Yes Asia it was called blue eyed soul. What people don't realize is the singers of both races would get together and jam and learn from each other and you'd see it in their Performaces. It wasn't no stealing going on. It was sharing and joining music and we the listeners enjoyed. My era where music was thoroughly enjoyed.

The Dynamic Duo doesn't disappoint, been a big fan from 1964. This was the #1 requested song to radio stations in the 20th century. Many great other songs. Hard to believe Bill Medley is 81. He's touring in FL presently with Bucky Heard. Sadly Bobby Hatfield passed in 2003. Sadly missed by music fans everywhere. Never knew he would provide so much enjoyment especially doing Unchained Melody as a solo.

Me too, ma'am! I was 14 years old when this song came out. The Righteous Brothers instantly became one of my favorites. A year later, Bob Dylan released "Like a Rolling Stone," and both songs have stayed lodged in my brain-pan ever since. By the way, the Brothers owned a club in Reno for years, which I visited in 1990, but I never got to see them perform. But I still have their music!

Credit is due to Phil Spector, the producer of the Righteous Brothers along with many other stellar groups of the time. Spector created the "Wall of Sound" concept that gave these songs such depth and power. Other producers would use a piano and maybe two guitarists, but Spector would use four simultaneous pianos with a room full of guitarists and massive numbers of other session musicians -- and he only used the best. He drove the musicians and singers to the brink of exhaustion during the recording sessions until he got the sound he wanted. The man was a certified musical genius, and also a certified complete nut case. He is currently serving a life sentence in the California prison system for murder.

Before the internet, it was so much harder to find out which band or artist was singing a song you'd hear on the radio. And it was also much harder to catch a live performance on the TV, partly because there was no "on demand" streaming, and no such thing as a DVR (and in the 1960s, no consumer video recording capability at all.)

FYI, This is one of the best reactions I have seen in a long time. Good job. Having been a kid back in the early 60's I have grown up with great talent and for me the 60's and 70's are so deep and delicious. Thanks for doing such a great reaction. BTW, I rarely say that!
