Hey guys, this was a good shop update. A lot of nice cars and many jobs to complete. Glad to hear you are keeping busy and look forward to more videos. Always appreciate original tools and shop manuals being used and being shown on your videos. And the original decor you use to furnish in your shop.

Those early 6 cylinder Chevy heads were prone to cracking in ordinary use so they are hard to find. It was late in the 30s before Chevrolet figured out how to cast heads so they would last. I'm a Chevy guy so I am not just tossing stones at the "other guys". I might have a repairable '32 head (in Missouri) if you get desperate. I probably have the kingpins, as well.
Also, the oil pump has been updated, When Chevy started using a gear type pump in '37 or possibly during production of the '36, they developed gear type replacement pump kits
for all of the previous 6 cylinder models. The giveaway is the oval screen. The original vane type pumps had round screens.
Don't tell my Chevy buddys, but I have 4 Model T Fords too.
I always enjoy your videos. Keep them coming. Love your shop. Mike

Factory service manuals are worth their weight in gold. I see so many people who own older cars who don't have the manuals for their car and they're struggling to fix them. Even finding a Motors manual of the appropriate age can help.

Glad to see your Lincoln Mk is getting closer to having all the major panel work done. Merry Christmas to both of you and your families. By golly I knew you guys would be starting in the strange antiques with all the knowledge you have stored in your noggin. Hope you can find a descent head for the old 6 cyl Chevy. That old commercial truck hopefully doesn't need any major parts as I would guess you would be fabricating them from scratch. Maybe you might find some new old stock for its Continental engine though.

I have to admit I never have heard of a ACME truck. That thing has some stories to tell. Also the rear tire looks like very agricultural purpose made. I'm amazed how the Chevy still had the original floormats? They look so nice and new, usually anything that vintage looks very trashed. You should both do more videos like these. You hardly see any 20-40s vehicles even for sale. They are going extinct fast.

You guys have made an incredible workshop there and are doing a bang up job. I ran into a TH-cam channel you might be interested in called Barry T's garage. There is a gentleman there who has been working on the same Ford engines you guys are working on since before you were a twinkle in your parents eyes. He has all kinds of helpful hints on flathead Fords you might be interested in. He is quite a character himself. Thanks for the great videos. I enjoy watching them. Happy Holidays to you and yours.

Merry Christmas guys, good to see a update. Those old Chevy 6's were well known for cracked heads. Might be a problem to find a replacement. Might try to have it welded. If done tight, they are good to go another few decades! I'm guessing that it was over heated and that will cause it. Dad would buy old cars from the airmen at the AFB where he worked. He found several old chevys with the 6, and most of them had either burned valves or a cracked head or both! We would pull the heads and raid the local parts yards for replacements. Not hard to work on and parts were cheap enough. The one that really burned my feelings, we rebuilt the head on a 54 Chev 2 ton. The cousins still had the milk delivery service and they had spent a ton on having a local shop give it a tune up and it never ran on all 6 after. Now their delivery routes were all around the Metro area and those trucks would be on the road 6 days a week and cover hundreds of miles daily. Finally parked it, and we got it. Fixed the head and valves right and it was sweet. had big plans for it as the farm truck. Brother was supposed to drain the cooling system in the start of cold weather, Went to get going in the spring and the side of the block was split open. The dummy drained the radiator but not the block! Related that dad only told him to do the radiator, never was too bright that one. He did the same with a tractor we restored back in the day. We were checking the antifreeze with a tester, I did several in one shed he did the others by the pasture. Sure as hell he let the thing freeze, I was livid, his excuse was that the coolant looked green enough so he didn't need to check it! Even though he should have known full well that he had added plenty of water over the summer, after that I never relied on his work, always checked things myself.

What do you guys do when you can’t get a new set of king pins because they are obsolete for my car ?
Wish you guys were a little closer sure would like to stop by the garage.
