That "I miss you daddy" at he end, I swear to Celestia, had tears in my eyes and an ice cold shiver run up my spine. It's that sort of feeling of you wanting to do something (release Discord), to make someone (Screwball) cheer up and make them smile and know you've reunited father and daughter, but you know you can't, no matter how much you want to, so your stuck in limbo, forced to watch a daughter suffer for the rest of her life... Oh, those damn tears are back...
Simplicity was the key. The ascending/descending chords in the bridges did a good enough job at being chaotic but not overpowering. And SiminaCindy does deserve a little more credit for playing her part of Screwball as an incredibly unhinged young girl.
I am no longer a part of this fandom, haven’t been for a long time, but this occasionally does wriggle its way back into my brain, and then I need to listen to it a good 14 times, this song is very well done, bravo from younger and current me.
This song is dark, discordant, chaotic, and all over the place. You've taken these usually-bad qualities and turned them into something that compliments the story. Well done
OK here's a crazy thought, now just bare with me for a moment here, What if Screwball wasn't the born daughter of Discord but merely his adopted daughter, like she was originally a sad & depressed ordinary pony who grew up as an orphan with no family or friends, and was on the verge of suicide until the day Discord came to Ponyville, when Screwball saw Discord making everything all whimsical & hilarious she wanted to be just like Discord, so Discord decided to give her what she wanted, by performing a Blood Transfusion with her, he was going to give her some of his Draconequus blood which is beyond all blood types so compatibility is not an issue here, however he does warn Screwball that Draconequus blood is highly unpredictable so there's no telling what could happen to her, but she doesn't care because she has nothing to live for & nothing to lose, so once the transfusion is complete Screwball ends up mutating into the weird little pony we all know her as today, she ended up gaining at least half of all of Discord's powers, not enough to warp Reality itself, but still enough to possess abilities based on the laws of Cartoon Physics on a level greater than even Pinkie Pie's, and her mind was filled with the vast knowledge of the universe making her unimaginably intelligent, but all at the cost of her sanity, common sense & logical/rational thinking making her become Totally Looney, but she ended up more happy this way than she ever was before, so basically she was lucky to have ended up this way instead of becoming some kind of horrible monster or something, and after she became some kind of Pony/Draconequus Hybrid Discord adopted her as the Daughter he never had, and Discord even told her that since Draconequi are pretty much immortal, the older she gets the more powerful she will become, so in time she may become just as powerful as him in a few eons, and once Discord was imprisoned in stone for the second time, due to the fact that Screwball was still at least half pony she didn't just disappear when all of Discord's chaos was undone(that part is evident by the fact that she has made multiple appearances in the Officially Licensed by Hasbro Published by IDW Comics MLP:FiM Comic Books), that may be a more likely explanation than just having her be born from Discord reproducing or simply born by his Magic alone, also I believe Tara Strong should voice Screwball using the same voice she used for Bubbles of the Powerpuff Girls.
Personally I've always thought that this pony was just Diamond Tiara twisted by Discord's chaos magic. They're both Earth Ponies, have the same coat color, and their manes are even the same colors as well with the distinctive white stripe in it. SB's mane is all curled and twisted because she's twisted up all over.
The adoption thing IS plausible, but if this was true then where'd her powers come from? Shes an EARTH Pony, not a Unicorn or a Pegasus, but in another video involving this song that has animation in it while Screwball and Discord are singing, it shows Screwball FLYING without the help of a magic horn or wings while Discord is still trapped in stone. *lol*

Well SandJosieph. You did a great job with the song. It's not a generic "I'm so evil" song. But tells a story that's sad ,dark and with a nice evil undertone. Nice and chaotic. Fitting the characters. From all these pony songs ,this is easily one of the best.

I'm still trying to confirm the legitimacy of the e-mail screenshot (for peace of mind) but it sounds like something the writers would say.

Because I'm the kind of person who can enjoy things regardless of quality. It's a very good feeling knowing this sort of stuff can inspire others to actually do something. It doesn't matter who does it or how they do it, as long as they get it done is all that matters to me. Given what he has to work with it was probably the best he could manage, and I can appreciate that. Not everypony can be a Mozart in the making.
Glad you like it. :) I think it's mostly that I have a voice that just happens to have a similar timbre to John DeLancie's, but I also tend to have a good ear for detail and some talent for imitation. I just listened to Discord's lines, and practiced sounding like him as best I could.

I was actually watching Phantom of the Opera for the first time today and when the song Phantom of the Opera came on I thought "Hey, this sounds familiar.. *scratches head*" Then I went back here and it made SO MUCH SENSE.
It did make it to Equestria Daily, along with the music box version. The PMV just has the edge in the fact that it has visuals.
Awesome! I was once thinking about putting this video up as a video response to your song due to that connection but it's so vague that it would probably go over some ponies' heads.
It just sounds SO phantom of the opera, and I love that.
I was originally intending this to be a musical but I think I'll only be able to make one or two more songs along this idea. And there are a number of fanfics inspired by this song but you'll have to find those on your own.

Holy Shite! Discord actually sounds like a possible voice actor for Discord's singing parts! I like the fact Screwball sounds like a little filly.
Lanovran's vocals are pretty spot on.
The chords and his voice reminded me a bit of "The Phantom of the Opera" where he has the duett with his "angel of music", and in my book that is a good thing.
The way season 2 starts,it makes Discord seem like a heartless troll.This songs shows something different,a strange kindness that is unfortunately tainted by madness.Theres just something so beautiful about how the love between a parent and their child can even survive through insanity, and it's tragic to realize that in the end, discord and his daughter cant be together because of the very madness that makes them so close. Im reading into this too much arent I? I'll stop now...
Ow man... I don't know how I missed this, but it is crazy awesome. I love everything about it. The lyrics, the vocals, the music. And the PMV MadameLeFlour made has my vote for best PMV for March. I wish I could vote best music, too.

Because I'm the kind of person who can enjoy things regardless of quality. It's a very good feeling knowing this sort of stuff can inspire others to actually do something. It doesn't matter who does it or how they do it, as long as they get it done is all that matters to me. Given what he has to work with it was probably the best he could manage, and I can appreciate that. Not everypony can be a Mozart in the making.

Glad you like it. :) I think it's mostly that I have a voice that just happens to have a similar timbre to John DeLancie's, but I also tend to have a good ear for detail and some talent for imitation. I just listened to Discord's lines, and practiced sounding like him as best I could.
