To be fair Evil Ryu was never in Super and Violent Ken was never in a Street Fighter game just two crossovers and one of them wasn't even a fighting game.
I understand your sarcasm though, with Season 2 of SFV they stated that after Akuma the rest of the characters for the season were going to be new to the Street Fighter Universe and the first character was Kolin.
Kolin has been around for 20 years so the Japanese need to figure out what "new" actually means.
Had they said first time "playable" that would have been a different story.
Evil Ryu was in Alpha 2 and 3. Violent Ken in SVC: Chaos.
We need Pink Gold Chun-Li & Baby Guile next :P

Back in the SNES days when I was a kid there were some Nintendo artbooks/magazines for free at the local TV shop here. Just to advertise the new games and stuff. I had one in which all the Street Fighter II characters were introduced and I liked the stories and the comic style of all the characters. And now, about 25 years later this game just looks like in the magazine. Just wow, I think this should be the final and forever version.

It's exciting seeing Street Fighter 2 return, but when I heard of new characters I was hoping for something a bit more different than Evil Ryu and Violent Ken.
Perhaps someone from the Alpha series or Street Fighter 1 would've been a bit more interesting?

@@Redieux I haven’t played it. Many reviews are out though. Maximillian Dood enjoyed it as I recall. Had some criticisms but it’s been too long I don’t remember exactly what they were.

spend over 50 hours on the CvS2000 (JP version dreamcast) that was pretty good but this looked streamlined like... idk saw the slider. i needs this game now lol
You won't regret it. This could only be better if it was an updated Alpha III, but it looks fantastic either way.
Love the color changing feature for the fighters! might be a minor touch, but it's a nice touch. That soundtrack too!! I'll definitely be getting this day one.

Hey Nintendo, why are focusing on pushing this and ARMS for the switch when you still have a hugely popular competitive fighting game alive in Pokken that you are neglecting? The Pokken community raised 60,000$ for charity, the game sold 1.3 million copies, yet it doesn't even have characters out on the arcade version for 9 months already.
Where's the official support from you guys?

If they want to give it a switch port instead of just updating the WiiU version, then that's understandable, but then where is it? Why is Nintendo spending time porting Street Fighter 2, which is on every platform known to man by this point, instead of Pokken?
Pokken is going to be at the Pokemon World Championships in only a few months, yet the entire JP scene is going to have been playing on a different version of the game this whole time. How can you expect a competitive scene to stay alive when it's fractured between two entirely different versions of the games that don't have parity?

"hugely popular" is an immense exaggeration. Hate to break it to you but Pokken is nowhere near other esports or fighting games in terms of popularity.

This is basically an enhanced version of Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix for PS3/360 ... not sure if that one is backwards compatible on ps4 or ps5 though

I like this game so much that I bought the physical copy for Nintendo Switch and bought the digital download from the eShop a few months later. It's my favorite edition of Street Fighter 2 to play because the play-control is so refined. I like using the neon blue and neon green JoyCons together with the charging grip. I always play on original 16-bit graphics and sound. Konami should do a treatment like this for Mortal Kombat 2 but they probably won't because Konami is AWOL lately on retrogaming because they probably think they can make all of their money from Dance Dance Revolution.

Evil Ryu isn't new at all, sure for this version, but he isn't new in the slightest. Violent Ken on the other hand is, not counting his crossover Debut, but seriously, stop touting that. Just say something like 'Featuring Evil Ryu & all new character Violent Ken.' Seriously though, makes no sense.
