, my daughter asked for waffles this morning. I love the old waffle iron. It looks like the one my mom had. She passed 11 years ago. I think it’s time to go on a search through the thrift stores! ❤️ Thanks for sharing another beautiful vlog.
Love your ceramic egg holder! I have a couple too. One of my dogs 🐶 loves strawberry 🍓 tops! It looks like you have an old fridge as well as a new one? Mine is from 1948.
Great video! I am gonna finally do it and buy the grain mill. I’ve wanted one for awhile but didn’t want to spend the money. But storing flour takes up a lot of space. Your waffles with the freshly ground flour looked divine! ❤️
Are those Frankoma cups? (green & brown earthenware) I grew up with that. Both my grandmother and mother had it. I have a few pieces, but not full sets like they had. They are from Missouri so it was more common there. -Take care Sue in GR MI
Yes, they are ❤️ I found the set at a resale store years ago and didn’t even know what they were. I was just Attracted to them that’s why I bought them and then someone told me what they were.
Loved the video! I’m not sure where I got my waffle iron but it looks a lot like yours! It’s been a real trooper! Ive got a Belgian waffle iron too. It’s old too…liked me!😁 Thank you so much for the chocolate recipe!❤️
That’s wonderful ❤️ love the vintage appliances! And your welcome for the recipe, I think you will like it. We toast nuts, chop bananas, and drizzle that chocolate sauce on our ice cream and is that a treat!
Thank you 😊 I was told the bowls are McCoy Ovenware USA Yellow w/ Pink & Blue Stripes Pottery Mixing Bowl. I have size #10 #12 #14 My size 14 bowl is huge!
Love your family!! What name brand is your waffle iron? You should make a video of your kitchen appliances and where you got them Im interested in the flour grinder (:
Your mix master I know is heavy. Wouldn’t it be practical for you to just keep it stored right on your prep counter where you seem you utilize this appliance so frequently? It will save you so much effort lifting and avoid any strains to your arms , shoulders and back. I’m thinking it is a kitchen aid mixer ? Those are heavy.
I don’t usually move it, it’s always on my counter. But when I film once a week for TH-cam I move it close to the window for better natural light when we film 🎥 ❤️ And yes, it a kitchen aid 😊

YUMMY!! 😋 Those waffles looks SO delicious!! I LOVE waffles!! I so agree with you about the Old Appliances. They do last a long time. I have my Mom's Waffle Iron and I love it so much! I can switch up the plates and it makes such delicious Grilled Cheese Sandwiches as well ☺️🧇🧀🍞
I just saw my plates do that too! Can’t wait to try that ❤️ waffles are so good, I guess I’m not the only one that loves them 😘
very sweet video !
Thank you very much!
That would be so cool ❤️❤️❤️ I love that we are really just buying other people’s stuff and recycling it by using it in our own homes 🥰
Your welcome! Sorry to hear that you don't have good thrift shops :( I hope you find one again.
Loved it. Thanks for sharing...
😊 Thank you, and you are welcome.
Thank you for sharing this beautiful video. So relaxing. Sitting here on a chilly winter day with a cup of ginger tea and saw this pop up. Made my day. Beautiful table set with the lovely Frankoma cups and depression glass.
Yes, I love my Frankoma cups and depression glass! It's fun to use all my pretty things. So glad you enjoyed the video :)
I just got 2 Turkeys I been getting tur8eggs there so good and meaty I have never had eaten them but I love waffles
Wonderful, I use to have ducks and there eggs are good too ❤️
I LOVED this video! Thanks! I am inspired to make waffles this weekend for my family!!
Wonderful! Hope you enjoy the recipe :)
Aw, my daughter asked for waffles this morning. I love the old waffle iron. It looks like the one my mom had. She passed 11 years ago. I think it’s time to go on a search through the thrift stores! ❤️ Thanks for sharing another beautiful vlog.
I’m sorry about your mom, that’s hard. ❤️
I think vintage appliances just work so much better. You should look for one 🥰
Thank you Abby Jo, for another lovely relaxing post xx ps, will, try the waffles.?.
I just added the links in the comments and the description box for the recipes. Thank you for watching dear :)
Thank you for the link xx
loving your videos, and your waffles look so delicious!! look forward to your next video. 💗
Thank you 😊 so glad you are enjoying them. ❤️☕️🫖🕯❄️📚
Love your ceramic egg holder! I have a couple too. One of my dogs 🐶 loves strawberry 🍓 tops! It looks like you have an old fridge as well as a new one? Mine is from 1948.
Yes, that old fridge is amazing I’ve had it forever, it works fabulous ❤️🙌❤️ The new one came with the house.
Great video! I am gonna finally do it and buy the grain mill. I’ve wanted one for awhile but didn’t want to spend the money. But storing flour takes up a lot of space. Your waffles with the freshly ground flour looked divine! ❤️
Wonderful, you will love getting a grain mill :) So excited for you!
It’s old too…liked me!😁
Thank you so much for the chocolate recipe!❤️
That’s wonderful ❤️ love the vintage appliances! And your welcome for the recipe, I think you will like it. We toast nuts, chop bananas, and drizzle that chocolate sauce on our ice cream and is that a treat!
@@ForgottenWayFarms Me too! We have a great thrift shop in the Amish Country that always has great vintage cookware.
Your recipe sounds yummy!!🤗❤️
@@oakhillstudiotisha5434 🙌❤️🙌 how fun!
Do you have any info on the yellow bowls you are using? They look like my husband's grandmother's vintage bowls. Love your channel!
Thank you 😊 I was told the bowls are McCoy Ovenware USA Yellow w/ Pink & Blue Stripes Pottery Mixing Bowl. I have size #10 #12 #14
My size 14 bowl is huge!
Love your family!! What name brand is your waffle iron? You should make a video of your kitchen appliances and where you got them Im interested in the flour grinder (:
Thank you 🥰 I think that is a great idea! We should do a video on that 🙌 I will try and do that soon. My waffle iron is a toast master and vintage.
Now I have to thrift for a waffle iron! What is the coating on your iron?
❤️ you should. I don’t think there is a coating it’s just been seasoned real good.
What type of countertop do you guys have? I live that counter and deep sink
Walnut countertops 😍
Hi Abby Jo thanks 3-22-2023❤
Thank you :)
