Hard to believe this trailer is one year old and the game is NEARLY the same age. This game was such a joy and I actually cant believe I was sitting there watching this one year ago. Happy birthday to that damn saxophone lol
Do think that maybe zelda have an important scena that we can use with Link! Will be amazing in the castle with Gannon. What do you think? Because she was close with the sword
This game launched when I was suffering extreme health issues and honestly wasn’t sure if I was going to survive 2023. I had pre-ordered this game so I would have something to look forwards to between hospital visits. Nearly one year later, I’m basically a brand new person with a second chance at life, and Tears of the Kingdom was with me the whole time. This game will forever remind me how lucky we all are to still be here today.
The best thing about Nintendo trailers is that they never exaggerate anything. What you see is exactly what you get. And all I'm seeing right here is perfection.
Absolutely. So underrated honestly. That understanding amongst fans, that what you see is what you get with Nintendo trailers, makes them and directs soooooo hype.
It’s been a year…..the Totk hype made feb (second trailer) march (gameplay demo) April (final trailer and TH-camrs playing early) may (release) June (beat the game) it makes me nostalgic for something that happened only a year ago!
I know. TOTK was what made me so happy and full of excitement in 2023. It was an amazing year for me whilst it lasted. Zelda hype had never been higher before !
How this soundtrack bridges the sparse themes of breath of the wild into the classic themes is so absolutely amazing. It really seems to emphasize BotW having been about letting go and impermanence and TotK being about rebuilding, restoration and renewal in my mind. I can’t remember the last time a trailer got me this excited about an upcoming game, this looks flat out mind blowing.
I remember the last time a trailer hyped me up so much but it won't be very original: the announcement trailer of Elden Ring. Seeing it again now that we know who the characters are makes it even more enjoyable these days.
BOTW also had a strong emphasis on solitude. Towns were sparse, most people you saw were alone in the wilderness and needed your help, and you NEVER fought with allies. You started on a plateau with only one other person you could even reach, and he was a ghost. The few divine beast segments were incredibly unique because you fought with an ally. Zelda's plotline was about being alone, trapped with a mindless beast. This game seems to be placing an emphasis on community. Hyrule Castle town is being rebuilt. Fort Hateno seems to be at least less of a graveyard than it was before. We fight with allies. It seems like there are allies everywhere, and it seems like reaching Zelda to get the tears will be integral (probably to get new abilities like ultrahand and stuff). You can assist in a battle between armies, this game is gonna literally do age of calamity but open world.
i love how the newer heroes like sidon and riju are playing a more important part in the story, it’s like a new generation of champions coming together
And how much link seems to interact with the people of Hyrule, from fighting with villagers to flying with what looks to be Teba's son, it feels much more alive and like the people actually are part of the land!
Guaranteed the stellar music in this trailer is not gonna end up in the final game, the same thing happened with the KILLER theme from the final trailer for BotW back in 2017. That track was so good it got its own arrangement in SSBU.
Seeing all the main characters fighting alongside Link is insane. The enormity of the threat to Hyrule feels so much greater than what happened in BoTW. I cannot wait to play this.
“Link, you are not alone” and then showing him fighting with others like makes me so happy because there are so many moments in BotW where it feels utterly lonely (which isn’t a bad thing but it was the first 3D Zelda without someone like Navi, King of Red Lions, Midna, or Fi). Seeing him fighting a *normal* enemy with Sidon makes me think we will have a lot more moments with other characters.
I feel like this is going to be BoTW’s foil. While BoTW focused on technology, isolation in nature, and regaining memories, this game seems to be focusing on magic and finding a new path with the regained memories and new allies.
As a father. My kids are 17, 12, and 9 now. My 17 year old games and Breath of The Wild was the game that became her medicine after her mother died a few years before the game came out. Seeing my 11 year old at the time, pick up a controller, turn on the Wii U and just find herself in a open world, and find that curiosity shine through her head is something you never forget. Breath of the Wild helped her figure out something in herself and let the grief of death go. It’s definitely hard to watch her go to college with Tears of The Kingdom on her side making her mom proud as she expands her world at Stanford.
Went to rewatch the trailer to show it to my cousin and now reading your comment. I wasn't expecting to get tears in my eyes. The fact that games can serve for other unintended ways, like make a person's life better in a special way... Just wow...
As corny as it may sound: the value Nintendo games offer the world can't be overstated. I have 2 grown girls myself. We've often struggled with poverty and addiction and sometimes all it took was a Nintendo game to help us make it through another day.
I agree, imma make all kinds of weird things with the fuse ability and attack enemies with them, and btw Haminations im subscribed, i loved your vid about the way your brother almost died 18 times, ivr almost died half those ways, the main one being cracking my head open
I already own the game and have put nearly 50 hours into it over the last 4 days since it came out. And yet I still find myself coming back to watch this incredible trailer in my free time
This game actually launched on the day where I had the worst panic attack of my entire life. My mental health was at an all time low and finally getting the game I had waited so many years for was the only thing I was happy about. When I finally got to my dad’s house, I was able to play the game with him watching. I just want to say this game might single-handedly be the reason I’m still here.
Crazy. I had a very similar story with Mario Odyssey. My anxiety and depression were out of control, had constant pressure headaches, and I spent most of my time playing the game because I could barely do anything else. Seeing Cappy turn into an actual captain's cap for Mario at Fossil Falls made me smile for the first time in a long time.
I don’t think I’ve ever watched a trailer this much in my life. It’s incredible. And what’s even crazier is the game LIVED UP TO IT. The wait was long but it was WELL worth it!
@@moldybanana279 Fr. I was blown away at some of the stuff in the game. Like, they only showed ONE out of context clip of the depths which made it seem like a cave or a dungeon, so we were totally unaware of its existence. First time I entered the depths I didn’t know what to do with myself I was so excited because of how MASSIVE it is 😂
@@Jay-Zech Yeah me too! The fact that Nintendo was able to keep that hidden is crazy. When I found the depths, my mind was completely blown. Phenomenal game.
@@Satanhohoho do you find it weird how some parts of the trailer have different exposition? because a certain scene is very different tp what i saw in the game
This trailer should go down in history as what a good trailer looks like. Everything in this is epic and even now after all the hype and after the ending of the game, I can still come back here and get teary eyed, goose bumps and still feel massive excitement over the building music. What a game. What an event to have lived through.
1:38, 2:18, 3:07, 3:12 - 3:20 Seeing Link finally getting more aid and being the heart of Hyrule helping others, and Hyrule’s citizen helping him in return to push back Ganondorf’s forces are heartwarming! This is going to be an amazing game, so much to explore, so much to figure out the diversity in our combat and weaponry!
Man us gamers are eating this year we got hi fi rush, toftk, Jedi survivor, Final Fantasy 16 and we have Spider-Man2,mk1 and payday 3 on the way, we just keep getting bangers this year
Same. Looking back, Spring/Summer 2023 was 10000% the best time of my life, this game made me so happy 😭(It still does, I still play atleast 2-3 times a week)
35 years playing this series, and the music still gets me everytime. It's like playing it again for the first time at my friend's house, and being blown away all over again.
The musical cues at 0:38 , 1:21 , 2:10 , 2:50 , 3:06 - are just absolutely AMAZING. Gets me so hyped, emotional, pumped up - everything. This game is going to be truly something special.
@@futuristix2510 it might be an Erhu - that was used for BoTW’s theme too. But it does sound different for TOTK. I’m not 100% sure. Someone else might know & tell us haha
This game gave me hope and happiness last year while I was recovering from cancer surgery. 2023 for sure could have been one the worst years of my life and TOTK was my safe place. I'll always be thankful to my brother who pre-ordered the game for me knowing I love the Zelda series so much. I played the game when I felt like the future was going to be full of pain and health issues, but now... I'm just so happy to say that a month ago doctors told me I'm healthy again and everything seems alright, things have changed and this trailer just makes me incredibly emotional. What an amazing franchise.
Wonderful!! I am so glad you recovered! I wish you all the best for the future and what an awesome brother you’ve got! Zelda Games got me through my darkest times in life as well and it will forever be in my heart. Have a good day!
RIGHT?? I was the biggest doubter and was afraid this would be major dlc.,,who prts of the game Nintendo kept quiet! Under promise, over deliver. Im awe struck!!!!!
I have the opposite feeling, much preferred BoTW by a longshot for myriad reasons. Seeing this trailer again that finally got me hyped just leaves me feeling melancholy now.
This was all I needed. No huge dialogue. No crazy transitions. Just scenes from the game, the amazing score and very emotional single lines. I’d put this as a top 3 Legend of Zelda trailer
Personally, I think this is the best Video Game Trailer, ever. 35 Years worth of musical references, call backs, returning characters, mysterious new ones, the return of the series’ Big Bad from over a decade, the operatic and cinematic style. It’s all the BOTW trailer had, and more. It’s just perfection.
Yeah I avoided most of the promotion leading up to the game, but I’m now watching them as I’m playing the game. If you’ll notice there’s some good gameplay ideas sprinkled throughout the trailer.
I just wish where the horse was drawing carriages that it would be bringing people to new homes being built by hudson construction and not just for the pony trotters or whatever they're called
This is random but I remember I was graduating on the night this game launched and I had recently went through a break up in a relationship of 5 years so this game was the only thing I was looking forward to. So as a Zelda fanatic she knew I was so exited for it.. so we get home that night and I remember seeing the game on my bed with a note that I still remember every word to. It literally said “I’m so proud of you and I’m the most proud mom to have you as my son. I’m sorry about what happened between you and Olivia but I know you really wanted this game and I know it will make you happy. I love you and remember to keep up the great work in life”. Thank you mom so much. It’s one of my favorite memories
LoZ main theme 0:37 BotW main theme 0:50 Hyrule castle main theme 1:08 Hyrule field main theme 2:32 in that new medley,Then again at 3:05 Ganondorf main theme 1:30 Then imo the best: A remix of ganondorfs theme at 2:49 And of course zeldas lullaby at 3:45
They definitely are a rare gem. I can't think of a single series that has had so many games over so many years, yet still continues to awe it's fans and outdo themselves each and every time! I haven't taken any work vacation in a long time so I think I'm gonna take the whole week after the 12th off just to be able to play this game!
@@ROCKonXLRhat’s exactly what I did! I have off from the 12th-24th of may. It’s on!! My TOTK oled is just sitting there waiting for me to put the game card in
I played 98 Ocarina of time with my mother. I couldn't read the textboxes because I was too young so we played the game together. She loved it! My mother passed away this year and Tears of the Kingdom will release on her birthday. What an awesome take of destiny it would be, if the story we startet together would end on her birthday in the year she died. Thanks for everything Mom❤ I will never forget the days we spend on Ocarina of time. The Zelda franchise is truly something else.
That's so sad I hope you finish and have fun time I hope that God with let you have a amazing life and childhood.May God bless your family and friends🙏
2:10 - 3:55 This part is absolutely a masterpiece, the saxophone, the action sequences, Ganondorf's return and finally a great classic remix of the theme of zelda with a great action scenes, MAN I LOVE NINTENDO'S DEDICATION TO ZELDA TEARS OF THE KINGDOM, I can wait for May 12 💖💖💖❤️❤️❤️❤️
I had a strange feeling after jumping from the Great Sky Island to Hyrule for the first time. Once i reached earth, after swiming... i felt like Home. Like i have returned home after a long, long trip. Incredible feeling.
Finally someone that understands what this game was made for. There are seriously people desperately trying to discredit the game because the exploration isn’t as good as breath of the wild, bloated clowns.
This SOUNDTRACK is so amazing, Nintendo NEVER misses with their OST’s, the amount of passion and care you can hear through their playing is absolutely phenomenal
3:06 when the trumpets come in here, the goosebumps turn into mountain ranges on my arms. Absolutely incredible. The OST on this trailer is better than entire game OSTs.
Over a year later, this trailer still makes me emotional. I’ll never forget the first day I watched it. I had low expectations. Then I watched it a second time. I was so hyped. Then a third time. I cried, because I was so excited that I would get to experience the beauty of Breath of the Wild all over again. I waited six long years for Tears of the Kingdom. All of my memories, excitement and love of Breath of the Wild flashed before my eyes.
Watching not just the other heroes but normal people fighting alongside Link was very exciting. The phrase "but you are not alone" has a true meaning this time.
The music in this trailer is just otherworldly. The reversed notes weaved in between melody, and the last beat drop especially gave me chills fr. As much as i look forward to the game, I really look forward to all the soundtracks that’ll be released with it.
Someone probably already said this, but the 3 piano notes at the very end of the trailer are the beginning notes of Zelda’s Lullaby - same key as the original too. Amazing.
Still shocked that this trailer is nearly a year old now... I remember I finished my first year of college and then a week later, this game came out and I didn't step outside for like a solid week because I was grinding this game with no guide. I also bought myself the OLED switch to go with it and I still don't regret it. I use it almost every single day and it reminds me to never give up and enjoy life because we will always end up going back and remembering the good times and smiling because they happened. I also had a previous comment on here saying that it would be the game of the year. Although it wasn't fully true, it was action-adventure game of the year which was still pretty much a given for the nominees. I am still just in awe that this game exists and what I've been through while playing. The Depths being an addition, going through the sky-islands, experiencing the grand world of Hyrule one more time, seeing freakin' PURAH, learning about the Zonai people, and seeing Ganondorf's new design and also his boss fight was so memorable. I love this game and if I ever have a kid, I would show them that this is how you make a sequel to an already great revamp to a legendary game series. God bless this amazing game for everything it did for me. Can't wait to see where Nintendo goes from here on Zelda games...
This was the most hyped I've been for a game EVER. I vividly remember waiting for this trailer to premiere in the middle of class. Then when the game was out I played the entire time in that same class for the rest of the week. Bring me back man. I can't even put into words how hype this was for me.
Ganondorf's reveal is one I cannot stop rewatching. The music composition is spectacular, and for the first time in 17 years, I feel like a Zelda game has a true, terrifying villain. Ganon's appearance in BotW was.. fine, nothing spectacular, but I am so beyond excited to finally come toe to toe with Ganondorf once again.
@@probenfetchak8076 I'm almost positive that's Demise. That model is gigantic and looks similar to Demise's model in Skyward Sword. It's DEFINITELY not Ganondorf though, I know that much. And considering the logo for the game is an ouroboros, I wouldn't be surprised if they're trying to tie in TotK to Skyward Sword and bring it to a close of some kind.
@@abyssalcrisis Agreed my hopes of the villains that we get to fight in this game are Demise, Ganondorf/Ganon as the second last boss of the game, Astor, the blights because I would like for them to make a return, Ghirahim, vaati, Zant, a corrupted Hylia battle where Ganon possesses her with his malice, king Dongo, Malladus, and calamity ganon to make a return as the very first boss of the game
This trailer continues to be my favourite game trailer ever. The music was epic. Spot on. Just.. hits the right feels. A year on and i can still watch this trailer and feel like it's the first time watching it. I need the OST..
Almost 150-hours of gameplay later: I just watched this again and got chills at all the same places as the first viewing. This was my GOTY and is my favorite game of all time.
I have played it over 550 hours now (damn, sometimes even I am shocked about these numbers, but I just can't get enough 🥹) and I agree! 💙 I'm 32, I've played a lot of great games since I was a kid. But this was the best gaming experience I ever had!
same i had to put my switch in the pawn shop due to financial issues and haven't played in 4 months and the entire time I'm literally dying to play it..
"You are not alone" got me a little bit teary. I remember the longer I play BOTW, the more lonely I felt, what link used to know was mostly gone or changed, this is almost if not at all a whole new world to him and the duty to save the princess was essentially on him. The journey itself was a lot of fun, but it was lonely at the same time. Glad to hear Link will have some companies in his next journey.
I'd love it if all the Champion Descendants travel along with you and you could choose who to go with you, like when we saw Sidon fighting with Link. BotW needn't some companions, was such a lonely game.
@@Medusa- I don't know the character but she sounds a lot like Melissa Hutchinson (Clementine from the Walking Dead, or Panette & Arval from Fire Emblem)
This was why I went out of my way to get Wolf Link amiibo. I wanted a companion on my journey even if it's a dog version of myself. I just needed a friend :(
I love how we regularly come back to this trailer because it's amazing, but also absolutely accurate. I'm both reliving the entire game experience AND the trailer first time chills.
I never really doubted that this game would hold me for another 100+ hours, but this just confirmed it. Seeing Ganondorf yelling took me back to my childhood, sooooo good.
@@ThisGuyDannyyy Haha I put maybe 200 hours into BOTW, but I can see why people put a thousand. It really was almost therapeutic to run around collecting Korok seeds.
This is probably the greatest trailer I've seen for anything in years, there's no trailer in recent history that made me smile like a child the whole way through and watch it multiple times a day. This game is going to surpass any and all expectations. The gameplay, the score, all of it just seems to perfect. No words are enough to describe this. Bless LoZ for years come.
@@Shadow497Knight Yes man, I thought the same. Climax after climax, when you thought the trailer would end, nope, there's more. Gonna have to watch this trailer every day until it releases.
@@jimmysampson9026 hey quick question can I get the older games on switch ? Much appreciated if you can help 👍 I think majoras mask is ment to be great ? Also I think I can get twilight sword ( not sure if that’s correct ) on switch can I not ?
The GREATEST game ever made with easily the most unique, inspiring, and most powerful sound track to a video game ever. This game will live on forever!!!!
The themes, music score, just...everything feels like a "this is it" moment for Zelda. Like this is where all those branching timelines have merged into this one grand adventure.
@@RetroDeath yes, all branching timelines. BOTW is where all 3 branching timelines meet just as Skyward Sword is where they all stem from. TOTK will be the bridge between BOTW and SS, tying everything together.
Most definitely a big one. It's also a reveal of the direction Aonuma always wanted it to be. This is now his vision of the game, and much less Miyamoto's. The whole style is a love letter to Studio Ghibli, and they are putting it forward as the new standard for Zelda entertainment for the coming decade or so, definitely a new bar set here. It's gonna be wild!
Not only is the music absolutely epic and makes you extremely hyped for when the game releases, but the fact that they brought back callbacks to previous Zelda games so fans of the series can have memories throughout the history of Zelda is what I definitely call fan service. Imagine when the game finally releases, and it will start feeling like a tribute to how Zelda once started back on the original Nintendo to how much it has grown on to becoming such a very huge phenomenon to so many players and fans alike. Honestly I am just still glad to see Zelda still a thing and will always forever be my favorite video game series the adventures of Link shall never die.
ya that was honestly my biggest complaint about breath of the wild and the reason I didn't finish it was like... because the world was so big it felt like less was going on, which was maybe more realistic, but this looks like it fixes those issues.
As good as this looks, it is worth noting that Breath of the Wild had a similar looking trailer where it showed all of the story moments and strongest character scenes. It made BOTW look a lot more story driven than it actually ended up being. That's not to say any of this is bad, getting to fight next to the allies is going to be awesome! But I would bet on it being a small portion of the game, with 90% of stuff being similar to BOTW.
This trailer is now 1 year old 😢 feels like yesterday I was hyping up about this trailer and not being able to sleep because I was so excited for this game. How time flys
I liked zelda as a kid but I never got super into it this one and botw did it for me and my son I've played a link to the past, Minish cap and ocarina of time which to be fair could have done it but as a adhd kid and how young I was when it was in my hands probaly wasn't the right time
I come back to this after 200 hours of playing this game and i have no words to describe the absolute happiness i had playing this game i felt like i was in another world this game is beyond comprehension in the scales of perfection, literally brings tears to my eyes.
Even after 10 months, when the original melody drops i get goosebumps and wet eyes, this may not have been the most inovating game ever but sure had some of the best trailers of zelda history
@@Estus.flaskk I do this as a hobby… I really wish the people that disagreed with me weren’t utterly stupid. I really do want a thought provoking argument where another person and I value the strengths and weaknesses of this game compared to others. But I have yet to find that person, they all turn out to be somewhat similar to you. You aren’t even the worst I’ve found, which is just pathetic.
I agree, the game had a constant sense of discovery through out the journey, and no other game(with the exception of botw) captures it. I liked doing a quest and hearing people read about in the news paper, I also enjoyed the story structure of main quest and side adventure having to do something about Zelda. Even though I liked it better, this does not replace botw to me, they feel and plays widely different. In botw your main goal is to get stronger and take out ganon, here I want to know about people of hyrule and feels like we are all joining our strength to save Zelda.
Came back to this trailer just to say this game is a 11 out of 10. Absolute masterpiece of a game, and I haven't even finished it yet. Not saying Breath of the Wild is bad, but this game just blows it out of the water in every way possible.
Breath of the Wild is Portal which developed the concepts and was a neat show of what they can do. Tears is Portal 2, they have the experience and deliver one of the best games ever and insta classic. A fully realized experience off the shoulders of Breath.
Who knew they would absolutely destroy all expectations and deliver such a monumental achievement in videogames. My God it's perfect. It's beautiful and perfect.
@@sirsheep8011 eh it runs alright but it does have some bad dips occasionally, I just wish it was 60 FPS but that's not the fault of the game, it's the fault of the console.
Right? TOTK is a rare case where expectations were incredibly high, but it still managed to exceed everything we hoped it would be. It's honestly incredible what they've managed to achieve with this game, just a shining example of how to make a sequel to a game loved by so many people already
@@sirsheep8011 right I’ve never had any of the performance issues with this game that so many have had, maybe because I have the OLED Switch, idk I dont get it
Oh yea that trailer was crazy, I loved it. Honestly I think thats Demise and not Ganondorf. Demise is the one who cursed the Sword the seals the Darkness in the early games.
Hats off to the composers for the music in this trailer. I didn't think it was possible but it's somehow even more epic than the 2017 Switch Presentation trailer for BotW. It calls back to classic Zelda themes to musical references of Breath of the Wild and even reworkings of earlier trailer themes for Tears of the Kingdom. Just a couple worth mentioning: 0:38 - The original Legend of Zelda opening title theme 0:50 - Theme from the original BotW trailer 1:07 - Hyrule Castle theme from ALttP 1:30 - Ganon's Tower from OoT 2:10 - The strange backwards sounding music from the 2019 teaser for TotK, now in epic orchestral form 3:05 - The Legend of Zelda Main Theme 3:44 - Zelda's Lullaby
@@MattRevs For real though. It honestly amazing cause I never would've expected them to turn what originally sounded like creepy backwards ambient music into a full blown thematic Zelda motif yet here we are. Saxophone is definitely the most interesting instrumental addition in the soundtrack so far.
I was moved to tears at the 1:43 mark. The first sound I heard associated with the Zelda series was Epona's neigh at the beginning of the Twilight Princess opening trailer. It made me realize how far the game has come since then.
This game came out the day before my wedding, and joined us on our honeymoon. Months later I still look back to this game as a reminder of the best week of my life. This game will always hold a special place in our hearts
I dunno. This looks like just more of the same, but with better dungeon concepts. Plus, did I see a Banjo Kazooie Nuts & Bolts mechanic in the game? Ugh...
THE MUSIC starting at 2:10 is just incredible. The composition of jazz instruments with classical, the mixture of western and eastern tones, and reversed audio sound clips being incorporated alongside the vocals for this ethereal feel. All to the leitmotif of the Zelda themes while being edited in time with the video? That's a good trailer right there. You got me Nintendo. I am hyped.

What's the theme at 1:10 please ?
The composer deserves so much praise. That saxophone is incredible.
I am half convinced the sax player is InsaneInTheRain but he's not allowed to tell us it's him yet.
Saxophone assist makes the song even better
Because I am Japanese, I might not be able to translate well
The little motifs too, especially that cheeky little Zelda’s lullaby at the very end lol
It's a kazoo.
It sounded like a soprano sax

Came back to celebrate this masterpiece 1 year later.
i love how the newer heroes like sidon and riju are playing a more important part in the story, it’s like a new generation of champions coming together
Gotta mix in the new with the old. I for one am freakin' hyped for this.
im gonna lose my mind (in a good way) if they end up becoming the new generation of sages like just imagine how badass that would be!
It feels like a natural extension and consequence of the events of the previous game, it's great! And something Zelda hasn't really done before.
And how much link seems to interact with the people of Hyrule, from fighting with villagers to flying with what looks to be Teba's son, it feels much more alive and like the people actually are part of the land!
Ganondorf summons a giant demon form and the new champions and link combine the divine beasts into a giant robot to fight him, that’s what I want most
Give the composers all the love and the recognition they deserve. The work they did on this ost is outstanding
Is everyone going to ignore that this trailer is going to be #1 on Trending later today? I’m predicting the future
using the motifs perfectly. i like it more than the botw1 presentation score, and that piece is top tier
Guaranteed the stellar music in this trailer is not gonna end up in the final game, the same thing happened with the KILLER theme from the final trailer for BotW back in 2017. That track was so good it got its own arrangement in SSBU.
@@ThisGuyDannyyy obviously
the rock band saxophone is a little weird
Seeing all the main characters fighting alongside Link is insane. The enormity of the threat to Hyrule feels so much greater than what happened in BoTW. I cannot wait to play this.
Almost as enormous as the threats we are facing in this sad real world of ours.
@@PedrinhoCruzeirense Real, Sad , and concerning
Yes!! Almost makes botw feel like a prequel to this- like this is the main event
I had the same sentiment, but you said it WAYYYYYYY better! Lol!
Because the war already happened in BOTW, 100 years prior. The game was post-apocalyptic while the threat is very current in this game.
happy anniversary to all who celebrate
“Link, you are not alone” and then showing him fighting with others like makes me so happy because there are so many moments in BotW where it feels utterly lonely (which isn’t a bad thing but it was the first 3D Zelda without someone like Navi, King of Red Lions, Midna, or Fi). Seeing him fighting a *normal* enemy with Sidon makes me think we will have a lot more moments with other characters.
It looks like it will be online!
It really looks line Hyrule Warriors
I feel like this is going to be BoTW’s foil. While BoTW focused on technology, isolation in nature, and regaining memories, this game seems to be focusing on magic and finding a new path with the regained memories and new allies.
This was absolutely inspired by Hyrule Warriors.
@@Mirage475 i mean age of calamity is technically a hyrule warriors game lol so

My kids are 17, 12, and 9 now. My 17 year old games and Breath of The Wild was the game that became her medicine after her mother died a few years before the game came out. Seeing my 11 year old at the time, pick up a controller, turn on the Wii U and just find herself in a open world, and find that curiosity shine through her head is something you never forget. Breath of the Wild helped her figure out something in herself and let the grief of death go. As corny as it may sound: the value Nintendo games offer the world can't be overstated. I have 2 grown girls myself. We've often struggled with poverty and addiction and sometimes all it took was a Nintendo game to help us make it through another day.
Speaking from the perspective from a 17 year old myself, this game helped me through some tipping times as well, as I wish the best for your children!

The beginning sounded like Zelda's lullaby too
There are a lot of leitmotifs in this one trailer. Was one of my favorite things in BotW as well.

@@taylordakoda67 I hope your financial situation will get better soon - not only for the game but also for your life! 🙏🏻
Best game ever made
"You are not alone" got me a little bit teary.
But who said this? It doesn’t sound like Zelda, or Riju. Is it the woman with long ears & long blonde hair at 3:09?
I'd love it if all the Champion Descendants travel along with you and you could choose who to go with you, like when we saw Sidon fighting with Link. BotW needn't some companions, was such a lonely game.
@@Medusa- I don't know the character but she sounds a lot like Melissa Hutchinson (Clementine from the Walking Dead, or Panette & Arval from Fire Emblem)
This was why I went out of my way to get Wolf Link amiibo. I wanted a companion on my journey even if it's a dog version of myself. I just needed a friend :(
Remember always keep this guide book if you’re going alone.
This video will be #1 on Trending

@@ThisGuyDannyyy exactly
@@ThisGuyDannyyy Haha I put maybe 200 hours into BOTW, but I can see why people put a thousand. It really was almost therapeutic to run around collecting Korok seeds.
Its been almost 3 months and I still shed tears at the crescendo... This game is a masterpiece
true best game of all time
Yes it is
frrerrr
When the title sequence hit me in the intro, I knew I was about to play the greatest game ever made.
@@loganvest367 that moment hit me in the opening cutscene, when Ganondorf breaks all of Link’s hard-earned hearts… such an awesome moment
I've probably watched this 90 times already. I'm glad Aonuma got his wish. The skydiving looks incredible. Everything looks incredible.
What was his wish
@KiteSimpsForJuniper I think it was "say nothing about the game until the last minute"
@@Minarreal he wanted to do a sequel in the same world as botw
Ya 720p 30fps medium settings looks incredible. LOL 🤡
I wasn’t happy about the platforms in the air until I saw the skydiving just now. This looks incredible!
This trailer is insane, I always get goosebumps, the 3rd trailer is the charm
This hit me right in the heart container.
Plus it just kept getting better and better as it went on
@@Shadow497Knight Yes man, I thought the same. Climax after climax, when you thought the trailer would end, nope, there's more. Gonna have to watch this trailer every day until it releases.
Same dude!! Literally cheesing like I’m 10 about to play twilight princess for the first time!!
This is awesome but the original trailer for Breath of the Wild is still the best though.
@@jimmysampson9026 hey quick question can I get the older games on switch ? Like I played ocarina of time when I was a kid and that got me into loving Zelda but have never played anything else except botw and can wait for totk but want to play some of the older ones too so where can I play them and which are best ? Much appreciated if you can help 👍 I think majoras mask is ment to be great ? Also I think I can get twilight sword ( not sure if that’s correct ) on switch can I not ?
The transition of the score while link is diving is just heavenly. Sooooo many feelings. A hero from the heavens reference.
No, not all branching timelines, just the sequel to BotW.
I agree, this feels like a pivotal point, like even if it’s not, it feels like everything has been adding up to this
Dont get to ahead of yourself my man
@@RetroDeath yes, all branching timelines.
Yeah when it shows the title of the game it plays a remix of the Twilight princess main theme
@HaydenD97 actually, that part is even older than TP. It is referencing the title theme for the original Legend of Zelda.
I agree
Same feelings… this is the best time again.
Agreed sgxvdby
This still hits almost a year later. Nintendo really cooked with not only this trailer, but with this game
Can’t wait to hear this legendary music played by the Game Awards orchestra when this masterpiece wins the GOTY.😭
Me too

🎷🎷🎷
GOTY belongs to starfield bud (not saying totk is bad ofc)
@@charlesmeniru5082 if you really think so you haven’t seen the latest trailer
As incredible as BOTW is, this feels so much more…alive. It’s breathtaking. I haven’t been this excited for a new game in many years.
Ya. Literally a breathtaking adventure. Again!! More intense than the previous one!!
My exact thoughts!!
ya that was honestly my biggest complaint about breath of the wild and the reason I didn't finish it was like... because the world was so big it felt like less was going on, which was maybe more realistic, but this looks like it fixes those issues.
Well then...... 500 hours+ ?
With each trailer I can feel my jaw dropping lower and lower to the floor, what an amazing time to be a Zelda fan. 29 days left.
Years in the making
same with the jaw dropping experience. Hyped too, can't wait. infinite stuff to find.
Why did I read the 29 days as a threat 😭😭 I must’ve thought i was majoras mask or something
6 years during development for this game but its worth the wait.
This trailer is now 1 year old 😢 feels like yesterday I was hyping up about this trailer and not being able to sleep because I was so excited for this game. How time flys
honestly i miss it so god damn bad
Its rare a franchise can keep you excited for 20 years but to make you more excited with each generation is unheard of
Man this franchise has kept excited for 30 years!
It’s coming up on 40 years. 1986
37 years**
I liked zelda as a kid but I never got super into it this one and botw did it for me and my son I've played a link to the past, Minish cap and ocarina of time which to be fair could have done it but as a adhd kid and how young I was when it was in my hands probaly wasn't the right time
28 years for me.
This entire trailer is spectacular, but the music from 2:10-2:42 especially gives me chills. Such a beautiful trailer
That saxophone is tearing it up!
You could say the saxophone is “tearing the kingdom”. I need sleep.
Epic Sax Man: "… it's something only I can do."
The sax goes hard 🥶🥶
Indeed. To me it has a spectacular 90s vibe. 🎷😎
I come back to this after 200 hours of playing this game and i have no words to describe the absolute happiness i had playing this game i felt like i was in another world this game is beyond comprehension in the scales of perfection, literally brings tears to my eyes.
Do you know if this song plays anywhere in the game?
@@8bitWave unfortunately i dont think it does

@bazzbj yeah and you got a bad opinion
@bazzbj probably because you think roblox is the best game which it isnt
Even after 10 months, when the original melody drops i get goosebumps and wet eyes, this may not have been the most inovating game ever but sure had some of the best trailers of zelda history
Even though this game didn't win goty, it doesn't change how much of a masterpiece this game is. For me, this is the game of the decade so far.

I really wish the people that disagreed with me weren’t utterly stupid.
Yes, I just wish its dungeons were a bit better. Still 11/10 though
Breath of the wild was possibly my favourite game, and TOTK makes it look like a tech demo. It’s amazing 12/10
BotW isn't the best game ever made anymore
@@FluffyMustache yeah the wind arc dungeon was pretty easy... fun, but easy
It's beautiful and perfect.
performance only setback i wish i could play this on a current gen nintendo console
@@adamc4640 you have performance issues? mine is perfectly fine.
@@sirsheep8011 right I’ve never had any of the performance issues with this game that so many have had, maybe because I have the OLED Switch, idk I dont get it
Still playing this masterpiece! Not even 50% complete!
When Ganondorf said.
"Do not look away, you witness the Game of The Year's revival."
It hit hard.
I just know someone is gonna get pissed at you for this comment XD
Jokes aside. Tears of the kingdom be looking excellent
More like game of the decade.
Oh yea that trailer was crazy, I loved it. Honestly I think thats Demise and not Ganondorf. Demise is the one who cursed the Sword the seals the Darkness in the early games.
i hope your okay. 🐕
Game of the Century* or at least until botw 3: the breath at its wildest
My jaw hit the ground when the sax explodes into the OST at 2:10 I seriously can’t wait for this game!
2:17
I was literally crying at this point!
Just a couple worth mentioning:
0:38 - The original Legend of Zelda opening title theme
0:50 - Theme from the original BotW trailer
1:07 - Hyrule Castle theme from ALttP
1:30 - Ganon's Tower from OoT
2:10 - The strange backwards sounding music from the 2019 teaser for TotK, now in epic orchestral form
3:05 - The Legend of Zelda Main Theme
3:44 - Zelda's Lullaby
2:10 addition of the saxophone is the absolute best
2:10 Sax brass and jazz makes any song brilliant.
@@MattRevs For real though. It honestly amazing cause I never would've expected them to turn what originally sounded like creepy backwards ambient music into a full blown thematic Zelda motif yet here we are. Saxophone is definitely the most interesting instrumental addition in the soundtrack so far.
Furthermore you may notice that the first 3 or 4 notes of the soundtrack recall the theme of the lord of the rings
I might be reaching a bit, but 1:21 sounds a lot like Twilight Princess's hyrule field leitmotif as well!
This game will always hold a special place in our hearts

the botw trailer make me genuili cry
I dunno. This looks like just more of the same, but with better dungeon concepts. Plus, did I see a Banjo Kazooie Nuts & Bolts mechanic in the game? Ugh...
@@Mortified42 some people cannot be sastified lol
THE MUSIC starting at 2:10 is just incredible. The composition of jazz instruments with classical, the mixture of western and eastern tones, and reversed audio sound clips being incorporated alongside the vocals for this ethereal feel. All to the leitmotif of the Zelda themes while being edited in time with the video? That's a good trailer right there. You got me Nintendo. I am hyped.
They did such a good job with the editing too. It made you really take in every aspect of this trailer.
the vocals makes me think of the Nier Otomata ost
Came for this comment. This combination between choir and a Suona(?)/sax(?) was the best thing I've heard IN YEARS!
