    do you have any tips for raising a baby in a nourishing traditions type way when everyone around you is making you feel awful about it? Or guilting you?
    Does your husband also stay on track with how you feed your kids? Even my husband who is normally very supportive, thinks it’s okay to occasionally give our kids food dyes, sugar, processed ice cream etc.
    Any tips at all or resources would be GREATLY appreciated!!! Thanks Marissa! I really admire you!

      Thank you so much! This can be a HARD situation. I feel like this could be a video series :) My biggest advice is to surround yourself with a few people who believe in Nourishing Traditions, like you do. A local WAPF chapter can be a good place to start. When you're surrounded with supportive people part of the time, it makes it easier to stand up confidently to others who don't understand. Just remember why you're doing what you're doing, and that real food is how people ate for centuries before processed, fake foods came along only recently. You know what's best for your kids. My husband is supportive, since he sees how much real food has helped him, and he wants our kids to have the best start. That is a hard situation you have :( I guess information is really helpful, if he's open to it. Facts and statistics don't lie! You might also point out how the processed food, dyes, sugar, etc. impact how your kids feel and act. Hope that helps! 💕

Thank you for all you have done for this community. You have given me courage in many ways.

    This is super helpful. I’ve tried the gaps diet with no milk but 2.5yo kiddo loses weight so quickly. Is that addressed elsewhere? I’m also worried she’s not getting enough carbs without grains. You mentioned carrots squash and peas. Is that all the carb alternatives?

    Ohhh Thank you , thank you, thank you so so so much!!!! Tomorrow is the day we start the Gaps diet. I am a little shaky because i cant wait and am afraid at the same time if it would be to overwelming. Especially what other members of the family will say. May i ask you what to do if someone does not own a bathtub for detox baths? You give me so much Hope. Thank you thousand times

      You're so very welcome, I am so happy I can help! Surrounding yourself with other positive people who are supportive of what you're doing is really helpful. That will help you not worry about what other family members think or say. Are you able to get something like a large kiddie pool, or even a livestock water tank for the baths? If it is for a child, a plastic storage tote would even work. At the very least, if a large container isn't possible, you can try an epsom salt foot soak. You can do this! Many, many families have been successful and it has helped them so much. Here is one story from a friend of mine that you'll find encouraging: th-cam.com/video/tdzsyKJmDtw/w-d-xo.html Reach out anytime! Sending well wishes your way! 💕

      @@BumblebeeApothecary Today my son and i are on day 3 . May i ask you how long did you and your Kids stayed at each Stage of the introduction diet? Finally my son eats a little bit more. But he wants to be nursed more. I have read that if the food comes out undigested this would be a problem. Is that truth? But he loves soft carrrots with tallow...

    • @BumblebeeApothecary
      @BumblebeeApothecary  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The spent really varies. My son went through the first several stages quickly, maybe a week on each stage. The later ones where fruit and honey are added took longer. He went without fruit for about 4 months. Now, after around 6 months, he is on full GAPS this time. A little undigested food coming out isn't too big of a deal. You don't want to see a lot, though.

      Hi! Yes soup count as a stock. I was told by my practiotioner to aim for 6 cups a day for teens and adults. For a 2 year old i read you should give 1-2 cups as tolerated of course. So i guess for a 4 year old it would be around 3 cups?

      I'm happy to help! It sounds like he's going through die off. Dr. Natasha says this is a good thing! It means the gut bacteria is changing for the better, but it can be hard. She says that more detox baths can help, and to make sure his bowels keep moving. Sending well wishes!

    Love this ! When should I move onto stage 2 or 3....how long should my 1 year old son be on stage 1 for?

    • @BumblebeeApothecary
      @BumblebeeApothecary  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's very individual, and only your body can tell you. Most people stay on stage 1 for a shorter amount of time, maybe a few days or a week. Stage 2 is where the deepest healing and detox happens. Some people camp out on stage 2 for a long time, and some are ready for stage 3 after a shorter time. Here's how to know if you're ready for stage 3: When you introduce avocado, and old symptoms return, you need to go back to stage 2 and stay there longer for more healing to happen. :)

    My son (6 year old) wretches everytime he looks at most fruit and vegetables, to the point he is sick. However, he has started to have tangerines. He is classed as a special educational needs child at school but has not been diagnosed with autism. What advice would you give to him starting the gaps diet given the fact he also struggles with the texture of fruit and vegetables?

    • @BumblebeeApothecary
      @BumblebeeApothecary  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm sorry to hear that :( Sensory processing disorders (with textures) are very common with GAPS kids. Getting the healing foods in are key. I have a free class that helps you get started here: my.demio.com/ref/2znHBvku8txu1OSd

    Does your son have any issues, or is this just preventative?

    • @BumblebeeApothecary
      @BumblebeeApothecary  4 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      The short answer is: both! My husband (his father) has an ASD diagnosis, and I knew that our son would be at a high risk for developing autism. He does not display any autism signs so far, but he does have a personality that includes a lot of the characteristics of someone who does develop autism: sensitive, very particular, etc. Based on everything I know about him and what I know about autism, I sincerely believe that if it weren't for the GAPS diet, he would develop autism. Hope that all makes sense :)

    Hello..I'm thinking of starting the GAPS diet for my 2.5 yo ASD son. I dont know if I should do or skip the introduction diet. He poops every other day but thats the only digestive problem he has. He tolerates all foods so if I do introduction diet when do I know when to move from one stage to another?

    • @BumblebeeApothecary
      @BumblebeeApothecary  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great questions! Ideally a person should be moving the bowels at least once every day. Dr. Natasha recommends starting with full GAPS if there is a concern with constipation, and moving to intro later when the constipation is resolved. Dr. Natasha recommends moving through the stage when the digestive symptoms (gas, bloating, etc.) are improved. You add once food at a time and watch for any changes for a few days. Sending well wishes!

    Hi there, I breastfeed, should I finish the stage 1 of the Gaps diet before starting my toddler on the GAPS diet? Also a toddler who has cows milk? What would you suggest

    • @BumblebeeApothecary
      @BumblebeeApothecary  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Dr. Natasha recommends full GAPS (not intro) for the mom while pregnant and nursing. Milk isn't allowed on the early stages of GAPS (raw milk can be added after a year or two for many people) so you'll have make the transition to cultured dairy. Hope that helps!

      @@BumblebeeApothecary Would it harm the baby if moms did the intro diet while breastfeeding a baby with excema and allergies? It would seem detox would take place anyway if the mother was consuming a regular diet and the pulls dairy and grains ect. That way they can progress together if baby has food allergies?

    • @BumblebeeApothecary
      @BumblebeeApothecary  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      My son didn't. That's not to say it's impossible; it could happen a bit in the short term as their body adjusts to a new way of eating, but shouldn't be drastic and it shouldn't last. Once they're really eating the good food they should be a healthy weight.
