The finish on the Trident looks like it's already had a beer spilled on it. That ensures it stays looking fresh!

My bandmate uses one. He's not very technical and asked me for a suggestion and I thought this would be easiest for him. His tones are superb. I'm using an FM9 and I don't think his tone is lacking in the least bit in comparison.

I considered getting the Trident. In the end I spent a little more for the Hotone Ampero 2 Stage

I'm very impressed by NUX. I just played an open air set at festival using an MG-30 and it sounded great running through the PA. It's a really solid piece of kit too - pretty amazing for the price. True, it could have a more robust power supply, but it runs fine off a rechargeable battery block when you can't find a mains socket.

been considering the MG-30. I own other NUX pedals and have been happy with them but never tried a modeler from them, and was just concerned a bit about the user interface which many times is what's lacking on more budget modelers. How easy is it to use direct in to computer? i have an audio interface but was thinking of using the MG-30 as a portable, lightweight, all-in-one with my laptop.

@@1980JPA Hi there. I've found navigation OK, but I've always edited sounds via the desktop app. I haven't tried using the MG-30 direct into a DAW yet - I've taken the left and rights outs into my interface. I'll give that a try this weekend and get back to you.

@@rowbags3017 thanks so much for sharing your experience with it. Since reading your comment I went back and combed through the spec and watched more reviews and demos of it. I think I'm going to grab it. I like the look of the software. If you come up with anything weird about going straight into a daw please let me know.

@@1980JPA Hi again. I've just tried it as an interface and I got mixed results (I'm using Windows). It was fine going into Audacity, but Studio One didn't recognise it. It's probably me doing something wrong, but it's not appearing among the list of devices at the moment, so I need to dig a bit deeper to try to get Studio One to see it.

Bought one, not bad but playing around with the routing, ie direct//amp front/amp rear, I think my Boss Katana and Fender Hotrod sound way better without the fizziness of the NUX, and with just a couple of pedals. The Boss Katana is a better overall purchase and has all the effects you will ever need.

What i like about the Nux trident and Mg30 is for me they have a good factory presets that i can play without editing or making presets of my own…

I have been using nux mg30 for 3yr and with V.5 firmware I think this is the best for live. You can change amp type in scene mode

Trying to escape a pedal board that weighed more than my amp, I used a Cerberus for a year, it was great but what it lacked was a large pool of preset creators. Then I discovered one John Nathan Cordy, I switched to a HX Stomp XL and never looked back. I’m still learning to fly the Stomp but a year and a half in with many gigs, it has served me well. Thank you John.

Nux is very competitive with most of their products. It’s another case of ignore the brand names, there are great alternatives. I still have the Timecore pedal and others. Some of the Pedals are the Verdigo series, and their support is second to none.
I wonder how well the Trident takes pedals?

    Thats a knife! I’m not disagreeing with you….evvveeer! 😂
Anyway been wondering about the Trident. I have two Cerberus’ one as a spare, and love it as a no amp rig. Also good for fly gigs.
Works well with external pedals too. The Trident has some very mixed reviews but I like everything i’ve heard sound wise. Are you going deeper into it? Another vid maybe?
There is a new software update out V2 supposed to be good. I’m tempted but the drive section has me concerned, as the Cerberus has everything on show.
Clever stuff though from NUX…..And yourself of course, as always.

  •  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

It's a pity that they didn't keep the analog saturation chain of the Cerberus, because the format is what the Cerberus needed, but not the change to full digital.

How about tap tempo? Did they remove it? Or hopefully not totally, and can be access through external footswitch and midi. And also hopefully exp. input support now volume pedal. As they remove it when they implement update on cerberus.

My concern with this was whether you could upload the Reverbs and Delays Nux uses on other pedals. Particularly the MG300 had a Wet Reverb that was pretty ethereal, looks like most of the ambient effects are there, so that's intriguing. The layout and form factor is really intuitive

$100 more than a Boss ME-90? I can't imagine that it sounds better. It certainly doesn't have nearly the effects options as the Boss.

I'm currently using a Tonex pedal in the loop of a Nux MG30, deleting the amp models and IR's, using the MG for eq, mod, delay and reverb. With an EP booster, tubescreamer, and OCD clone in front of the NuX. It's the most versatile rig I've used, with looper and drum patterns available at the touch of a foot switch . NuX makes good stuff, fairly inexpensive.I do miss my tube amp at times though.

Looks like it's a couple generations behind Line6 products. And with the name Nux, I'd kinda expect it to be cheaper... PC editor looks nice though, makes the L6 Edit software look a bit dated. Someone needs to make an editor where you can see and edit all settings at once though. Large screens exist and most people have them, yet nobody takes advantage of them. Sound quality though seems a bit short to me, again vs L6...

I bought an mg30 after seeing you demo one. Ive never needed a "better" unit. I send it in stereo ro two 2 x 12 amps, and that is my A side in an ABY. The B side is my Ckassic 50 tube amp with oedals. I create presets in the mg30 to compliment the overall sound and it just has bever gotten old playing those3 amps to get so many great sounds . The Trident looks great but redundant for me, i think. Nux seems to have really nailed down some great tones
