I wish she would of let the whole blending process in the video . I feel like that’s the hardest part . I can place the contour product and bronzer correctly but it’s the blending that gets me.
I think that one big mistake girls usually make is that they're being too generous with their products. When applying your contour (which should be a shade of grey), you should NEVER draw a line across your cheek. You have to use the tiniest amount at the very beginning of your natural hollow/beginning of your hairline and then buff the product with upward motions (1 inch max across your cheek). If you find the result not strong enough, put a dot or two on the same location and repeat. If you draw an entire line across your cheek, you'll never be able to blend it and It'll extend towards your mouth creating a saggy/dirty/muddy look. Working in layers is absolute key in makeup.
Kinda figured this out too. Youll have to blend the contour above and below where you place it so its not harsh. So i place in the middle of the area i want to countour
@@jra3978 it def makes your cheekbones more lifted looking rather than a droopy kind of look. When you do a fishy kiss face and apply in that big crease it looks like your check bone is lower than was it is. You want them to pop not drop you know. Lol I like how I just said that aha.

I think the product placement is interesting. I usually apply blush where you applied the bronzer on the cheek (in the new technique side). As in, apply blush where highligher is typically applied. Not sure about blending the contour in with the bronzer though, as the bronzer acts to create warmth and the contour is used to create shadow. The final result does look nice though!!

Great video as usual Sagonia but one thing I'd like to say is consider getting a lighter shade than espresso in the fenty matchstix, the darkness of the shade may also be a factor as to why your contour looked muddy on the left side...Rihanna herself uses the shade Mocha, and she is quite tanner than you obviously. Espresso is meant for richer skin tones. Maybe that's why you are only able to use such a tiny amount. Try picking up Amber or Mocha if you want something from the same formula. More power to you girl! xx

this is a good technique to make your cheekbones look higher, but it mostly works best for faces like sagonia’s that don’t have prominent cheekbones to begin with. applying contour on top of prominent cheekbones that come out of your face naturally will just hide them, and you will be working against your own features. if you have natural contours in your cheek that you want to emphasize, don’t lay contour/bronzer directly over your cheekbone. definitely do not “forget what you know about contour” bc contour is not a one size fits all, and what works for sagonia is not guaranteed to have the same results for you. work with your own features to find what suits your face shape best. Alexandra Anele has an incredible video that discusses this exactly in terms of contour
Thank God I found this video. I also noticed that when you put your contour on the shadow/line on your cheeks it kinda dragged your face down. Now, I put my contour where I put my blush and viola! It lifted my face. Hehehe
If I were to use setting spray and put powder contour on top i can imagine it looking patchy and uneven. Is this just me? - your looking beaut btw and your brow tips have been great!

I recommend starting small and using a clean brush to blend before adding more
