I've been in the sign and graphics industry for 20 plus years. Standard commercial vehicles (Ford Transit, Econo van f150 etc) are kind of a pain to apply graphics and wraps. Especially with the variations in length and when the contours change slightly between model years. It is tough to make a fleet look consistent (unless you are UPS or Amazon). This thing is going to be a godsend to us in the sign shops. Not only to design and apply graphics to. But to have as service and install vans for ourselves. Amazing! Can't wait.
The E-Series and Transit vans are incredibly easy to design and wrap. We’ve done hundreds of fleets while maintaining a consistent look. E-series only had issues with some vans having barn doors, some windows on the side door, some with windows on the back. Our Transit customers practically all get the medium roof or extended roof and rarely opt for the windows. Super easy vans and very consistent. The Canoo is likely going to have all the same issues with variations and likely more customizations, particularly on the passenger side. Still.. i’m waiting on my pre-order… can’t wait to have this unusual looking van for the shop.
@Itchy Nguni How is it a waste of money? A similar cargo van like the Mercedes Sprinter starts at 36K. A Ram Promaster starts at 34k. These vans are targeted towards audience who need to move large quantities of stuff. Amazon placed an order to purchase these vans. These are priced really well.

For example I have 465 stops on my route and we MUST be back by 1800 to put the outgoing mail on the truck or we are written up. Worst case scenario is having to drive the mail hours away to the plant ourselves. Other than that, this is lovely. This is an actual WORKING VEHICLE. With existing tech. No need to create something that's not really proven and it is cost effective as suppose to the Scam Nicola.
@@Chastity_Belt it's not hard to build a working prototype, not much difference from a kids electric car you buy from amazon for 249 plus shipping from china. Building a real car is not that easy, ask tesla a multi billion dollar company how hard to symmetry parting lines on both side of the their cars.
The adventure model looks cool. I wonder how competent this is off road though, would need a solar panel roof for that kind of set up or some kind of generator so you don’t risk getting stuck
So I have some questions. The 33k for a starting price does seem reasonable. But what is that equate to? The MPDV1 looks to be the main competitor to a standard cargo van. So take the Chevy Express 1500 cargo van for comparison. (I took this one because it is most likely the more popular cargo van for the "everyday guy" being the most common one I see on the roads) -Base model price of the Chevy is 30.8k -The total cargo value of the Chevy is 50ft3 less in looking at both with/without counting the driver cabin space (but the numbers you are reporting do not add up as the mpdv1 is not as tall and narrower by a few inches as well as over 50 inches shorter in length so something isn't quite adding up there. Even comparing the MPDV2 measurements simply don't add up either) -The mileage of the MPDV1 is 130mi (EPA) on the base model with the smallest battery and that is laughable when the base model v6 Chevy van can get 400-420 miles per tank average with 14mpg (EPA) -The cargo payload of the Chevy is over 1500 lbs more and the towing capacity I can assume will be way higher as nothing is listed on your website in regards to towing. -Build quality: How far along is that model shown in this video? Is this a representation of a final product? Because at the 4:00 mark, you open that front panel and it that thing looks like it will be broken off in a week using it every day multiple times per day. And that is assuming your base model of the MPDV1 with the smallest battery on your official full specs page because I think it is fair to assume that the starting price of 33k will be your smallest battery in your smallest vehicle. Now all in all, that may not seem bad. In terms of stats here, they are not too terribly far off for an EV alternative. But where it starts to really show to be the worse option by far is when you think of its purpose. With the base model, you are really looking at one option: a simple van delivery/transport service. And the payload and mileage simply will not cut it unless you have a charging system that can 0 - 100% charge in 20 minutes tops to compete with a gas pump. And even then, you will have to stop charge 3 times (almost 4) before the ole gasser will need to hit the pump once. And in that case, time is literally costing you money at that point. So the main question is this... what makes me, someone who owns a business that greatly benefits from having a delivery style of vehicle, want to pick something like this over an already established brand/model? When looking at some of those optional build outs you have for the cafe, merchandise sales, flowers, cargo, and grocery options, they look really amazing and I would definitely be able to use some of the options there to make life easier and more organized. But I have priced out and had it built a custom cargo interior to 100% of my own specs and needs to be fabricated up for my business and that will run me around $9k (on top of the price of the new van which I paid 27k for a 2020 model). How much money are some of those options and buildouts and how much will that comparable $9k get me in terms of upgraded battery and build configurations? Now don't take this comment as me talking trash on your business. I absolutely LOVE the way you laid these trucks out and think they look fantastic and the functionality with the different configurations looks like some real dreams are coming to reality. But I am just having a hard time seeing the full picture of it being built for the "everyday person" when you can buy something already established and spending a little extra to get it outfitted the way you want and have a better experience. In short, we just need more information and i feel like releasing the price of the base model and making it such a noticeable selling point in this video and releasing the full specs without the buildout options, specs, and pricing is not making it seem like a great deal for the EV.
@@Robrulesall2 if it is actually 33k i bet that will be for the most basic stripped down model that's not any better than a second hand van from another company. I bet any of the specialized extra stuff they showed in this video will put the cost significantly higher

Exactly. As fantastic as this concept seems, and as ambitious as it is, that box they showed the two guys getting out of is plainly just a prop.
Exit scam! Only this time with government funding
Even if this first iteration isn't perfect, they are on the right path and going in the right direction, all they have to do is just keep going! I will be your cheerleader!! BRAVO!!! YIPPEE, HURRAY!! The future is here NOW! Thanks CANOO! ( from a big fan, 'A happy-scrappy sew and sew')
The Next and Latest Nikola Vaporware company
Oh, at least this guys have a working prototypes, not a mock-ups.
This is an actual WORKING VEHICLE. With existing tech. No need to create something that's not really proven and it is cost effective as suppose to the Scam Nicola.
Yeah... whose invested in this, aside from the suckers giving them interest free loans.
@@Chastity_Belt it's not hard to build a working prototype, not much difference from a kids electric car you buy from amazon for 249 plus shipping from china. Building a real car is not that easy, ask tesla a multi billion dollar company how hard to symmetry parting lines on both side of the their cars.
No dude, this is legit.
I like the versatility of this platform. It's crazy
I was waiting for Shaggy and Scooby to make an appearance.
You could get it wrapped in a Mystery Machine style super easily since theres not a lot of conturing lines.
Please please! An exciting concept that needs to be successful. I sincerely hope a miracle happens and production can begin on their entire line.
The adventure model looks cool. I wonder how competent this is off road though, would need a solar panel roof for that kind of set up or some kind of generator so you don’t risk getting stuck
I'm guessing not very good, for one it doesn't have much ground clearance and 2nd 19 in rims are no good for offroading.
THAT adventure truck tho!!!! Omg that looked awesome
Canoo going to the moon, $GOEV
Grip truck of my DREAMS.
🥳🥳
should I get my popcorn
Loving all these new vehicle projects coming from small companies.
Much luck with the project, team!
Can’t wait to live in that van 😂😂
These could take van living to a new level but you gotta find that charging station
So I have some questions. The 33k for a starting price does seem reasonable. But what is that equate to? The MPDV1 looks to be the main competitor to a standard cargo van. So take the Chevy Express 1500 cargo van for comparison. (I took this one because it is most likely the more popular cargo van for the "everyday guy" being the most common one I see on the roads)
-Base model price of the Chevy is 30.8k
-The total cargo value of the Chevy is 50ft3 less in looking at both with/without counting the driver cabin space (but the numbers you are reporting do not add up as the mpdv1 is not as tall and narrower by a few inches as well as over 50 inches shorter in length so something isn't quite adding up there. Even comparing the MPDV2 measurements simply don't add up either)
-The mileage of the MPDV1 is 130mi (EPA) on the base model with the smallest battery and that is laughable when the base model v6 Chevy van can get 400-420 miles per tank average with 14mpg (EPA)
-The cargo payload of the Chevy is over 1500 lbs more and the towing capacity I can assume will be way higher as nothing is listed on your website in regards to towing.
I PLACED MY ORDER JUST NOW
If this is what the future of vehicles looks like I'm here for it
CANOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!
I really hope this thing makes it to the market. Would love to have that for my job as an electrician.
"everyday person" my ass lmfao this shit is gonna be so expensive
$33k starting isn’t bad at all.
@@Robrulesall2 that's what they're saying to get people interested
Everyday people but for the ones who do deliveries
@@Robrulesall2 if it is actually 33k i bet that will be for the most basic stripped down model that's not any better than a second hand van from another company. I bet any of the specialized extra stuff they showed in this video will put the cost significantly higher
$33K - 7.5 K gov rebates = $25 K approx. You coud get mid range one for about $40 K after rebates. not bad.
OH MY GOSH!!!
This is the most awesome van ever seen!!
The pick-up is dope but this!!
This is INSAAAAAANEEEEE!!!
Please, sale it in the EU as well cos as a camper van this will the the best EVER!!
This is cool i would use this for a production van with a slide up door to feed the cast also use it for pop up shop for my clothing brand.
Ambulance, you NEED to make this into an ambulance.
I'd be interested to see the safety rating on this.
Same....
Canoo, I believe in you. I own canoo stock. Dont let me down.
New EV reveal every week
This gives us hope in the future.
The modularity on this is amazing. Hopefully it takes off!
Drop the word "Delivery", it'd make the car a lot more attractive.
Now this’s innovation. Not forcefully push towards futuristic idea but we still know it’s going there.
This looks like something you’d see in Roblox.
I love it
Excellent launch video. Thoughtful execution of design, with the focus on individuality mods. I hope this becomes insanely successful. Well done!
