changelings also refer to mythological shape shifting creatures similar to trolls, elves, or fairies that were described as taking the place of someone you love, especially switching themselves with children at birth. the movie you speak of is about a woman who finds her missing child is an imposter, so that makes sense.. the changelings in my little pony are loosely based off of them. in MLP a changeling tries to replace a bride and marry the groom, which is what inspired this fan-made song.

The show is so epic, but the community that the show has made, has allowed so many great musicians the chance to bloom and show that we as normal ponies can make great songs.
