2024 was my year for letting go of 'defined curls' partially because, if you have fine and low density hair, then perfect curls make you look like you have even less hair. So, a bit of frizz and less definition, actually makes me look like I have more hair.
Oh how I sooooooo agree about the Curl Police! Utterly fed up hearing people say that hair isn’t curly if it’s not curly when soaking wet! Live and let live and get a curly life lol!
I am newish to the curl videos and such. And it got to the point I felt like I was standing on one foot, bent sideways, and whistling in the shower to get the curls I wanted (Being sarcastic of course). But I was really getting confused by all the pro tips in what to do, what to use, how to have my head and body positioned during each product phase, which brush, etc....just crazy. Then just when I thought I got a handle on it all, everything stopped working and then I find out there is porosity and density issues as to which products will work or not. It has all gotten to be expensive and time consuming...ughhh. Just a few days ago, I was like enough. I'm standing up straight in the shower, applying one curl cream and one gel, scrunching with a t-shirt and that's it. And believe it or not, my curls have been coming out great 😁
I’m so pleased to hear your “ins” for 2025! As a fellow redhead 👩🏻🦰, I’ve gone from wanting my curls to resemble yours, to being able to compare our hair. Turns out, our curl patterns are very similar! But I still struggle with my hair past day 3. I’m glad to know I’m not the only one rocking the “lived in” hair and that I don’t need to worry about how my curls evolve between wash days 😊
I have let go of section by section brush styling. I have stopped using curl creams. They just weigh my hair down. I am concentrating more on the health of my hair. I now always use a leave in conditioner with heat protection, then a little mousse, a little gel and diffuse. Less is more and my hair comes out great.
I've always been minimal and lived in, and you'll never catch me brush styling!! 😂 I reckon you got great shape even before you began, Hannah. 👍🏻 A note about curly hair and professionalism/grown-up-ness: Most of us with a more wavy pattern had straight hair as kids. The texture changed as we grew up. Therefore waves and the loose curls that often come at the long ends ARE grown up. The change in texture is part of the maturation process. ❤
I'd love to see up hair styles for when you've just washed your hair. In my work i have to put it up. And after just washing your hair i find it a bit disheartening than I'm then hiding it 😢 so I'd l9ve ideas to show up curls even when in an updo❤
@@carajackson2139 the only hairstyle that I’ve found that actually keeps my curls is the bun I do overnight! I clip the front bits separately and its actually a cute hairstyle, I wear it in the day too!
Curl police/gatekeeping 🤬 My hair naturally clumps into spiral curls throughout my whole head but is looser at my roots. I have been told so many times that I do not have curly hair because my curls are not tight at my roots 🙄 I have never in my life had anyone say I have wavy hair besides people online. It’s utterly ridiculous. My curls are the same shape as a telephone cord. Not sure how you can get wavy from that 🤯

I completely agree. I let go of curl perfection and am so much happier for it. I love having curly hair ➰➿
Yes I'm all for the less defined curls this year, Carrie Bradshaw vibes.
I hope for more heat/uv protection in curly hair styling products 😎
Yes!! Man I loved her hair! Especially in season 1. Just big messy casual curls! They are just so pretty!!
@deandrajohnson1973 yes!!! 🤩
I love the last in! Please more ideas for hairstyles after day 2 🙏
Curls in all places! Growing up ...having a party or fancy my hair was always straight.

Great video Hannah ❤and your curly hair is beautiful.

My favorite curls are not day one or two. I love when my curls get a bit unruly and voluminous. Let’s go big hair!
