  • Fyr Bistronomi is a casual Nordic bistro serving high-quality food at affordable prices, taking its name from the French "bistronomy" movement. Head chef Sebastian Myhre has a background from restaurants like the three-Michelin-starred Per Se in New York. Myhre also opened his fine dining restaurant Stallen next door, which exclusively serves a set tasting menu. At his more casual bistro, however, there are two menus - inside you’ll find the bistronomy-focused menu, and outside you’ll find the park menu, with simpler dishes to enjoy in the sunshine. All of the dishes are made with local produce, a lot of it grown by the chefs themselves, and most are cooked over the fire.

    These videos have become like a knife to my heart. You guys in Europe have mostly dealt competently and quickly with this virus and our president has asked us to accept a giant pile of shit as a response to something that has killed nearly 130,000 of us.
    I miss what cooking used to be before this virus. And I am happy to see you supporting my brethren. Thank you. Stay safe.

      I hope her family stays safe and I cannot thank you guys enough for your support of our industry. A lot of cooks and chefs feel like our profession is a large family and I am very serious when I say people I have never and will never meet are my brethren, sisters, family.
      Those of you that refuse to eat at corporate chains and support small restaurants, you keep alive the greatest profession in the history of man and I thank all of you for it. And I thank you two especially.

    A rally interesting restaurant ,I don't know how you ate all that food ,servings very generous ,well executed and presentation simplified but elegant a true "Bistro" ,the perfect spot for a wonderful meal without the formality ,how was the wine list or was it a beer list ? By the way the extra touches were very informative

    • @andersandkaitlin
      @andersandkaitlin  ปีที่แล้ว

      We didn't really explore the wine list so much for this lunch.

    Awesome job as always! Dig the concept of an indoor and outdoor menu but featuring much of the same ingredients. Very much about the experience each provides I would guess?

    Hermosos y suculentos platos! No sé si un día pueda ir a Noruega y probar estas delicias, me encantaria...mientras tanto el chef me inspiró a intentarlo en casa. Gracias por compartir su arte. ¡Saludos desde México! 👧💜

    I think I walked past when you did the interview outside Stallen!
    And I agree that Fyr is the best outdoor restaurant in Oslo, luck to have it as our nabolagsrestaurant now Publiko is gone.

    Desert in a flower pot - how old is that idea? 5, no more than 10 years. Don't mention the rest of the menu. Very unoriginal restaurant. It's nice and clean, that's all. Ceviche = lax with salad? Really? Pufff....
    The video is great as always though... Thank you for your work. It's very good to see it on video than being disappointed for yourself in real life. Thanks! 😊

      He never claimed to have invented either of the dishes, they are both age-old and well-known. They are simply doing fun versions of classics, what's wrong with that? ;)

    • @Eeppoonn
      @Eeppoonn 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@andersandkaitlin Nothing. Nice restaurant. But imho it doesn't worth any special attention. Anyway, what are the videos for if not for comments? Aren't you bored to read "it's great" or "how nice" all the time? And by the way I am very familiar with scandinavians and I spend nearly every summer in Danmark, and they donn't choose their word when expressing their opinion on things. You have to be used to that. 😊
