    Something worth noting is that Physical Power scales differently if you are below 15 Power. For example, the Rogue has about a -20% Physical Power Bonus by default, with each missing point in Phys Power being worth about -3% damage, and so getting a few points in Strength or Phys Power to bring it up to 15 is actually very impactful, potentially more impactful than flat damage bonuses. However, once you reach 15 Phys Power, it starts to scale 1% bonus damage per-point, and so it stops being worth it compared to flat damage bonuses.

    I too can confirm the health shrine doesn't full heal, as I was actually watching a clip of a seriously wounded Barbarian using one, and it did *not* do so! It really surprised me too, because I only ever got full healed in my personal playthroughs.

      I can confirm this for playtest 3.
      Was playing my barb, had 150+ health with my health gear and passives and used a shrine with a sliver of health after killing a trio, only got me to around 90-95% health. That was when I realized it was a fixed amount.
      I didn't look to see what my health was at when I used the shrine cause the adrenaline was pumping pretty good.

    So basically strength provide Physical Power, and this stat increase physical damage as well as arrow damage, so to deal more damage as an Ranger you still need strength, cause agility only gives us more shooting speed an i right at this point? ofk i understand that we can get more damage by just having more pdps on bow but the point here is whitch one is better for ranger to deal more damage from shot Strength/Agility

  • @remycarbon8711
    @remycarbon8711 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Number of armor points divided by 5 is the physical damage reduction percentage. For example 100 total armor points is equal to 20 percent prot against phys damage. A lot of stats do not raise equally to their attribute or point value, like having 15 physical strenght attribute doesnt mean you do 15 percent more phys damage . (I beleive its based around 10, and every point above or below 10 counts as a 2 percent increase/decrease to phys damage) worth mentioning

    Enjoying the content @Repoze. My question is does + True magical or Magical damage stat roll on a melee weapon work? Does it add what ever the stat is hit for magic damage in addition to the weapons physical damage? I hope its the case that a melee fighter can have that extra magic damage variability.

    • @Repoze
      @Repoze  ปีที่แล้ว

      True/additional magic damage on a weapon only increase magic damage dealt, so as far as I know it wouldn't do anything on Fighter. It would be good on something like Rogue (poison does magic damage) or Wizard for more damage on spells. Also, crystal sword deals both physical and magical damage on swing so it would be useful there too

  • @gamingdealer9514
    @gamingdealer9514 ปีที่แล้ว

    Question, is the crystal sword the best weapon for the wizard if it has a lot of additional weapon dmg or any of the the stats, because they both increase the magic dmg of spells as well as the base dmg of the melee swing?
    Edit: I saw you basically answered my question in another comment so Im going to ask a different question. Does true dmg add additional dmg that ignores resistances or does it make some you the dmg your weapon already has, ignore resistances?
    Do healing spells benefits from the Will stat? Do they benefit from the additional magic dmg, magical power increases? Are the abilities of some classes like Judgement and smite benefiting from all the additional dmg increases?
    Last thing I want to mention, that you may want to add to the video is that stats seem to change depending on what weapon you are wielding. So +all attributes on a sword doesnt affect you when you pull out a bow.

    • @Repoze
      @Repoze  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the clarification at the last part, I should've mentioned that in the video
      As for the questions I'll go one by one:
      -True damage adds a flat amount of damage to your attacks
      -Will doesn't affect healing, as far as I can tell only the Magical Healing stat affects heals from spells
      -Spells like Judgement/Smite are affected by stats like Additional Magic Damage and Magical Power
      Also note this is just what I know from the December playtest, some of this stuff may change from playtest to playtest

    Hi, new sub here. tbh I love your other videos but this one is pretty mid because you just read the descriptions to us. with your skills I thought you would be going in depth in how impactful stats are. for example in another video you said the gauntlets with strength were best for rogues, but in my dummy testing I found that increasing my strength by 1 increased my damage by....1, so why is that gauntlet best in slot? 1 damage per strike isn't impactful at all. can you please talk more about which stats you prioritize and why, and what stats are the most impactful? especially for rogue. thanks dude. your vids are an inspiration.

    • @Dragondave17real
      @Dragondave17real ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +1 damage is a lot when your damage is already low, thats +5% damage(which is exactly how much a Rogue gains from +1 Strength) if you deal 20 damage, you also gain +2-3 max hp. +1 in agility would be +1% movement speed and +1.5%(for a rogue, they get more, its +1% for other classes) action speed which is less than +5% damage. It's also possible you already had high strength. +3 Strength is worth +15% damage and +9 hp for a rogue, if you think about the other enchants on gear nothing comes close to that.

  • @ChadowT98
    @ChadowT98 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hey, do you know how stats affect buffs ? For example, if as a wiz, I cast Ignite on my teammate, is the "additional magical damage" from my gear added to his swings or is it the magical damage from his gear ? Same question for buff duration.

    • @Repoze
      @Repoze  ปีที่แล้ว

      not sure about the ignite damage, but the buff duration stat of the person being buffed is what affects them. so if a cleric with really high buff duration buffs their teammate, the teammates buff duration bonus is what influences the length of the buff, not the clerics

    Hi Repoze, does the additional magical damage stat cause physical hits to deal additional magical damage? Or only spells?

    • @Repoze
      @Repoze  ปีที่แล้ว

      only spells

    • @user-vl5qg5rf4n
      @user-vl5qg5rf4n ปีที่แล้ว

      It is not only spells, the way both additional physical damage and additional magic damage works is that it only adds onto something already dealing that damage type. So a cleric using smite will have his bonus magical damage on hit benefit from additional magic damage, but not his physical damage. Likewise the crystal sword hits will benefit from additional magic damage and Magic power %, but only the part that already deals magic dmg. Additional magic dmg and magic power % also affect rogues poison damage for instance despite that it is not a spell and is applied by physical attacks.

    Does having high armor boots increase your overall armor rating in the head/torso? The armor rating seems to be a total, despite being effected by damage multipliers for hitboxes (head, arms, legs etc)

    • @Repoze

    So would additional damage bonuses be better on faster attacking, low dmg weapons, whereas power bonuses would be better on slower attacking, high dmg weapons?

    • @clowdk
      @clowdk ปีที่แล้ว

      They mentioned in the video that additional damage is always better unless you've already reached 100 flat damage. This applies to all weapons, regardless of speed.
      In terms of efficiency, flat damage does benefit lower-damage, faster weapons more. 5 additional damage is more impactful on something that does 20 damage and swings several times per second. But unless the slower weapon is doing over 100 base damage already, there's no reason to use power bonuses.

    True damage > damage > armor penetration > strength > physical power, for those who want a stat priority for physical damage. • @haga7466
      @haga7466 ปีที่แล้ว

    • @AWeakPrinny
      @AWeakPrinny ปีที่แล้ว

      @Ha Ga do you not understand math? The ONLY instance where 1% armor pen will be better than 1 true phys damage is if you're dealing >150 damage per hit before armor damage reduction applies. If you're dealing 60 damage per hit before armor damage reduction applies and the enemy has 25% damage reduction via armor, you'll deal 45 damage. If you give yourself 1% armor pen, that amount will not change enough to round up to 46. If you give yourself 1 true phys damage, that number will be 46. At 150 damage, you'll deal 125 damage after damage reduction, with 1% armor pen still only giving you 1 whole damage boost... you have to deal 151 damage before 1% armor pen will give you 2 damage.
      If you change that 25% to 50% damage reduction, the 1% pen/1 true phys damage result won't change. You'll deal 30/30/31 (no stat/armor pen/true phys at 60 damage before armor) and 75/76/76 (at 150 damage) respectively.
