1:17:00 The dog is the boss where most people learn how to parry attacks. after that, the game becomes easy. The trick is that you can spam your parry, and literally no one will ever hit you again. Only yellow attacks cannot be parried. Asmon made the mistake of constantly trying to use the blade mode... It only works when the game asks you to use it (often after parrying or at the right moments on bosses) or when an enemy turns blue.
to be fair the game is extremely junk to play, both the character movement and the combat, especially the automatic/manual lock on and camera, it may look cool by looking a gameplay but playing it is another experience for the worst. thats probably the only time when its not (compeltely) his fault, blaming the game would have made just a bit of sense.

This game was so underrated. I remeber joirnalist saying it is a dumb game where you cut everything but it is the point of this game. They even created a feature specially to slash everything.
This game, like all the metal gear franchise, has so much detail and depth that people completely miss. One of my favorite examples is the music played in the game. All the Boss battles have distinct music and lyrics describing the boss. They first boss fight against the dog opponent is about him fight against his will and fate and not wanting to be a slave. Later boss music are about fighting for the way of war, or feeling that fighting is the only thing they know in life, some feel that there is no changing the status quo so they might as well be on top, while other fight because they think it is only natural for humans. Many of the “villain” didn’t necessarily want to be apart of this but see it as the way things need to be.

(mind you, MGR isn't a particularly stylized game, but I'm just indulging you for the sake of argument on that point)
@@KaNoMikoProductions I don't see objects cut to thousand pieces in last of us. Tho I agree the graphics are kinda ass, but that doesn't really matter because the gameplay is good
"Memes Asmon. The DNA of the soul"
ur actually doing so well for a first timer on this game, much better than a lot of people i've watched.
Asmongold was actually doing pretty well, and it's understandable to get overwhelmed when also streaming. I hope he completes it.
Not parrying got him filtered.
God the music in this game make me want to punch a hole in a blender... While it's on. Good music always makes the game 100x better.
Asmon isnt even listening unfortunately. Just trying not to die lol.

Just wait till he gets to the stuff with Armstrong. He's gonna love it.
He quit, got beat up by girl
jezz man can’t even handle the game for 2 hours
@@JayThalea He'll probably play it off stream. Masochism is an attribute you pick up when you grow up on 90s games, which a lot were console ports of quarter devouring machines.
MGR is a decade old and still looks better than Forsakenskin...
Fox engine aged well
It even beat SSKTJL
@@roachdoggjr1454this game didn’t use the FOX engine, it’s Havok. Only phantom pain, ground zeroes, PT, and that awful MG survive game used FOX. Konami basically shelved it.

The cutting in the game is PHOENOMENAL!!! Never replicated since.
Shadow Warrior 2 did it
Where you able to CUT WHAT YOU WILL in shadow warrior???? 😳😳😳
You could say it was a CUT above the rest
Man if he can figure out how easy it is to perry, then he be able to the breeze through these boss fights. But I do get that it really messes you up when you have like thousands of people watching you.
"i'm making the mother of all omelets here jack, you can't fret over every egg."
Ah the Military Industrial Fruit Ninja Complex.
Respect for acknowledging a personal skill issue at the end instead of blaming the game itself
from what I can tell he took an hour off stream to just learn the game and switched to mouse and keyboard for followup
to be fair the game is extremely junk to play, both the character movement and the combat, especially the automatic/manual lock on and camera, it may look cool by looking a gameplay but playing it is another experience for the worst.
thats probably the only time when its not (compeltely) his fault, blaming the game would have made just a bit of sense.
The best parts of these videos are always when Asmon learns to play defensively and uses blocks, parry or dodge
Playing this game without Parrying is like playing souls game without rolling. its literally the core of the gameplay
Senator Armstrong surely will change Asmongold's life
"what you mean they got Trump before 2016 apocalypse mass brainrot??"
Armstrong is actually evil as hell but people like to overlook that part because he’s a strongman
Don’t get me wrong I like Armstrong too but people who think he’s right probably also has Homelander as their role model
Literally no one thinks he's right. He's just a good villain and a great character so people like him, it ain't that deep.
@@puenboy1same people who think of bateman from American psycho as a role model.
Oh the laugh I had at "Now I'm basically a cyborg." You start the game as a cyborg, Raiden lost both his arms near the end of MGS4, hence the "not again" remark. More of him may have also been mechanical at that point, but I don't remember what all he was missing, it's been a while since I played MGS4.
His entire body was pretty much crushed at the end of MGS2. He was already more machine than human in MGS4
The only organic parts of his body are his head and spinal chord .
@@SolidSnake240When in Sam, only his arms
@gannielukks1811 Sam is impressive because, as we found out through his DLC, he goes toe-to-toe with full cyborgs with ZERO cybernetics.
He only has the black arm replaced out of necessity after Armstrong severed it to end their fight.
@@SolidSnake240 Not even his head. He has a brain and spine. It ends there. His face and eyes and jaw are all cyber too. His hair is just for personal taste.
Every time he goes to his library I seen this game waiting there, only took a year.
Good old times when video games are FUN.
At least he learned how to lock on. I’ve seen WAY too many people play this game and not lock on until monsoon. Needs to work on his defense though
This game actually changed his life guys
I actually have to go down the comments to know that it actually changed his life
That why he quit😂
Yes, he realized he has to quit a relatively non-complicated game before he understands the combat.
Sekiro was 100% inspired by this. Parry, Losing arm, Genichiro like rival, ninja vs samurai and other shit.
Well this game is not really parry based its just blocking which is really easy but asmon is just making it hard for himself
@@rukakuu_onedaybloodborne_PC Its not copy cat, just inspiration.

Asmangold: I made the fuck up
Watching Asmon plays MGR is truly nostalgic. It's still got this satisfying feeling to it even if you're just watching someone play it.
He should really do this on stream. Its fine if its on easy mode. Cause the game is about the story, the message and the batshit insane dialogue this game has which is probably why he played it in the first place.
The gameplay is fun if you learn the parry but most people gravitate towards this game are there for the cutscenes and dialogue.
I've played this game for it's soundtrack (before the "Standing here" meme, I've heard "Rules of Nature"), I wasn't interested before because it didn't look like Metal Gear. No regrets
This game its all about gameplay and music lol story its just corny edgy bs
worst player ever, to think people follow him and he earns money for his unskill .. Sad world we live in. While some dudes with 0 streamers have insane skills dont earn anything this dude with 0 skill earns thousands
It's okay, we all learned to parry with Blade Wolf, and to lock in enemies after that as well. He did quite good for his first time, knowing he barely reads what's on the screen.
This game and Black Ops 2 really aged well with the concept of the stories they tell
And Deus Ex
BO2 really was right on the money about modern warfare being basically drone swarms

This is the first time ive watch asmon to play this kind of game
MMO players are NEVER beating the dogshit at every other game allegations
They are carried by stats progression and gear. They never actually need to get good.

@@alessandrobaggi6129 eh. SF6 is way more accessible than DMC5. He probably played some FGs in arcades in the 90s.
The bad part of DMC5 is that you need to reach Dante Must Die mode and a certain skill level in order to really unlock the most fun in that game. That game's difficulty system and curve is really bad, the lower difficulties don't demand enough skill for you to fully utilize the combat system, so it just ends up being a lukewarm experience.
Why this game isn't yet Remastered with better lighting and texture is the real question.
Suprised no1 just easily said to Parry anything red and blade mode anything blue
Metal gear rising is a single piece of ongoing fever dream
This is like Connor's stream where he didn't learn the game and kept playing really bad without using the games mechanics. Seems to be the same case here, MGRR is like one of the more simpler hack n slash games. Imagine if Asmon played DMC5, sheesh he would not get very far let me tell you that. In MGRR, you HAVE to parry, it's your defense for the most part except for unparryable attacks. If he doesn't learn, he will get his ass beat. I think baldy just can't comprehend fast-paced games, his brain is too old for quick stuff as he said
