this guy really started making rc car videos for fun and now he is building a monster truck. hands down my favorite youtuber
Don't ever let anyone tell you you are doing it wrong, you clearly did your research, you learned to weld, you learned to grind, you learned everything and it seems you did it amazingly, enjoy that truck! Best part about building your own is that you will have no issue figuring out if something gets broken and how to fix it. Mad respect for you.
He used to be a welder, before his RC parts business. He mentioned it on an earlier video...

I think if your dream is to build a monster truck, and now you are building one with all the best parts, you can safely say you've made it in life. You were one of the lucky ones but that doesn't mean you didn't earn it, nor does it mean you can't lose it. So enjoy it and keep working hard to keep it, but don't say you haven't made it because if you haven't now then by most peoples standards you never will. Much respect to you and can't wait to see more.

Nuts and bolts are easy. Engine building, fabrication, engine tuning, transmission/differential rebuild is where he might have to call in the professionals. That being said I think he is making good progress on his monster truck build 👍
This is an amazing series of videos and lets take some time to appreciate Claire and Ian for being boss and helping Kev with that big thing. Lets be real we all wish we had Claires and Ian's in our lives.

I've been going through a super tough time in my life and have been thoughts about ending it all. Your message at the end about your dream really helped me a lot. The driveshaft safety cage isn't for the crowd it is for when the yokes break and the drive shaft comes off and flails around hitting the driver in the ass repeatedly like a sadist.
Still needs to be lubricated.

Not sure if you didn't show it on the footage Kev, but a decent torque wrench would be a good idea to make sure all the fixings are tightened correctly.

my thoughts too! I also suggested to Kev to Loctite the nuts. I'm no expert so not sure if thats required ? It just seems a good idea to me considering the enormous vibrational energy that will resonate through that chassis from the V8 monster engine i assume will be going into it!?

From a mechanic’s view point, it’s low key horrifying watching some of this stuff being guess work, uncertainty and botching…but from a man’s perspective…it’s fookin beautiful mate

Exactly that mate I’m cringing so much watching this get put together. From a plant fitters point of view I hope those drive shafts are put on correctly and bolts are torqued to correct spec. But it is good content content though I’ll be back for the next one 🤣
As a mechanic, I agree. At the same time though, it’s a learning experience for him as much as it is for anyone else. He’ll learn if something isn’t right. I’d bet in the next ten years, he will know one of these in and out.

When i was 13 years old i told people that I wanted to open my own skatepark. They all said I was full of shit and wouldnt happen. At the age of 26 i had the biggest indoor skatepark in the UK. I was involved in bringing Matt Hoffman and Tony Hawk to Peterborough which was out of this world. I had my dream destroyed when a big corporation destroyed our business to build houses.
I now own and run my own gym, I get told how lucky I am. Im not lucky, its a mixture of hard work, perseverence and stubborness.
If you want something you just have to go get it, and dont stop until its yours.
Keep up the great work Kev.
Make sure that the drive shafts are phased properly, when you took the slip section out of the rest of the drive shaft those two arrows have to point at one another when you put it back together or you'll get a big vibration and could break some stuff
X2 on this and for all the U-joints on the other shafts...
You talk rubbish mate, you only get vibration if the drive shaft is unbalanced, it only goes in one way, Kevin has done it perfect, nice job Kevin 👍
@@generalrc2154 do yourself a favor, and don't comment on something you obviously don't know anything about. Go ahead and look up driveshaft phasing.. it's right in my first comment. If you simply educated yourself before jumping on your keyboard, you wouldn't look like an idiot.
