  • For communities that live by the ocean, livelihoods can depend on the ecosystems that live beneath the surface. ⁠

    Kenya’s coastline is dotted with thick hedges of mangroves, which are crucial for reducing poverty, building economic resilience, and offering carbon sequestration and biodiversity benefits.⁠

    Our film with BBC StoryWorks showcases how mangrove restoration projects in Mida Creek, led by Sustainable Surf’s SeaTrees and COBEC, support wildlife and local communities. Since 2021, they’ve restored 2.2 million trees!!!! We will share the full film soon.⁠
