I will definitely compare it with the U6 LR and the U6 Pro since I tested these devices before, but did not have the chance to use the U6 Enterprise unfortunately.
Hey there. Thank you for this tear down! I wrote to Ubiquiti regarding the fan: The fan should blow the "hot" air out... so it works like a blower fan. Now from what i see in this teardown, there is no way for the fresh air in or? Dust accumulation should therefore be minimal.
Thank you for the additional research into the fan. And honestly I hope that dust will not accumulate because you do not want to have to open up this AP.
@@shortygfx hmm... air has to get in somewhere right? How else is is going to go out? If there is no intake the air will go backwards through the fan or it would create a vacuum in there.
@@magnuserlandsson1327 hey! Well from the teardown i dont see any air intake. I think the point here is simply to push the hot air out. The only air intake would be on the top, where the led is positioned, but i could not see in this teardown if there is actually any gap for letting the air in.
I haven't yet tested it enough to be 100% sure (a proper review is in the works), but I can tell you that there are times when I hear the fan and other times when I don't. The conclusion seems to be that in the worse case scenario, it does adjust the rpm according to the load.
Oh, I am sure there was a better way to open this type of devices. Which is why Ubiquiti should just use screws and silicone seals for water resistance, so that at least one idiot (myself) can easily access the inside of the AP.
Very expensive WAP with Tri-Bands, each only being 2x2 and such tiny little antennas, wasted potential. Certainly a contender for antennas to be removed and connectorised.
You should check out the price of the EnGenius WiFi 7 APs... I will test the Zyxel NWA130BE soon and it seems to be closer in price to the U7 Pro. Hopefully, it will be better.

@@SamBondorwell if fan can blow only out and there are no intake holes / places for the fresh air, i think that dust will not be a problem.

I did not know about the fan before. It might actually be a deal breaker. Are there fans in any of the U6 versions?
I have opened both the U6-LR and the U6 Pro and neither had a fan, so I assume that the Enterprise version is fanless as well.

I didn't hear any fan noise. Mine might have had a defect fan.
I have 2 of them hanging outside in the rain and they work fine till now. The air opening is on the bottom so no water can get in
i suggest investing in a heat gun, it will help soften the glue so you don''t damage the AP when opening it!
I agree and will get one as soon as the budget gets higher which will take quite a while.

You open it wrong. Take a Stanley knife and expose the blade about 2mm. then go around once and it's open.
